I had a pair of Aravon shoes with the little cut-outs on the sides of the tops, which were the most awesome shoes I've ever worn for style & comfort. I made the mistake of dancing on a gravel/dirt floor at a wedding & shredded the heels, which were irreparable. They no longer make the cut-out style which was very sad for me, so I tried the newest Maya version. They fit a narrow heel (very unusual) & were very comfortable right out of the box. I went for a half size larger than the previous pair which slightly pinched my toes & was pleased with the larger fit. The only downside was this style & size look a bit "clunky" or "cloggy." Not as feminine & unique as the ones with the slits. The comfort surpasses the slight clunkiness in the style.

I fell in love with this shoe style when I found it in a local shoe store (not purchased from Zappos). I'm not hard on shoes, but after wearing these only a handful of times, one heal came completely off! I'm not even sure how it happened, but the rubber is cheap and soft and just disintegrated. Not worth the price by a long shot.

I can't say enough good things about these shoes. The best feature is a nice high toe box, even in a narrow size (11N). From the front, they look like a ballerina flat, but the Mary Jane strap keeps them on. They look dressy but are as low as a flat. Nice high arch support and padding under the ball of foot. Please make them in burgundy, navy, and taupe.

Only dress shoe that I could find wide enough for my bunion and foot. Had a previous pair of this same style and was so comfortable. Thanks you Aravon for a round toe shoe and Zappos for free returns to allow to try on in two sizes.

These cute shoes in a 7M were comfortable out of the box on my 7M feet. They would look nice with funky, boho clothing, I think. But the soles were slippery. That is a deal breaker for me. Back they went.

I have wide feet with arthritis, bone spures, bunions, and a hammer toe. I am not new to the world of orthotic shoes. Can't tell you how much money I've wasted over the years on ugly shoes that didn't really work out. I ordered the Maya Mary Janes. I always read the remarks before I purchase and pray they are real. I usually wear a 10 wide. To accommodate the bunions and the hammer toe I need a roomy area that won't cause the burning and rubbing. Reviews said these were on the wide side and therefore the perfect shoe became too loose after wearing. Thank you for that tip. The shoes were on sale so I said let me try one more time because the alternative was bleak. I ordered the 10.5 regular. My feet are usually swollen and painful by the end of my work day, and they were when my shoes arrived. I tried one on and gasped because my foot was in heaven. Then the true test...I tried it on the left foot with the hammer toe. I was so emotional because I had finally found the shoes for me! I love these shoes! So glad I ordered the regular size one half size bigger instead of my usual wide. I'm hopeful that this review will be helpful to someone. Don't give up hope.

These shoes feel amazing. I wear a 10.5 narrow and also have hallux rigidus, and these shoes are just wonderful. The strap I love; it's easy to fasten with the velcro and the strap is just the right length! Most shoes have straps that are way too long, but these are perfect!

These shoes fell apart after a few years. I expect more for the price.
The synthetic material covering the heels is cheap and split in several places. This is not a defect that can be repaired. I contacted the manufacturer who refused to offer any kind of replacement or other accommodation past a 2 year warranty.
If you are comfortable paying $150 for shoes that may only last a few years, these may be fine for you. If, like me, you expect leather shoes that cost this much to last, then don't buy Aravon. I bought Clarks at the same time that are still holding up great.
I have found other complaints similar to mine online about these heels cracking so it was not an isolated incident.
