This was a lovely shoe. My problem with the fit was not with width or length but depth. I felt pressure coming down on my foot near the base of my toes or a little back from there.
I'd also recommend:
Yes , if it fits your individual feet!

I love these boots, but they slip on my heels even with heavy winter socks.

I'm so glad these cute boot shoes came in extra wide which is hard to find.

I wanted to like this shoe, but the sole was thin and I didn't think it was stiff enough for rugged outdoor use. I'm returning it.

Beautiful shoes. If you're not use to shoes that come up so high on the ankle, take your time breaking them in.

Beautiful looking and seem to be well made. They caused the back of my one heel to bleed after I walked in them a few minutes, so be mindful to break them in a little at a time.

Nice supportive boot, just a little snug around my ankles. they may need to be stretched out a bit with wearing them. Leather is a little stiff. I thought it would be softer.

Never tried SAS shoes before so was unsure what size to order. I wear an 11N in other brands and my big toe usually touches. So when I saw these came in an 11.5 I figured I’d try it. Ordered N 11.5N. Good in the length but too wide. Sent these back and have now ordered an 11.5S. Fingers crossed!

Living in Florida, I always have a difficult time finding lace-up boots and an even harder time finding comfortable ones. I drove 35 miles one way to try on these shoes at an SAS store, and because they didn't have my size the first time, I tried a half- size smaller in a wide width, which usually works. It didn't work this time, and the boots squeaked near my ankles with every step I took. I made the 70 mile round trip a second time to take them back and swap them out, and the store had the correct size that time. I didn't really want to pay that much for a pair of shoes, especially never having worn SAS shoes and knowing how they would be, but I'm glad I took the plunge. There was absolutely no break-in period, and these boots were comfortable from the minute I put them on. I've had them for about a year and a half now, and they have held up well and look almost as good as when I bought them. I probably wear them at least once a week, sometimes more often, and they are my "go to" shoes for casual days at work, because they are the perfect balance between casual, dressy, and comfortable. The one feature that I would love to see added to make this the perfect boot is a zipper on the inside (ankle side) of each boot to make getting them on and off easier. It's not always convenient to have to tie and untie a pair of shoes, and I have a pair of black boots from another shoemaker that have a zipper on the inside. If SAS added this, I would probably buy a pair in two or three colors, and I may never buy another brand of lace-up boots again.

Well made and up to the great SAS standards. Put score of 4 because got them at end of winter. Did not use much. Will know better next Fall through Winter. Have no doubt they will be fine however, cannot give 5 until I know.
Thank you

Ordered the red Gretchen Boot. Unpacked it, loved the color, liked the non-skid sole. Ordered 10-WW, just not wide enough. Wear 10 WWW in Free Time, but I hoped they would fit. Sadly the shoe didn't fit. Maybe next year Gretchen will come in WWW.

This shoe was very comfortable, except that it rubbed against my ankle.

These were well made and cute but I have a thin heel and they were just too wide and slipped. Had to return.

I'm 11 N in SAS sandals, and 10.5 N in everything Munroe. These I ordered in 10.5 N. The length and forward width are good but the heel is enormous. Unfortunately almost every size is now out of stock but I will try 10.5 Slim when it becomes available. They arrived showing some wear with a few shiny spots marring the suede. My preference next time will the grain leather.
I'd also recommend:

I've never bought or tried on the SAS brand shoes. I have high arches, almost true wide feet and peripheral neuropathy. The SAS Gretchen boot is well-made. I always order a wide, but in this boot, the wide was too wide. The length was good, as was the arch support. I ordered the black boot, and when I saw the boot on my foot I decided I absolutely did not like the style. It reminded of Herman Munster boots. I have returned the boots, but will continue looking at the SAS brand because of the generous width, excellent arch support, and quality.

I’ve worn sas time out shoes for work years ago. These are not as comfortable as the time out style, but they look better. It’s taken me a week or more to break them in, and they they are feeling better now. Not enough arch support for my feet, but that’s probably just me. I’ve had really bad problems with my feet for about three years now, from worn out cheap shoes. I have to walk 3 to 5 miles a day on concrete and I hope these will help my feet heal from the damage it’s cause me.

I have a wide foot and a high instep. Finding a boot to fit was very frustrating. The fact that this boot comes in a wide fit and has laces made it adjustable so that it fits me perfectly. My only wish is that it were a bit dressier. I love wearing it with jeans and casually. I've worn it with dressier pants to church, but it really is a more casual boot. I'm just happy to have a boot that fits that is also very comfortable.

I bought two pair of this style. I had the black Alpine ww for several years and was hoping these were made on the same pattern. They seem to be close. The gray are red chucka ones seem slightly tighter arcoss my very very high instep, but i can wear them for 10 or more hours.

I bought gray and red pairs of this boot. I have a very wide foot and super high instep. These boots at least go on my feet and can stay there all day without feeling too tight. I can't get a thick sock on, but with dress socks and leggings i can even wear these with dresses and skirts.

I thought this was a really cute boot, and ordered them a half size larger than normal (7.5WW instead of 7WW) in the hopes that they would accommodate my orthotics and perhaps a thicker sock. Unfortunately, they were just too long but still too narrow for my extra-wide feet. I guess I really need a triple-wide width---wish SAS made more of them!

Very well made, sturdy, I loved the clean style.
I wear 8.5 WW and sized up to 9WW for extra room if I wanted to wear a sock. I thought the width was fine, lots of toe room.
My only problem was where they hit on the ankle. Apparently I'm sensitive there. Maybe I would get used to it, but for the price I'm not willing to take the chance. So returning them, with regret.

I have very narrow feet, especially heels, and the narrow was too wide. (I can wear a narrow but a slim sometimes fits better.) Also, the tongue was too rigid and dug into the front of my ankle.
I liked the look of them and really wanted them to work for me!
