Having had recent ankle surgery, these shoes are made just for me! They are comfortable and have a fair amount of stability for my ankle. They are terrific looking and water proof to boot. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

I only wear SAS shoes. I have a very small foot and they are so comfortable and they fit perfectly.

Beautiful shoes, good quality leather and finishing, unfortunately my orthotics do not fit well so I need to return.

These Gretchen boots provide comfort, great colors, and I have received many compliments. What more would you need? I purchased them in the blue. I do wish the blue was a little darker but they are really cute shoes. I plan to order another pair in another color - probably the red.

Like one of the reviewers I have posterior tibial insufficiency, so I took note of her review, and I'm glad I did. I suspect I'm more severe because I do need orthotics most of the time, but I think these boots will be my break shoes. I wear the Tour with my orthotics. Anyway, these boots are generously sized, or I should say properly sized, which is unusual. I measure exactly 11.5 AAA, and these fit like a dream in the 11.5 slim, supportive with good toe room.It also has good cushioning without being too soft. Some people like a soft shoe, but I can't be moving around too much. A super slim might find them too loose without another insole. Though this shoe is great for certain work environments (slip resistant) and walking about town, I wish a quality company like SAS would make a real hiking shoe/boot with some tread that fits women with long and narrow feet. People in my size have no options among all the hikers I've checked out throughout the years except New Balance (just now and then).

This shoe looks like it would fit narrow, but it doesn't feel narrow. Love that! I have posterior tibial tendon dysfunction and have found SAS shoes are the only ones that I can wear other than New Balance. This is a very cute boot that looks good with slacks or jeans. Comes with extra shoe laces - with a pattern. Nice!

These boots are so comfortable. I have serious problems with my feet but I can wear these all day with NO pain! Planning to get a second pair. I have the red ones and have received many compliments on them.

I have to have a 1 3/8 inch build-up added to the bottom of my right shoe, both of my feet have plantars fasciitis and I have a bone spur on my right heel. Thank God for the Tripad insole in the SAS Gretchen boots and several other SAS shoes. These are the first pair of boots that I found a build-up can be added to plus I do not have to wear my own uncomfortable orthotic inserts. The Gretchens are so warm and comfortable plus I was able to purchase the blue Gretchens instead of always having to buy black boots. I love these boots.

True to size, which is great. I used my own PowerStep orthotics along with a figure 8 ankle brace, and both fit nicely after removing the SAS insole (size 8 medium width). Cute boot to wear with jeans or skirt/tights. I like that the toe is simple, so also looks nice with work slacks. Received many compliments when I work with my skirt and tights. SAS are quality shoes and pretty much the only brand I can wear since being diagnosed with Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction. New Balance works too, but I prefer to not wear them to work.

Perfect fit right out of the box. I have worn Alpine for years but was happy to see another more colorful option in Gretchen.

I purchased the black while in a trip. I have a very wide foot and foot problems. I rely on SAS shoes and was thrilled to see a cute little boot. Wanted one of the colors but they didn't have my size and I needed shoes on the spot due to weather. Very comfortable footbed. I didn't have it tied tight enough and one boot rubbed the back of my ankle after walking all day. Can't wait to order the colors!

I have narrow flat long feet and these are the best fit so far of any boot I've tried (and there are hardly ANY in my size configuration- 11.5-12 very narrow). Wouldn't mind them being a little more stylish, but hey, I'm glad I found something a bit contemporary where my foot isn't slipping around inside the shoe all the time, or I have to wear extra socks to take up the slack. I'm willing to pay the price for quality.

I am so glad to have boots I can wear in inclement weather. SAS makes quality products for people with problem feet. It is difficult to find shoes that fit a long narrow foot (12AAA), that don't slip off the heel. i am still wearing SAS loafers that I purchased in 2003! Please don't stop making shoes in my size!!

the sales person looked so cute in leggings and these booties that I had to try a pair. I measure a medium but went with a wide to have more toe room. I'm finding them very comfortable. I am really attracted to the red pair and may end up getting those, too. They aren't cheap but since very few of my shoes are comfortable I've decided that I get what I pay for. Also the salespeople in SAS stores are superlative!

Thought it was the answer for a boot, water resistant and it came in slim. Even slim was loose in the heels without wool socks. But, the tongue was too thick and not flexible when walking. Pressed on front of shin. Felt like they would be comfortable for a day of walking.

I use this product to wear to work where I am on my feet and walk. I like the shoe because I have a large foot and it is roomy and comfortable. I purchased the grey/pink pair and is in the process of purchasing the blue pair. The shoes look nice with my jeans. I am glad they are colorful.

Love this style but I have narrow feet and the narrow was not narrow enough. I would have tried a slim but I also felt the height at the heel needed to be just a tad taller as it rubbed in strange places around my ankles. I wish it would have worked out. I love this brand but this shoe style was not made for my feet.

This is a nice looking classic, casual boot with the excellent quality expected of SAS. It has an anti slip sole, but I think a lug sole would be better in icy conditions. Unfortunately the way the tongue hit my ankle made it hard to walk naturally, so it's not a keeper for me.

Love the look and feel of the boot, but the size did not fit, when normally that's the size I wear in that brand.

These are really attractive. Unfortunately the top of this boot hit exactly at my lower ankle bone, which has been replaced twice. The top of the boot hits on all that metal. I love the style. I just wish the fit felt less painful.
