I am a true 8.5. I ordered these in 8.5, but they were too long - my foot slipped out. I re-ordered in 8, and they fit perfectly. I don’t wear socks with them (but could use a thin sock if wanted; but, to be clear, even a thick sock wouldn’t have made the 8.5 work). I find them very, very comfortable. The leather is good quality and soft, so there won’t be a breaking in period. I really like that the lug sole provides some grip to avoid slipping the way leather soles can risk, and it feels more cushy. While the soles are about 1”, they aren’t overbearing or go beyond the profile of the shoe itself. I have slender feet that are not considered narrow or wide, so these fit just right. If you have an especially narrow foot or are on the wider side, they may feel too tight. I am very pleased with this purchase and ordered a second pair in another color (again 1/2 size down from usual size). Good luck!

Great-looking loafer with a lug sole that’s not too extreme. I’m 78 and wanted a loafer that was stylish but not too funky. I’m usually a 9, and the 9 in this style was perfect. I have bunions that make all my shoe decisions, and they voted YES on the width.

This is the third Cole Haan style I've tried, and they're just too long and narrow for my foot that runs on the wide side of normal. I wear size 5 as long as it's not too narrow and anywhere a 4.5 to 5.5 depending on how a particular shoe runs. I bought size 5 and this shoe looks like it is 5.5 long but narrow even for a size 5. So going up to a 5.5 would not work for me. It's disappointing because I love their styling and attention to details that make them look a little more special than other shoes in the same category. In this case, the purple velvet is beautiful - not too loud. Would go with black or dark pants/jeans nicely.

I was hesitant about getting a chunky loafer - worried that they would be too clunky or look like I was wearing my dad’s shoes. I took a chance with these and am happy I did. They are stylish, classic and have a just right kind sole and heel. Elevated pennys but not so of the moment that they can’t be worn for years. And they are so comfortable. I put them on right out of the box and wore them all day. Padding on the insole, no weird stiff places or blister making spots. Felt liked I’d already broken them in. Very happy with my purchase. Can’t wait to to wear them with all sorts of outfits!

This Cole Hahn loafer fits great. It's a little more than I wanted to spend, but it is worth it.

Love the look, but they are too narrow in the toe box, and the side was rubbing under my ankle bone just walking around my living room.

Beautiful shoe, but you'll need to size-up. The leather is extremely firm and the shoe is very narrow.

Likes the way the shoe looked and the packaging was superior! But the fit was a mixed bag for me. Heel slipped and midfoot gapped out when I walked, but felt the squeeze on my toes. Sigh…had to return.

they are cute, but not a great fit

I bought these loafers as a gift for my daughter. She thought they were adorable, but as she already has a very similar pair of loafers these will have to go back. I guess I know her taste :).

Gorgeous shoe! Very comfortable and elegant! The leather is of excellent quality with just the right amount of sheen. I love the added detail of the metal CH tag on the back of each shoe.

Perfect shoe. Extremely comfortable and beautiful design that looks classic and modern. Very clean lines, versatile, perfect shape materials, and heel. Bought in a few colors. Will keep them all.
