Before I bought I asked customer service what I should order based off of my long feet and they told me to order a size smaller than I thought but they were wrong.

I ordered size 6.5 becuase I normally wear 6. It was tight in the beginning and I thought its fine because thats what the website has suggested. However, it was so painful to wear it the first several times. It was not only tight but also narrow. One of my friend got the same pair of shoes and she said if it would fit in the beginning, it would become very loose over time. I guess for this pair of shoes, you will either have to endure the pain in the beginning or wear loose shoes later.

I wanted to love these shoes. They're exceptional quality and look great! However, the sizes did not work at all for me. I'm usually a 7.5-8 but with these shoes the 7.5 was WAY too small (my foot literally was longer than the shoe and couldn't get in) but the 8 was huge and I couldn't take a step without them flopping off. Such a shame!

I love how these shoes look but I wish I had returned them before I wore them outside. The fit felt perfect but after wearing them as suggested for just a few hours at a time over the last few weeks they seem to not be breaking in. I have really bad blisters on my heels after every single wear and I have tried wearing them with thick socks to break them in faster but to no avail. I am still hopeful they will break in someday and work for me because I really think they are well made and beautiful.

I'm not sure why my previous review got deleted. The shoes are a little tight at the start but they break in and are pretty comfy (and still pretty). But get too big, and then they begin to wear out and snap 8 months in. Quite disappointed considering the price I'd paid.

I wanted to spend good money on a good, lasting pair. Got my pair half a size small, and it eventually stretched out to fit my feet after regular wear and a blister. It was a really comfortable pair after. However, 9 months down the road with regular wear (about 3x a week), the leather is beginning to wear out; one of the pieces have broken and the shoe has stretched out beyond comfort. Rather disappointing, considering the price of the shoes.

I followed the procedure but still had to take to cobbler for professional stretching thus almost wiping out my savings as a first time buyer. I still do not feel confident with the shoes that I could wear them eight hours without difficulty. They are pretty so I keep working on it but they are not yet my summer "go tos".

I appreciate that these are made in an ethical factory but I don't understand why they are over $100. These are inspired by original Mexican huaraches which do not cost a lot to make. I bought some in Los Angeles for $25 that were made and came from Mexico. Almost offensive that they are so expensive.

My normal size is 8. Purchased these in 8.5 per their size chart. They were too big so I exchanged for an 8. Size 8 was still too big with my heel slipping out. Ended up going with a 7.5 which is slightly snug around the toes and rubs my heel. Not sure if I will be able to get through the break in period with these. :(

I have been trying to slowly adapt to these shoes every few days, 5 min at a time, over the past several weeks but every time I do, I want to cry. I am currently on a break because of the blisters that I have on two toes. The braiding on the underside of the toe box is miserable and rough. They really should put a lining or smooth it down somehow. I wish I had never gotten these shoes.

I wanted these shoes to work so badly. I measured my foot, as suggested, and was a size 9 exactly according to Nisolo's chart. I ordered a 9, only to find them to be a half inch too big and too wide. I couldn't even keep them on my feet to walk in them normally. At my husband's suggestion, I ordered a whole size down, an 8. I was able to walk in the size 8 but they were very very snug. I decided to pay shipping to send them back and try the 8.5. I was determined to make them work! The 8.5 came. One shoe fit with just the perfect amount of snugness to allow for stretching. The other shoe felt as tight as the size 8. I double checked the sizes (both said 8.5). I wore them around the house, hoping the one would loosen up to no avail. It was cutting into the heel of my right foot, leaving a mark. So, I will pay returning shipping AGAIN and a re-stocking fee this time. I still would love to have a pair of these shoes--they are beautiful and made of quality materials. Maybe some day I'll be close enough to the actual store to go in and find two shoes that fit well. Ahh....

I adore Nisolo products and their mission, but I ordered this shoe in 3 different sizes (according to the size chart I was a size 7, but I also tried a 7.5 and 8) and had to return each one for a bigger size. After the third try, I gave up. Each size was drastically smaller than the traditional measurements and the size 8 should have been roomy on my feet. I'm frustrated by what could have been a simple and easy transaction that never worked out for me. BUT the shoe looks beautiful and well made. And very small, even with the inevitable stretching taken into account.

Wasn't really impressed with the look, feel, or quality. They look much better on the website and on the models. These sandals need to be broken in. The sole looks cheap. I bought these to wear on my first trip to Hawaii but they didn't make it out of the hotel room. I would not buy these again. Unfortunately I can't return them because they were bought on sale. Oh well.

I used the foot measuring chart and landed between 7/7.5. Followed reviewer advice to size up. Big mistake, fit perfect day 1 and by day 3 were MASSIVE. This is after the supposed material update. The worst part is they got damp on a rainy day and have been two totally different colors since. customer service told me to put them in the sun to fix the colors, but they look the exact same... very disappointed for such a cute, pricy shoe

Felt like a Geisha practicing foot binding tradition. I measured my foot per the size chart & it felt 1-1.5 sizes too small. Way too narrow as well. Gave two stars for good looking leather. Disappointed. Returned them.

I ordered an 8 even though I am a true 7.5. The 7.5s would have been too tight. The 8s fit fine but still cut up my feet. They look great but are really uncomfortable. Wish I could return these.

These look great, but I've only worn them once because they * tore up * my heels. Very unfortunate! I suppose if I broke them in a little this problem might resolve itself, but I'm reluctant to sacrifice my heels for that....

I'm a true EU 38 (US 7.5) in every brand I ever tried so I ordered it in this size. I wanted to get the 20% off so I subscribed. It's almost a month later but still haven't got that 20% code. As I spent only two weeks in the US I ordered it anyway. I loved the design, the color, that it is ethically made... everything. BUT ... It's not only so tight I was barely able to put it on my feet but also shorter than my other shoes in this size. I was so disappointed. I tried everything: put it on with socks, put a boot-tree in it but nothing really helped. It's a bit better now as the leather slightly stretched (though I can see some stretchmarks on the leather straps) but I still can't wear it sockless and tortures my feet every time. This is definitely not a true to size for me. As I returned back to Europe I have no chance to return it or to get a refund so I just try to live with it. Not pleased at all, next I'll probably try another ethical brand or just try Nisolo shoes on before buying them.

Ordered my size 7.5, and they were too tight so I had them stretched. The width is fine now, but the shoe is too short and my toes are crammed. Too uncomfortable to wear. I recommend if you are between sizes to size up.

I ordered these in the natural color. If I could review separately for quality, this product would get 5 stars as they are absolutely beautiful. However, they are probably some of the least comfortable shoes I've ever owned. I saw some other shoppers complaining of sizing inconsistencies, so I ordered a 6.5 and a 7 (I'm normally a 6 or a 6.5). The 7 was a bit snug, but I figured they'd stretch out. Boy was I wrong. After a month of regular wear they still slice up my heels, and when I added a gel heel protector, my toes were still squished in the toe box, causing blisters. I have VERY narrow feet, and given the price of these, I am wildy disappointed and unfortunately don't think I'll be purchasing anything else form this vendor :(

Wanted to love these shoes but found them to be very uncomfortable - especially the soles. Had to buy a comfort insert to make them wearable. The sizing is also not consistent - you might have to try 2 in the same size.
