I've had these shoes for a couple months now and ordered my true size of 8.5. They do come out of the box quite snug and so I wore them around the house with socks on to break them in a little. They fit like a glove now, but still give me horrendous blisters on my heels. I don't know how long it's going to take for that to resolve, which is why I'm giving only 3 stars. I can't really walk around in these shoes for more than 1/2 an hour yet, and I've been wearing them regularly. I'll continue to assess and update my review in a few months.

I'm so excited about these shoes, but I've been wearing them for the past two weeks and they are still very stiff and really hurt my feet. I know that Nisolo started using new leather recently that hopefully won't stretch out as much, but I think the downside is that this new leather is really stiff. The first time I wore these my feet were in so much pain. The shoes mainly press on the top of my toes every time my foot bends in a step. I've never had a problem with that before! This leather is stiff enough though that it really creases down when your foot bends and it dug into the tops of my toes enough to rub them all raw. I've continued to wear these shoes for short outings here and there, but I need to put a bunch of bandaids on my feet (tops of toes and sides of heel) to make them wearable. I think the shoes are slowly breaking in and getting a bit less stiff, and I'm committed to continue to wear them bit by bit. I wanted to wear them to a conference right after I got them, but I didn't dare because I was going to be on my feet a lot. Make sure you give yourself time to let these soften up before you plan on wearing them for an extended period.

These are beautiful, quality, leather shoes. Ive been waiting for my size and was so excited when they came in. Color was accurate. I am a solid 7.5 (38/39). I do have narrow feet, and loved the width. Perfect. But my poor big toe was smashed up at the end. So I exchanged for the 8. Same issue! I would need to go up a full size for the correct length, but then my foot would slip out. The leather is fairly thick, and I never have luck successfully breaking shoes in when they pinch my big toe. Im bummed, but Im exchanging the size 8s for the open toe style. Not giving up on Nisolo yet!

These shoes are cute but do not fit well. Tend to rub against the inside of my instep.

nitially I ordered my standard 6.5. I could barely squeeze my foot in, so I exchanged for size 7. Although the sandals were still tight, I saw comments that they stretch a bit. I continued wearing them for a week in the hopes that they were going to break in. The sandals did stretch in width, but not in legth. Unfortuantely they are too painful to walk in (my big toes are phisically hurting), so I have no choice but to donate them. I also ordered a pair of Nisolo Isa boot in 7, and they do fit me well. So I am not sure why these sandals are so off in fit.

These shoes are oh so cute but I was treated to some rather big blisters the first time I wore them. Hopefully that was only a temporary side effect.

I contemplated buying these shoes for a whole year (!) and finally went for it after a friend told me how much she loved yours. Initially I ordered my usual size 6.5 but these were much too small, so went up to a size 7. Customer service was excellent, and I was able to get the new pair in time for a trip to Mexico. The shoes are comfortable and cute, but I think are prices a little too high for what they are. I understand and greatly appreciate the thoughtfulness that goes into running an ethically sourced company, but i think these are worth the full price tag. I will kee buying from nisolo though, because I believe in their mission and their high quality products. If the shoes were more affordable I would be a much more frequent customer!

I ordered my usual size and they were too short. Since there is no size printed anywhere on the shoe, I'm not even sure if the size I received is correct. Also, despite what it says here in the description, these insoles are definitely not real leather. They look, feel, and squeak just like fake leather. I can't pay $118 for squeaky shoes :(

These shoes are stylin' but they seriously stretch with normal wear. I'm sorry I listened to the reviews and ordered my normal size. I'd definitely recommend ordering at least one size down.

These are very cute shoes that are my new warm weather go-to. Disappointingly not as comfortable and supportive as my other Nisolo purchases. More unstructured and much less supportive. So I won't wear them for long walks. Otherwise, I'm wearing them a lot.

These shoes look and feel great, but as I wore them more and more, it becomes clear that there's little support in the sole. They wear well, actually - and look great even after having worn them A LOT - but my feet hurt now if I wear them even for half a day. That all said, I live in the city and do far more walking in these shoes than maybe they are intended for. I'd highly recommend them for their look and their versatility (they go with nearly everything I own!) and for their initial comfort and fit - but I'd advise against wearing them as a tourist or for a long day on your feet.

I love these shoes! That is....after they stretched out - yikes! I understand they are real leather and therefore take some time to work in, but it's a huge opportunity Nisolo is missing out on. They could offer a shoe stretching service or a product to help you aid in stretching your shoes out without having to endure a ton of blisters. At the very least sell some Nisolo branded bandaids ;)

These are cute and I really like them, but one of the shoes rubs my ankle slightly. I usually put a bandaid under it. I wouldn't fit into the next size down and I wore them before noticing so there's nothing I can do. They are so close to being perfect, but not quite.

good looking but no arch support

I really like how the leather sandal stretched out and is clearly very durable. Great! However, the interior of the shoe-bed only has a thin layer of tan coating, under which is a black so as I've worn them the coloring has worn away and makes the shoes look permanently dirty on the interior. :( Please change the composition of the sole!

These shoes are so pretty in-person. I wear a size six and first bought a 5.5 as originally recommended but they were too short and my feet squeezed in. I ordered the 6 and the length was much better. I've worn them frequently since May and my biggest observation is that as they stretched during the first four wears, my pinky toe started to pop though the sides. This has continued so that now they are so stretched that my toes stick out! The side straps are very stretched as well. Yes, these shoes stretch a lot as mentioned in the sizing guide. I know that the 5.5 still wouldn't have fit since the footbed, itself, was too short, but I have been sad that after only four months, the shoes I loved and coveted for so long stretched to a point where they are hard to wear for a full day of teaching any more.

I need to exchange them for a larger size -- I took the sizing guidance to heart, and ordered a half-size down, but they are not "snug." They are much much too small! I'll try again and update when I get the larger size. I am worried though about only ordering my normal size now, and I am considering ordering a full size up.

The leather on the sandal is really soft. Its style is versatile. Only downside is that it doesn't fit comfortably for me because I have wide feet. Had to send back and exchange for a half size larger.

Very pretty, but the fit was uneven. One of the shoes was smaller than the other. I had to return them.

I really love the way these sandals look and they have been my go to shoe for the last few months, however, I am pretty disappointed by how much they stretch out. I have a friend with the same pair and she has had the same issue. For her, the shoes became unwearable after a month or two. I bought my pair last July, and I love them, but a few months ago they started not staying on well. The shoes are great, and the soft leather is beautiful, but unfortunately they do not last and for the price, its pretty disappointing.

I received these a few days after pre-ordering them. They were beautiful! The leather is soft, and they look well-made. I followed the other reviews and suggested sizing, and I ordered a size 7 instead of my normal 7.5. They're tiny!! Yes, the soft leather does stretch out nicely after a few days, but the foot bed is too short, and my toes look like they're trying to pop out of woven leather. Not cute. I'm bummed, because I can't wear them and I can't return them. I wear a 7.5 in everything, but I think these run small, and I would have been fine with my actual size.

I was really excited to get these shoes. They were tight when I first put them on, but I figured I'd break them in after a while as Nisolo recommends. A year later and these shoes are still too tight for comfort.
