I like the jacket however Columbia's quality has gone down

I love the Omni-Heat series. I have a coat and a jacket, both bought several years ago at different times. They are medium and they are styled well. Plenty of room in the bust. This jacket is what I would call an epic fail in the design department. The medium does not have enough room across the chest, in the shoulders, armholes, and my bust is being smooshed. (FYIW, I am 5'5", 120 pounds, C cup.) The jacket then inexplicably poofs out around the hips. Still, I am going to keep it because, Omni-Heat, and I'll just deal with the design flaws, and not make any sudden moves, or breathe.

The overall quality is good, but there are design flaws that should be taken into consideration. First is the heat reflecting fabric; it inhibits the escape of sweat vapor by collecting it on the [metallic] surface and causes the liner to stick to the skin thus a long sleeve turtleneck or fleece needs to be worn if you're going to be sweating. The second item is the integrated cuffs; they are attached high up on the forearm and cause some headaches when trying to remove the coat they should attach much closer to the wrist. The 3rd issue is the design [cut]; the bust area is adequate, but the hip area is overly (plus) sized perhaps a design philosophy for those who carry a lot of junk in the trunk, or those want to twerk their way to work.

Bought this last spring and within a few days it ripped at a seam on the wrist. After the first time it got wet in a rain storm the water stains did not come out. The other day I found another tear at a seam. I love the fit and color but doesn't seem like the best quality.

Nice fit and comfy for 35 degree weather or above. Not warm enough for anything colder than that especially in Chicago. Did not pass the "feels like 24 degrees" at 33 degrees this morning. It was fine for later in the day. Will need to get the down jacket for Chicago winters.

Beautiful coat but runs small. I own columbia coats in small and large, this medium fit like a small!

Warm, but runs small. I wear XL but ordered an XXL for this jacket and it fit perfectly.

I liked the Joy Peak insulated hooded jacket, but the finish was way too shiny for me. It was a nice weight and fit well. I purchased a medium. I'm 5'2" and 130lbs. I liked everything except for the finish on the outside. I returned the jacket.

Overall a very nice coat. As other reviewer mentioned sizes runs small. Definately need to wear a sweater or other layer to stay warm for everyday use.

The color (blue) is rich, the fabric is light but very warm thanks to the latest insulation. I really want to keep this coat but it runs so small. I usually wear medium-large but bought an extra large which is uncomfortably tight along my chest and hips.

I really liked this coat--nice color (chalk), nice material, good quality, seemed warm, but the fit was very strange. The hip area bulges out like jodhpurs, which is't flattering. I ordered a S and returned it and was consdering ordering an XS until I read the reviews that also mentioned this design oddity.

The jacket itself is a very high quality jacket for warmth. The issue is with sizing. It seems that the sizing does not run consistent through the different colors. My wife tries on the black coat in this style. It preferred the green color but the store only had black so we decided to order online. When she got it she tried it on and it did not fit. Very disappointing.

It takes awhile for your body to start warming up the jacket for the heat to be held in. Just not that impressed by it. But I like the look. I love my other Columbia rain jackets, fleece jackets and winter coat.

It wasn't as warm as I had hoped, but otherwise it was fine. I returned it as looking for a warmer winter coat

The information on this jacket indicated that it ran small and to size up. I did and it was very large.
Also the "hip" area that has been cut into this jacket it too much. I ordered up because I wanted to be able to put on multiple layers for cold weather athletic games, but the hip area just made it no pleasing at all.

I love the jacket style and material. But its shape from waist down is too loose and did not fit well to me. I bought an S and I returned it for another jacket style.

I want to love this so badly, but the cut is huge in the waist and hips and I'm a very hippy gal too. I love the fleece interface in the hood, the finger holes in the sleeve and the omniheat. The fit is way off. The medium is slightly too snug and I'm usually a small or a medium. The large is a huge jump in size, it's more like an xl. So sadly, this style won't work for me.

I love the coat. It is beautiful BUT, for the price, I would expect better workmanship. Some of the stitching is already coming loose where the zipper is sewn in. I've had it for less than a week.

Seems like a great jacket but I haven't exactly tested it out yet. Love the snug cuffs at the wrist.
An overwhelming majority of reviews said it runs small and to size up, so I ordered a large but didn't find this to be the case at all. I'm 5'5", ~150lbs and almost always wear a medium in women's shirts and jackets. But I ordered a large since everyone said to size up and it was HUGE! I could wear a thick sweater *and* my waist-length puffy inside the large with several inches to spare! I've exchanged for a medium and will update when that one arrives and I can put it to the test.

I am 5'3, 150 lbs, and I ordered both a M and an L. The L was much too big in the chest (I'm a 36A), and while I didn't swim in the jacket below the waist, there was plenty of room through the hips and butt, and the jacket appeared almost skirt-like in that area. The M fit just a tad too tightly below the waist but otherwise perfectly. Trying to decide whether to keep it or return and look for another style or brand.

The Omni-Heat reflecting the body heat back with the help of the gold dots is just a gimmicky marketing spin. The gold dots can't reflect anything back unless they are exposed to light. The only way the body heat is retained inside the jacket is by how tight the fabric is woven, therefore releasing minimum heat away from the body. Omni-heat - lol. Too funny!
