GREAT OVERALL!

This is just the best coat ever. So warm, but never too hot. I had a plus size version but lost weight and needed a smaller size and was so relieved they still made them. The only thing I miss is the thumb holes in the inner wrist sleeve. And I wish Columbia was more sustainable in their production. But this coat is the investment you want and need to make to be able to deal with northern Midwestern winters.

Absolutely love this coat. One of the warmest one I have. I'm 5'2 and order a size medium and it fits great. It comes down to the perfect length for me and fit good with enough room for a hoodie. Highly recommend this coat

I bough this a year ago , I definitely used this jacket for the colder days. Today was feeling like 3 F and i was very confortable, in January I will used one more layer. Wonderful jacket

I was looking for a longer coat that was also waterproof and this is great! I'm 5'8" and ordered a large because I wanted room for thicker sweaters and sweatshirts and it fits perfect! I also like that is has an adjustable waist so I can tighten it a little if I'm wearing a thinner shirt and want the coat to have a little more shape. I like that the hood is also adjustable so I can tighten it around the bottom if it's windy out.

As usual, this coat lives up to the high standards of Columbia. Both style and performance are top notch.

This coat is well constructed. I like the length, below my knees (I am 5'2"). I think it will be very warm. It's a little heavy because of the length and maybe the water resistant outer. If you live in a climate with long, cold winters this may be the coat for you. I bought a size small (weigh 107#)

Beautiful. Lined with warming material. Love the 4 pockets. Nice and long. Goes almost to my knees.

This coat is warm to step into and has a lot of features to keep wind out, including a cover for the zipper and pockets. The hood is very effective as well. Some of the construction and sizing is awkward for me. I am 5'1" but choose a small for layering. The pockets are set low and with their depth, it is challenging to reach items like my phone/wallet/keys. The back of the coat hits just below the back of my knees in a way that is uncomfortable, but that is a body size/proportion issue.

I liked much the jacket, the only thing I would change is the zipper for another more comfortable and strong.

The body of the coat is very warm, but there is no way I can pull the elastic cords for the hood to be tight enough to block out drafts. I have taken to wearing a neck gaiter with this coat. The pockets are deep and plentiful, and I don't have to keep my phone inside the coat. Because if it's cold enough to wear that coat, it's too cold to unzip to get to an interior pocket. It is waterproof. The sizing is still a bit on the small side, even though I bought a large, I usually take a medium in coats. All in all, a warm coat with a hood problem.

I am 5'5 and usually wear around size 12 for pants and M/L for jackets. The medium fit but I wanted to be able to add several layers underneath, so I got the large. Without layers under, I was swimming in it. But with the layers it was just right. It was big enough to have a base layer, thin puffy jacket and a fleece underneath on top, and on the bottom i wore leggings, jeans, and sweatpants. This kept me pretty warm when staking out the northern lights for hours in Alaska. The coldest night was 5 degrees. My fingers and toes were freezing, but my center under the jacket was not. Also, keeping hand warmers in the pockets worked well because the Omni lining kept them hot for longer i think. Ive seen other reviewers say this was warm for them without any layers, but I did not find that to be the case. You absolutely need to layer, because the down filling is not that thick. However, if i ever make that trip again I would bring this same jacket with these same layers. Would like to be able to adjust the hood more, and wish the bottom pockets were slightly higher, and wish there was an option to cinch the waist in even more than the ones there, but these were minor issues. Happy with this purchase overall.

Warm parka , great quality, but - one star because the shape is not 100 percent flattering

Overall, I'm super sad the coat didn't work for me. I am only about 5 foot tall so the length of the sleeves and the coat in general made me look like I was swimming. The elastic around the wrists didn't hold the sleeves from going over my hands which was super annoying. I am returning the coat but so wish there was a petite option. I normally wear a large and went up to an XL as the other reviewers suggested but I would have been better in a large. If you prefer a larger fit definitely size up otherwise I'd say it's true to size.

I haven't had to have a heavy coat in decades but am about to move to a cold climate and a friend suggested OmniHeat technology. I like a lot about this coat already - little details that are new to me, like the snap to pull the hood back a little and snaps on the sides to fit it a little more. I'm a little concerned about the front zipper, which seems to be very persnickety and could be a deal breaker, I'm going to fuss with it a little tonight but if it takes three or four tries every time to get it to zip, that's not OK. I think I saw another reviewer mention the pocket placement and I'd second that they're a little low for what I think are my average arm length. Overall though, I think it'll be a great coat.

The jacket itself is beautifully made and almost everything I would want in a winter jacket. I'm 5' 1", 115 lb with wider shoulders and narrow hips, it fit great in the body and shoulders but was proportioned wrong in terms of the length. The waist and the pockets sit way too low, pockets were almost at my thighs. Made me look like i had super short legs and a long torso. The sleeves were also too long. Really wish they made these in petite sizes. Otherwise it was great quality, sturdy, waterproof, thick and would have kept me warm in cold Chicago winters. Like other reviewers, I also ordered the black with the black fur hood but received the dark grey with the brown fur hood...which wouldn't have been a problem really if it had fit.

This is a very nice winter jacket! I love everything about it except for the arm area. Armpits are tight and sleeves are snug. I would suggest going up a size if you like to layer underneath!

Black color is a lot lighter than actual black. Very warm coat.

Jacket is very warm and fits well (ordered an XLI'm 5'6 190lbs). However I ordered online and it showed black fur with the black jacket. The jacket I received is black but with light brown fur. I hate brown fur and had I known it wasn't actually black I wouldn't have ordered it. Returning for this reason alone.

It's a nice coat. I like the length and the fact that it has chest pockets (very few coats on the market have these for some reason). It's defintiely warm but it looks bulkier than the photos online. I ordered this coat in black, but in person its more of a gray color. The fur on the hood is light brown like the rest of the coats, the fur is NOT black like it shows online. The dimensions of the coat are a bit off too. The sleeves are very long and the bottom pockets are too far down, so I have to hunch over just to reach anything in the bottom pockets. I returned it because the fit was just too off for me to justify keeping it. I tried both the L and XL just to see if it would make a difference and unfortunately I think it's just not the right fit for me.

It fits true to size & warm with a classic look. The zipper was a struggle and I collar would not lay flat and stayed near my face & peripheral view- returned it

I usually have great luck with the way Columbia coats fit me - so I was hoping this would work out. Unfortunately its just odd fitting. Seems almost like a men's straight fit with too much fabric around the shoulders and the arms were baggy, and tighter in the chest, but then too much fabric in the back. The sleeves are also a smidge too long which really wouldn't matter that much if the rest of the coat fit properly. For reference I am 5'7" and 38D. The waist and bottom half of the coat fit me ok- but the upper pockets that are placed right at the bust were just awkward looking. I don't understand why zippered chest pockets make sense in a women's coat. The zippers stuck out a little because the front chest part was tight but then baggy in the back. It wasn't super obvious how they stuck out slightly but then the baggyness in the arms combined was just not flattering. Its a shame because the fabric is super nice as well as the quality of the insulation and other materials. Just not for women with curves.

The coat blocks wind better than a regular down parka. I have been very disappointed with the inconsistent function of the zipper. The pockets are also placed at a very odd and inconvenient height.
