They felt more like snow boots when I tried them on. Not like the other Sorel Joan Explorer's. Also, the color was more grey than green. I might have kept them, but I already have a grey pair of boots and was looking for something different.

I really had to work hard to get the right size, but it was worth it. I am taking off one star just for the inconvenience of the sizing issues. I am a solid size 7 in every shoe but SOREL and some Adidas it seems. I knew from prior SOREL experience that they would run small so ordered a 7.5. It fit IF I took out the insole and wore a thinner sock, neither of which I wanted to do. Returned for an 8 and it's true love. They are warm and so very stylish. The top of the boot is a little stiff against the leg when walking, but that might soften up or that may be just the way it is. Definitely not a deal breaker at all. I will say Zappos has the best customer service as they refund the money for a return to your card as soon as the package is scanned at the UPS store, not a week or two later like some places.

I bought 1/2 size up as I usually do with boots. Still too narrow and short, without socks on! Otherwise very cute.

These are beautiful and I was very excited to get them. Based on other reviews and a previous purchase in this brand, I went a half size up. The fit ended up being a strange combination of a toe that is too tight (my toes were overlapping inside the toe box) and a heel that was too big (I was slipping out and could foresee lots of blistering). Sadly I have to return.

These are really stylish, but the run narrow. I don't usually have an issue with width, and I really thought about returning them because they felt narrow through the toe area.

I purchased a size 7 1/2 because my size 7 was sold out. I had to return because 7 1/2 was too big.

Ordered a full size up for 'perfect fit'

The boots are cute, but too small. I'm a 9 but ordered 9.5 and they still felt maybe a whole size too small. I would need to add arch support if I kept them.

Felt a little large. Could have more cushion and insulation but overall they are comfortable and look cute.

Love the boots but ran small, exchanging for a half size larger

I wanted to like these and aesthetically they look fine, but they were so narrow they squished my toes. I even ordered a half size up. In addition, the footbed felt odd, like it was one of those rocker bottomed shoes. Unfortunately, they will go back. I’m bummed I lost the $30 coupon from Zappos.

These boots are the cutest for walking around New York without looking like a total utility shoe. I have some Sorel Joan wedges that are true to size from a few years ago, but these my daughter and I had to go 1.5 sizes up. The only issue with Sorel from a comfort and width problem for people with narrow feet is that typically the heel is narrow, but for whatever reason, Sorel makes the toe box narrow but the heel not narrow enough for people with narrow heels. Having to get them long enough to fit, the heel is much wider and we have to wear heavy socks so that we don't get blisters from heel slipping. We keep them because they are better looking than most snow boots. Next year maybe we will try to seek out something that has a better fit.

These are not really insulated, which was disappointing. They are true to size (because there is no extra padding/insulation). However, they are cute and pretty comfy.
