For closed toe shoes, I'm usually anywhere between 5.5Wide, 6 regular, or 6Wide due to slight bunions. I got Size 6 in regular width, and even with thick socks it was too big, most notably in the ankle area and foot/instep height. Width was great for my small bunions though. Unfortunately, I could slip my foot in and out with very little effort and struggled to walk in these. I didn't really feel like sizing down to 5.5 because I was worried the width would be too narrow in my case, so I returned and will be looking for another waterproof ankle boot. Aside from fit, I thought it was good quality and seemed waterproof. I liked that it was pretty lightweight as well. So if you don't have skinny ankles and tiny feet with bunions like me, and you prefer a slightly wider toebox with higher instep height than what seems average, then this shoe may work for you.

Material is beautiful. Unfortunately the heel is too wide. I am sad.

The foot was very narrow and the top of the boot rubbed against shins painfully

I have bunions and I ordered these boots on the strength of one reviewer who said they accommodated her bunion. Unfortunately, they did not agree with mine. Also, they were too short. I'm sort of between sizes. I wear a 7 in slip on shoes and a 7.5 in boots and tennis shoes. Usually, a 7.5 is works out fine in the length since I'm not quite a true 7.5, but these were slightly too short. Also, they are made out of the type of leather that scuffs very easily which took away any temptation I might have had to keep them.

Wanted to like these, but they weren't fitted enough -- felt sloppy. Realized I wanted a boot with a higher shaft.

The ankle height is low and I was afraid that snow/rain would get in. I also wasn't keen on the leather look, which was a tad too much on the casual/work boot side.

The fit was strange. It was too long but very tight in the forefoot and painful.

These are more of a UT (burnt) orange than red. Beyond that I would say they aren’t near as good as my current Sorel booties. No arch support and they slip on my heels. I wish Sorel was more consistent with their footwear.

Absolutely beautiful boots. Loved the color and everything about them - except heel kept slipping out with each step. The length of the boot was perfect - just the ankle opening was too deep. Saddest return I’ve even made.

Hurt

Rubbed up against my pinky toes and the ankle opening was very wide. The color is a beautiful dark moss green. Wish they had worked.

These are super cute, but sizing didn't work out. I'm normally a size 11/med width (and have other Sorel's) but the 11 was way too narrow, especially in the heel- could barely get my foot in the boot at all. The toe box felt really tight too, both length and width. So I returned and ordered a 12. The 12 feels enormous, flopping around on my foot, and my heel slides out with every step. Unfortunately no half size in between.

These are really nice looking but where it hits at the ankle is already rubbing right out of the box so they won't work for walking all around Manhattan. Sad to have to return them.

They are HUGE and I bought the recommended size, I dont know whether a half or full size down would work better. Very disappointed.

A beautiful shoe but I had a tough time getting them on. I am a true-blue 7.5 - 8 shoe size, and these were an 8. When I did get them on, very uncomfortable.

I liked the fit of the Sorel Emelie Chelsea better than the Emelie Chelsea 11. I didn't care for the leather on the Chelsea 11. I thought it looked a little wide and clunky on my foot. I found the heel/ankle too wide causing my foot to slip when I walked. In comparison, the original Emelie Chelsea seems to fit better overall and doesn't look as wide on the foot as the Chelsea 11. I like the leather much better. Also the ankle is narrower on the original Emelie Chelsea.

Wanted to love these boots. They are very stylish and the brown is a great color. I take a 9 shoe because I have long toes. My foot though is skinny. I tried these on with lightweight hiking socks. Way too big! Every step I walked out of the heel and even through the top of the boot. I’m not sure about the narrow comments. They didn’t feel narrow. Not purchasing the 8 1/2 because I think they’ll be similarly big throughout the boot and likely too small front to back.
