Right out of the box I put one shoe on, tightened the laces, and a grommet (silver round hardware surrounding lace holes) fell off.

I ordered these shoes and they had a extremely noticeable smudge on the outside of them. Everyone kept pointing it out. I was so upset

These were my favorite shoes for the month and a half they lasted, but the rubber sole started separating from the suede after about a month and a half. I'm pretty disappointed in my first pair of Vans.

Having worn multiple pairs of VANS sk8 hi mte over the years, I recently purchased the new updated version (with the newer sole design) and immediately noticed that the shoe is much wider than previous years. I have regular/medium width feet and they were SWIMMING in the 9.5 (my correct sizing for Vans). The shoe is also longer now. The increased outer profile is also immediately noticeable aesthetically, not in a good way (clown feet). Other comments about MTE in general. It is true, the soles are very slippery in wet and the rubber does get beat up eventually and with the typical separation from the uppers, but I typically can beat these up hard for 12+ months before I need to replace them. However, not sure what do do about these new fitment issues, don't think I can purchase or recommend this line anymore.

No. I have been purchasing the MTE line for a few years now, and wearing vans for about 20. These, are horrible! They widen at the toe, the lining is paper thin, the only stiff to this shoe is the back of the shaft up the ankle. These are horrible! No. If your going to chose between these or the MTE that are $130, chose those, just size up 1 full size because they are tight.

I wore these lightly for one season, suede started coming apart inquired with Vans who said warranty on craftsmanship is only 6 months. Buyer beware.

The shoes are scuffed and dirty. These are a gift for my daughter and I will have to return them. As they were sent this way i am to assume that this is a low quality item. I'm not happy.

One shoe had a deep crease down the middle of
The tongue. Was given no options besides returning. Not even a discount for inconvenience after talking with someone from Vans.com

Loved the warmth they provided in winter, but soon after only a few weeks of wear the glue on outsole separated and ate falling apart
