I enjoy Smart Wool's cushion crew socks as all-around wear. This particular pair is great with over-the-ankle type boots or high-top shoes. They go well with any type of outfit, shorts, jeans, gym-wear, etc. Plus, being wool, they don't soak up sweat and keep your feet dry all day.

got them as a gift with my order, haven't tested them yet while hiking, but used them for a wedding, I know wierd. they're comfy, managed to dance and walk a lot with dress shoes, if they're this good doing fancy activities, I'm shure they'll excell on more rough activities as they're intended to!

Used to break in my insulated hunting boots. They were comfortable and wicked moisture well. Came out of the wash looking just like new.

recently used em for hiking and working outside. Just putting them on they felt comforting.But most importantly to me is they've proved light enough to wear in 80ish degree weather w/o feet getting hot (in both rubber and in partial-mesh type shoes) and still provide cushioning. I tried the Hike Light cushion in mid crew and crew- both types are wonderful!!
