I have two pairs of these pant/leggings and attempting to buy a third going into another winter in NE Ohio. I'm a professional dog walker, and I wore my first pair just about every single day of the fall through early spring, wearing the crotch area thin! They sell out fast so I only had this pair to wear that actually kept me the warmest and dry in the elements. They work excellent for blocking wind, water and snow!!! And of every single pair of fleece leggings I've tried (probably 20 different brands) these pants work the BEST. When temps dip into the lowers 20's and under, that's when you truly need another layer for added protection/warmth. Otherwise these do their job perfect. I'm 5'4 amd 120 lbs, wearing the smalls. They fit very comfortable on me- not super tight like a legging but fit like a legging. They do slide a little, but easy to pull back up. Lots of length too, so if you're taller they should be fine. The waist is comfortable too- more of a mid rise and doesn't hit in that weird too high waist area. Hoping more smalls will be in stock next week! I'll be keeping my eye on it!

I love these pants and had a pair from 20/21 season that were perfect. This years version the siZing is WAY off! Original pair Med was a little loose in leg and waist. This yr i can barely pull the pants up they are so tight! What the heck??? I see I am not the only person with this problem. Sounds like manufacturing defect! These are amazing pants but be warned that they messed up the siZing this year. I unfortunately needed them for a trip so I kept the tight pair but they aren't nearly as comfortable as the first!

i got these for cross/back country skiing. i have the 250 long undies and the intraknit wool pants in medium and they're kinda baggy so i went with medium for these because i wanted them to fit tight but not super tight. unfortunately, these are super tight, with no extra room, and a bit long. i thought about sending them back for a larger size, but i knew they would most certainly be too long. i would hem them, but with the zipper at the ankle, that doesn't work so well. for reference, i'm an athletic build 5'6", 130lbs. i also have small long undies that fit snug but not too tight, so maybe i just got a melon for fit on these wind proof pants? the style is rad though so i'll keep them

The pants themselves I imagine are great. The inseam is just way too long for me. I wish Smartwool would make petite or short sizes with 28" inseams, and petite tops with shorter arm lengths. Great product that is totally inaccessible to me now.

I love these pants so much I bought 2 more pairs in the season end sale. I live in the PNW and they're perfect for a windy rainy day trail running or just hiking around town. They work and are super flattering.

I've been running in these since I got them and wearing consistently afterwards to grab a bite to eat or run an errand. They wick very well, don't carry an odor, and stay warm.

Great leggings for downhill skiing. I hate how most downhill ski pants are stiff and thick, these are my new go to downhill pants. Warm, moveable and great looking.

These are super warm - I wore them snowshoeing in MT yesterday. Love the fit, the pockets. the different fabrics (the stretch nylon on the thighs), and the zippers on the bottom.

I purchased these for skate skiing. I had been using a similar style pair from another brand, but these are far better! The wool keeps me warm without the need to layer, and the wind blocking panels do a great job buffering wind, yet at the same time, I do not overheat and the wind layer is breathable enough that I don't end up with sweaty legs. I highly recommend these leggings for winter activities like running and any type of Nordic skiing.

#sweepstakes I love these leggings for winter running. The ankle zips, wind panels, and small side pockets are all nice design touches that elevate this legging. For me, they stay put while I am running and don't ride down. If you are between sizes and worried about riding down I would size down.

I use these for running in 15-35 degree F weather. They have two side pockets (good size for keys/small items, not a phone), ankle zippers for easier on/off, and wind panels on the front for added warmth. They run true to size, and for me generally stay put/don't ride up or down. Highly recommend for winter running!

I am 5’ 2” and my weight is 120. I bought a small because my mid-section is where all my fat is. The waistline comes just under my belly button. The length are long on me but wearing them with boots you cannot tell. I wore them walking in 20 degrees with a twenty mile an hour wind and I wasn’t cold. The waist on me wasn’t tight so no running in these. They’re just very comfortable non see through definitely wind resistant great form fitting leggings. Thank you Zappos for your wonderful customer service!

These leggings are substantially warmer than other base layers I have for skiing. They are soft on the inside and wind proof on the outside. SO COMFORTABLE. I wear them around the house in the winter as well. 100% recommend
