Everyday Minnesota comfortable winter parka. Because it's "breathable" I layer Northface vest/shirt underneath with -10 degrees temps and a north wind 10+ mph.
Quality build, incredible no jam zippers with lots of pockets!

This coat gets the job done in frigid temperatures, I would buy again.

I was looking for the warmest coat I could find for a reasonable price point and the McMurdo parka kept appearing as the top choice balancing both criteria. It is a very warm jacket, has ample pockets, nice styling - great for extended time outdoors.
I would say the fit is generous (maybe a tad too much room in the body vs. other jackets of the same size) which I notice more when I don't have a lot of extra layers on.

Quality jacket, and quite warm. Only downside is it's not fitted and quite boxy, which allows the wind to blow in from underneath.
NF please offer a slim cut option!

Coat is extremely warm, have gotten multiple compliments wearing it, and i've only had it for a couple weeks. I initially ordered an XL. I found that the coat runs a little big in size. Which in a world where manufacturers are trying to use less and less material, is a breath of fresh air. Returning the coat through the mail was a breeze, and free I might add. Ordered the L, and couldn't be happier. It is a very warm and puffy coat. I live in the Northeast. It might be a little too warm for parts of the US, depending on where you live. Great Company, great to deal with, and great product. They truly make stuff to last.

The Size is way off, but generally speaking, this is a very nice parka, a pity that I have to return it for another one, choose 2 sizes down would be suitable.

I have been using the jacket for a little over a month now and I must admit it is great. The reason I am not giving it 5 stars is that I don't love the fit. I was hoping for the jacket to have a tighter fit. Also, I think the hood could be a little "deeper" (similar to how Canada Goose) to protect you better during winter storms.

Love this coat. I have the McMurdo II and it is amazingly warm. Feature-rich fantastic coat, love all the pockets and the super warm fill. My only con/recommendation would be to add armpit vents, as this coat quickly becomes hot when worn indoors for any amount of time. Wore this to an outdoor hockey game in single digits and was nice and toasty.

Very warm, good fit, but at times I feel like I'm being pricked by the feathers inside

Love love love this coat! The weather had been mild all of December but I finally got to wear it recently and it definitely separates me from the cold!

I walk to work even in winter so I am using this jacket regularly. Warm enough for NYC, looks decent and has multiple pockets. May not be warm enough for more outdoory activities when its windy and below freezing.

I'm 6'1" 275 lbs. XXL is quite big on me. I like it that way for layering underneath, but if you like the coat for style, you may want to size down from your normal size. Warm down to -35c with a sweater on underneath. No hood depth or waist adjustment are a couple negatives, but not deal breakers at the price point. Hopefully I get 15 years out of this one like I did my last north face parka.

This was an Xmas gift for my husband and when he tried it on he loved it!! It hasn't been too cold in NY yet this year but I have been a North Face customer and fan for years and have no doubt this jacket will keep my hubby warm!

It fits a little too big for me. I am 147 lbs, 5'11'' and got myself a size M. The sleeves are too long they reach the bottom of my fingers. If you want to layer up then buy a regular size you usually wear. If not, get a size down. Haven't worn it out because its too big. It's also not as warm as expected. Might return it and get a new one but i think the S is currently out of stock.

The coat was for my husband. It is very attractive and quite warm. Seems to be wind and water proof as advertised. Worth the money spent.
My only complaint is with whatever delivery service was chosen by the company. They delivered to a neighbor's house that I recognized from the delivery photo and I had to trek down the street before anyone stole it. When I complained through the shipping company they gave me an auto response saying it was delivered, end of story.
Love the coat but my experience with the shipping will make me think twice about ordering again from the website.

Good quality jacket. Bit large and design is worse than previous version.

The McMurdo Parka is a great buy for the buck. Super warm and lightweight. The coats run big so make sure to get your measurements.

Great coat, wish it was longer. Normally I'm a medium, but size is a bit big so had to take small.

It is missing the mesh lower inside stretch "pocket" it was flexible and held a ton. The hood is not detachable like the old one, and no elastic since cords on the inside to snug up the fit. Otherwise the cut is the same and there is a bit more down in it.
