Never had a down coat before. I'm amazed how light it is and how warm it is.

Great jacket. Very warm and fits well. I am 200 lbs at 5'9" and the large is a good fit.

When I was stationed in upstate New York doing my base in-processing at the supply section a sergeant directed me to a rack of parkas with fur trimmed hoods (N-3B) and told me to select one in my size. Just coming in from North Carolina I questioned the need for such an 'arctic' wear item and he assured me in a couple of months I would be glad I had it. He was right of course and this 600 fill down North Face parka is a much nicer version of that old N-3B issue jacket I had in the Air Force. It is very well made with water resistant fabric and the power of lightweight, warm down insulation; the faux fur hood trim is easily removable. The fit is comfortable and has room for layering which I really appreciate, so many competing makers offer jackets that are sized for marathon runners and are too snug for my taste. I'm 5'8" and about 160# and the Medium was perfect for me. If you can snag one on sale from TNF this parka is a super bargain.

Exceptional parka! I can't imagine you would be cold in Alaska with this parka on. It's a great parka for anyone dealing with these cold winters.

Comfortable, and many pockets. The bottom could use a string to make it tight. The head cover is nice that you can detach it. Love the color

Purchased this for my partner and he absolutely loves it. He skies a lot so a waterproof, warm parka was necessary. He says it is the perfect coat and stylish too. Recommend.

I love this jacket! I am always warm and no longer dread winter days. I generally run really cold, but since I got this jacket I've not been worried about it.

I'm a big outerwear fan and like having a lot of options for whatever the weather throws at me. Down jackets and parkas are definite go-to's for me when it gets below 40 degrees and the wind is kicking up but finding one that's durable and warm with a fit that isn't tailored for skinny marathon runners can be tough. The McMurdo parka by TNF checks all the boxes with 600 fill down that is windproof and waterproof. If you don't like the faux fur around the hood it snaps right off. The fit is relaxed and comfy so you can layer up or down depending on your preferences. I'd like to see some large inside pockets to stow gloves and a hat but otherwise the pockets are good. The front zipper is also pretty beefy which is great as a lot of other companies cheap out with this critical component. Finally, if you're a patient sort and wait until the end of the season you can score this parka at a nice discount making it a great buy in terms of quality and value.

Perfect parka for a little below zero to about 25 degrees. Comfortable. The hood is perfect for your shaved heads, gentlemen, if that's your preferred "hairstyle".

Living in Western NY, my husband's year old parka just wasn't cutting it. So, I purchased this coat for my husband for Christmas. He comes home every wintry day with another positive comment about his new coat. Examples of these comments are: the cuffs close down, it's long enough that the wind doesn't go up my back, the velcro closures almost close themselves once the coat is zipped, it's REALLY warm, and today after walking our dog in a veritable blizzard..... IT'S WATERPROOF!! I'd have to say he is enjoying his new coat. Thanks, The North Face for offering such a great product.

Love this coat, very warm fits a little big but it works out when I have layers on. Wish the all black version was on sale too unstead of the gray and black one that I got.
