I've worn this basic model for over a decade now and have Lids in two colors, Moss Green and Charcoal Heather. One or the other is my year-round companion in the PNW: in fall/winter/spring I wear it alone or under a hood and in the summer I keep it handy for cool evenings or tentless nights. Simple, but stylish, moderately warm, reasonably priced...can't go wrong.

First of all, I am extremely picky about knit hats. They have to be totally on point for me to wear. I chose the sea foam color and was not disappointed with the shade - it's a beautiful tone. At first, I thought the hat might be a touch too small but after a few wears it stretched to perfection! I love the material, I love the design and I love the color of this awesome knit hat!!! I am a carpenter from Maine (with very little hair) and work in all sorts of inclement weather. I wanted a simple beanie style hat that would not rotate on my head with use and would be warm/dry when undertaking physical work. This hat fits the bill perfectly! Also, I don't like hats that creep up my head while working and this one stays in place.

This is the second "lid" that I've bought. They're comfy and warm without being bulky or itchy. And they're not too warm for in between days. I teach tai chi outside all through the winter and I hike/walk just about every day. If the day warms up it fits in my pocket.

Bought it for my boyfriend for Christmas and I know he is going to love it. He loves Smart Wool!

This is the cutest hat. I bought it for my husband who is hair challenged (bald) and he loves it. Doesn't make his head sweat but keeps his noggin warm. AND a great price pint. I'm eyeing the glove liners next. They are a nice lightweight alternative to big gloves.
