Though very comfy, they do not stay dry as my past goretex shoes have. I live on far northern Oregon Coast and walk in rain a lot - not as good as others I've had

My job requires that I do an absurd amount of walking, so I turned to Merrell to replace my seventieth pair of "high quality" shoe because I loved my previous pairs of moabs for hitting trails. This pair was So So So close to fitting the bill and being perfect, but I ran into an unfortunate problem: the shoe is not wide enough for my genetic monster bunions. If I go up a size, they will no longer fit perfectly everywhere but the toe. This has caused me great distress. Trying to wear them anyway results in excruciating pain by the end of the day. Please, please offer a wider option in these shoes for those of us who suffer from having stupid feet :(

Love the look and weight, but too close on the toe. Needs a higher toe box.

I've been wearing the Merrill trail blazer for many years. It's always been my go to shoe for a light run or long walk. Since that shoe is discontinued, I figured this was the next best thing. I ordered a pair on sale, (which are not returnable) recently, and it turns out they really hurt my feet. I'm so bummed I know shoes are a personal preference for each individual, but this shoe is not at all similar to the trailblazer, so I don't think it's a good replacement. The trailblazer was part of my cure for plantar fasciitis, but I think this shoe will just aggravate it. I figured I'd take the time to write this review in case, if anyone else is looking for a replacement for the trailblazer.

Not even 20 miles on these shoes and the tread has ripped and the sole is splitting from the shoe. This is my third pair of Merrell's and these do not compare to the others. Absolutely destroyed my feet even though they were the same size as my old ones. Opt for a better option especially if hiking downhill at steep grades.

My 1st pair of hiking shoes lasted 4 ever. Although not this exact model, my 2nd pair started to crack within a year... The plastic used on the front has cracked and split. Very disappointing since it's very comfortable.

Have had many Merrel shoes these are the first to fail. Bought 2 months ago and have been walking on pavement and grass verge of a gravel road, no trails. Noticed a small tear at the toe crease after a few weeks of walking about 2 miles a day. Gore Tex failed on a walk after a heavy rain where there was puddling. The outer sheath/layer is not adhered to the base shoe material so I think could further damage when trail hiking. I bought to use for an overseas assignment of two years so very disappointed that the shoe is failing. They fit perfectly right out of the box and feel both sturdy and lightweight. I like them. Maybe I got a unlucky pair but cannot recommend

These shoes are very uncomfortable especially after a few hours on your feet. Don't know if it would be better if I ordered one size larger.

I bought these to walk my dog. I need something waterproof for the morning grass that has dew. My inner heel sock got wet. And days following the toe and heal of my sock was wet. They sent me another pair. I have just started trying them. We shall see. Fingers crossed the first bear was just defective.

I tried on 2 different sizes of this style shoe. I wanted it to fit because I loved the style & goretex. Unfortunately, there was heel slippage with the shoe. I had read a hiking magazine review that said the same thing but I wanted to try them for myself because that's how much I liked the style. There was heel slippage in the size that was too small & also in the one that fit correctly so it is a design issue. Heel slippage can cause blisters - a walker & hikers nightmare. I ended up with a different style of Merrells that are waterproof & fit much better.
