Excellent for hiking with excellent stability but careful with solid ice, no grip. In trails with rocky terrain, best in gripping. Insulation is superb.

I have been a customer of this brand for more than 20 years, and with each new purchase it continues to surprise me. These boots are much lighter than the previous ones, but just as resistant and beautiful.

Ordered men's size 9.5 med width for female size 11. Fits perfect. Looks good on. Ordered black. This is an all-around perfect boot for me. Good comfortable stack height, heel-to-toe drop, with the stiffer mid-sole that I prefer and a good, stable heel crash pad. My feet are happy in these. If you prefer a more "squishy pillow effect" (I don't) just add one or change out the insole. Have not worn out in the rain yet to comment on waterproof. Will add to review in 6 months. Like so much will order a pair in the "rock" color as well.

These are the best hikers I have owned. I have been hiking year round for the past fifty years and these hikers are the best.lightweight, comfortable and warm.

Very comfortable and warm for a winter White Mountain day hike. Temps were in the low teens and hiked in comfort in one pair of merino wool socks.

With all the ice here recently, I am very impressed with the traction I get from these warm, comfortable boots.

I think these boots very comfortable. They definitely do they job in the rain / snow . Plus you can were them all day . They're not heavy on your foot-heels. They go great with jeans or khakis . I like them a lot .

Very high tech and versatile. I'd have ordered 2 pairs but we don't get enough snow where I am.

I use this at work for the post office and this are the only shoes that I found don't hurt my feet while keeping them warm

I wanted to wait a while to write this, I bought these back in November (currently January 8th) I'm ecstatic about the performance these boots have endured. I work for fedex and im constantly trudging through rain/snow as well as jogging, crouching, going up and down steps etc. And they are holding together like a champ! My feet stay dry and warm all day and they are so comfortable that I don't even rush to take them off after a work day. I've had some great boots before (and loved them) but they didn't really hold up to the ware tare I needed them to endure. Either they soaked my feet or they started falling apart. These merrill boots are so good in my opinion, I already plan on getting another pair in the future. If you're looking for a boot that can perform as well as keep you warm, you stumbled apon them!

I have been purchasing Merrill hiking boots/shoes for more than 15 years. They have always felt broken in and ready to go right out of the box. This pair of winter hiking books took a bit of breaking in before they were comfortable for hiking. There are metal backing plates for the two upper lace eyelets that initially rested against my ankle bones making them a bit uncomfortable. I was able to overcome this issue by making sure the tongue was tucked under the sides of the boot when lacing them up. Once this issue was resolved it did not take long for them to become as comfortable as all the rest of the Merrell hiking boots I have had over the years. In addition, these insulated boots are perfect for cold weather hiking and kept my feet comfortable, warm and dry during a recent winter Yellowstone trip to do some hiking and snowshoeing some of which was in below 0 temperatures. The soles seem to be a little more flexible than my other pairs of hiking boots which may give a little better grip on slippery surfaces. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with these winter hiking boots and would not hesitate to recommend them to other winter outdoor enthusiasts.

Merrel has upped their game. This boot is super comfy and warm. Great for day and hiking. Excited to use this for hunting I live In Wyoming and we have snow from nov to april. Great in deep snow and keeps my toes warm.

I have lost a lot of weight so it's difficult to fill the boot. I am impressed with the comfort level and it feels very light during daily wear.

After wearing Merrill boots for years they finally have an insulated every day boot. I bought a pair with 200 gram insulation and they seem to be fairly warm and super comfortable. They also fit true to size for me. I can't speak to their longevity since they're new but I expect them to last as well as the Merrill's purchased in the past.
