Shoe very comfortable but on rough terrain the narrow sole profile allows your foot to role. The sole profile is more than 1/4in less than my earlier model

I really like the style and fit of the shoe. I am very disappointed with the annoying squeak that that comes from the heal arch support area on the shoe. It is embarrassing walking through the office I work in or into a restaurant and having every head turn as I walk by.

Been buying the stretch chameleons for years. The inside of this most recent pair sqeaks loudly while walking or running. Never had a pair do this. Being in Law enforcement, this is not ideal as everyone can hear you walking. I'm very disappointed. I ise to love these shoes

Sizing runs small compared to another pair I tried in store.

The Chameleon series shoe WAS the greatest shoe ever developed! At least until the latest Chameleon came out. I have faithfully worn the chameleon from the beginning, however the latest shoe is a huge disappointment. When walking on a slope it feel like my foot is sliding off the sole of the shoe. An all-terrain shoe that no longer works in all-terrain. I sincerely hope they bring back the old design.

I've been wearing these off & on for a few months now, and they are horrendously unstable. I've had instances where I've been standing still and shifted my weight and rolled my ankle almost enough for a sprain. Walking on slightly uneven ground, same thing. The elastic laces don't provide enough suplost and the sole is so narrow that these shoes love to roll. I replaced the elastic laces with real laces last week, so hopefully that helps, but they are definitely not the easy on/off option for me. And yes, I can cruise around all day in a pair of loosely laced, or untied Trail Gloves, Moab Flights, etc with zero issues. Originally purchased as a light/cool pair of summer shoes for SWAT callouts, but that's clearly not going to work. For now they're around the house shoes at best.

You know I wasn't going to say anything but seeing this email asking for a review kinda set me off. I have been buying these shoes for like 3 years for work because I go into peoples houses and I find the slip-on's really convenient. I had to exchange the first pair because the size has suddenly changed. And the second pair they sent me the heel back is defective on one of the shoes (super annoying on a slip on). I'm not sure if Merrell has changed factories or is having staffing problems but my last purchase really left me with a bad taste. Which really sucks because I love these shoes. They make me look even more dorky than I am but they fit my lifestyle perfectly. I'm sure I will order another pair and I just hope they are more like the product I'm used to. Normally I would give this shoe a 5 star all day. More if I could. But this last purchase just left me feeling burned.

I have worn Merrells for years, and these are the most uncomfortable ones I have ever owned. It seems they are not what they used to be.

My Merrell Chameleons took an immediate trip back to Merrell as they arrived damaged. I own many pairs of your shoes, but the Chameleons looked and turned out to be just too fragile for a over active person like me.

One side started squeaking when walking. Sole must have separated and ended up buying another brand.

I've been wearing Chameleons for years and years. Just ordered this new pair and they squeak and squawk like crazy. At first I though it was the rubber sole on the hard floor, but they are incredibly noisy on carpet as well. Does anyone have a cure?

I've had these shoes over a year now, and they still squeak with every step! Merrell changed the design of the Chameleon II several years back, and I had to give those away, too. Then I was so pleased to see the II's back, that I bought 3 pair - figuring they would change again, and they did with the 8. The 8's are attractive, but wear like a knock-off! No comparison to the original II's. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BRING THEM BACK???

I used to love Merrell shoes, but am striking out with every model over the last few years. These are heavy and not very comfortable. The left and right shoes feel drastically different/inconsistent. I had high hopes but these will be returned. I miss my old trail glove 2's :-(

These are such a poor knockoff of the original chameleon. I have the same shoe as it was produced with the different sole. The previous had small round treads. The other was so much more comfortable and much wider. They were just normal width but provided much more room for your foot. Laying them side by side you can see how cheaply made this new version is..it's apparent how much thinner and cheaper this the one looks just on the outside. I've purchased three new shoes from you and this is my last. They all are too skinny and uncomfortable and I'm not wasting any more money on a shoe company that no longer makes a reputable shoe. Just not the same anymore so searching for another company that doesn't charge such high prices for such poorly constructed footwear.

Not sure what is going on with quality lately but the last 3 pairs I've had the laces (which are not replaceable) have broken and now the top eyelet has broken on my current two pairs (one pair sent to me as a replacement. I'm done with Merrell!

I have been buying merrell shoes for 25 years, I could always buy my size of mens 9 and they fit perfectly, but now I have tried three different pairs and even went a size bigger and they are not wide enough so I think they must be making these shoes in china so they no longer fit. So I will no longer be buying merrell shoes and I,m really disappointed I always liked how light weight and rugged they were.

Completely disappointed you can't get the waterproof version anymore, I also used this for work in wet conditions (winter, spring, summer and fall as Michigan weather is completely unpredictable!) in the irrigation industry and they worked perfectly. Bring back the waterproof version!!! This version is useless!!!!

I cannot understand why Merrell only makes this shoe in such a narrow width. I've had a pair of Chameleon 8s for several years now and, despite not being wide enough for my feet, I've worn them regularly. I decided to order a new pair despite the fact that they are not available at all in wide and when I received these shoes, it turns out they're even narrower than my old pair. I compared them sole-to-sole and the newer model is at least " narrower.
