Comfortable but breaking down too fast. Inside lining at the heal has started to rip and expose structural support. These have not been worn that much and the sole and exterior remain in good shape.

This is the fourth pair of Chameleons that I have purchased over the years and the only pair I have had issues with. They are loud! They squeak/creak when I walk in them, loudly enough that people comment on it. Thought the noise would mellow with a few miles put on them. No such luck, still noisy. With that being said, they are a comfortable, good looking shoe. Next time I purchase, I will just wander around the house and listen, before I start wearing them for travel.

I've had maybe 5 pairs of these shoes over the past 20 years. I've returned two because of excessive squeaking that didn't go away with the talcum powder trick. When on, they are extremely comfortable and provide good support for all day work on your feet. My biggest complaint, as many others have mentioned, is that they are VERY DIFFICULT to put on. The opening for your foot is just too small. You have to force your foot into the shoe, push down, wiggle it, raise it back up, pull on the cloth loop, put it back on the ground, push, push, push. And if you do this enough times, the inside heel of the shoe eventually tears or the plastic support breaks. You really need a long shoehorn to put these shoes on comfortably without damaging the heel over time.

Wanted to love them, but, returning. The stretch neoprene makes it a struggle to put them on. I don't want to dpend ten minutes putting shoes on. Styling is great, they were comfortable once I got them on.

I love Merrells and have been wearing the for years (10+). I bought these to replace those because they have the stretch feature which I love. Sadly they were too small for me and I had to return them. before I could wear them outside.

I've owned about 6 pairs of these over the years. All sized the same; this pair looks long and skinny, a bit odd compared to my old ones. I mainly use them to slip on for errands or a short walk. The exterior of the shoes and sole wear well and last a long time. The interior of the shoe at the heel seems to wear out pretty quickly. I like the look and feel; just wish the interior of the show was a bit more robust.

I love the look and feel of these shoes. However they have started making noise after wearing them a few times. It's a crunching sound that comes from the heel of the shoe I tried the baby powder trick and also changing insoles but no luck. When removing the insole you can feel a gap between the inside heel of the shoe and the sole material. I'm assuming that's what causes the noise but there's no way to fix that. I want to wear these more often but the noise makes that hard to do in more quiet situations. You can also feel the crunch when you walk so that's a little off putting.

Actually, they were a gift for my adult son. They were too small, and not what he expected. They were returned.

I like merrill, but the exterior toe construction needs improvement on alot of your shoes, especially chameleon. They come apart way to easy, looks bad on an otherwise good looking shoe.. getting into chameleons I use a shoe horn, otherwise the interior heel construction gets all torn up easily as well.

Great shoe true to size. Just not made for large instep feet.

Very comfortable out of the box, sizes run true. Almost np break in period, but they do get better with time. My only complaint is my pair lasted about 4 months or normal, everyday wear. Now they're coming apart on the seams at both sides and the toe, to the point where my sock can be seen. The price isn't worth the durability you get put of them I'm afraid.

Hello, I purchased these shoes in late September 2022. Right out of the box they squeak, not the soles but something in the interior. I've worn them in some noisy areas in hopes they'd break in. So far absolutely no improvement. Has anyone else experienced this? I have several types of Merrell shoes and have no experienced anything like this.

The chameleon is a great shoe. But the ones I wore before these I liked better. I don't know the name but they are basically the same but have lower sides.

The shoes are exactly what one would expect, with the exception of a defect in the left heel. Unfortunately, the website says I cannot return them if worn, so apparently I'm stuck with this annoying squeak and squish.

I've been wearing Merrell sneakers for well over 20 years. I still own about 8 pair in various colors. In the last 5 to 7 years (or so) the quality has diminished GREATLY. The materials are much cheaper as is the construction. The last three pairs purchased had to be returned as the fit & quality is so poor. Prices go UP, quality has gone WAY DOWN!!

They are comfortable but heavy. I really like the stuff sole. Love the no tie laces.

On my fourth pair of Cham and the 8's lasted not as long as the heel liner starts to split. Love the stretch just wish the heel lasted longer as still wearing 7s as the 8s didn't last

My last 2 pairs have had an annoying squeak. Every step with my left foot sounds like I'm farting. I'm looking for another style or brand until I know this has been corrected.

Support on the heel collapses in less than three months.

It took less than six months for the inner liner to wear through on the side of the heel. The fit isn't quite as glove-like as the original.

out of the box the right shoe has fit well and have had no issues with it, the left shoe is a different beast. it fits well but the arch support has been nothing but a pain (literally), out of the box it was almost unwearable it hurt so bad. i have tried 4 different insoles and nothing has helped. i know its just my luck that i ended up with a lemon, i have worked at it till its at least wearable and hope with more time it will break it more. worst case may be forced to cut out the arch support or part of it, but saving that till im out of options.
