First: I trail run 35 miles a week in the Rockies and race half marathons or longer. I'm not buying these for mall-walking. I've put about 5,000 actual miles on the Cascadia line. I've been loyal to Brooks for more than a decade. The soles are a beast and will really protect you on loose rock or ice, but every new release is just adding more and more upper problems. The 15 was tolerable, but the Cascadia 16 has this bizarre laminate crease right where the toe knuckles sit. It's folding then snapping back with a noticeable scrape. The foot feel is like a pinching patent leather dress flat. I think I'm done with Brooks. Their design department is just getting sloppy. They don't know or listen to their market anymore, and I'm not wasting time on a shoe that's going to cause bunions. They need to decide if they're a mall fashion brand or actually want to appeal to competitive runners.

Compared to the Brooks Cascadia 15, this shoe is slightly wider and the midsole is slightly softer. It's a comfy cushy bouncy shoe. I have narrow heels but wide toes with bunions, so I typically order a size wide to accommodate my toes and crank down the laces to keep my heels locked in. Compared to the Cascadia 15's of the same size and width, these are slightly wider and little sloppy in the heel/midfoot area, but still comfortable. The length runs a little shorter than other brands but consistent with other Brooks shoes I've owned. They still feel stable even though they no longer have the "pivot posts". Overall I'd give it 4.5/5, less 0.5 since the midfoot is a bit sloppy.

I'm literally jumping for joy here, because Cascadias are back! Cascadias have always been MY shoe. I like the trailrunner tread, the bright colors, the supportive feel, and the just-enough cushion. I have owned at least 6 pairs of Cascadias, but my last pair before this was disappointing. I skipped a few generations and strayed to other brands/models. I struggled continuously with these other brands and models! I finally picked these up again and they're back. Lots of toe room for wide toe boxes (not the same as wide feet), lots of supportive stitching, and lots of love in the colors and design. If you are like me and DO NOT like the sock trend in running shoes today, give these a try!

I have worn Brooks Cascadia for 2 decades as a trail runner. You know you have found your shoe when you can put them on new and do a 5 mile run in well worn comfort! They are super cute - have already gotten compliments - I just wish they would break out of the tendency to create gender based color schemes. I would have preferred the Cascadia 16 choices they had for MEN!! But other than that - they are such a solid shoe for technical trail running and Zappos is an easy, reliable, efficient way to order!

These are super cute in the basil/duffel bag/coral colorway, but they don't seem to fit well in the heel area. With every step my heel slips up and down. I've tried locking them in place by tying them differently but that only hurts the top of my feet, also I have starting getting a mysterious pain around my achilles on my left foot....I'm a bit frustrated as I can't seem to find a good pair of shoes that fit and have a decent colorway that suits my preferences. Back to the drawing board....

Took these straight out of the box on a 12 mile trail run, and as always with Brooks, zero rubbing or uncomfortable spots. With regard to fit, they most definitely have a wider toe box than my Caldera 5's, but Im ok with that as the Calderas were never my favourite. I have normal width feet, and I loved how my toes had plenty of room to do their thing, if you have narrow feet these may not work for you. The sole also has a more rigid feel and less cushion, but again not a bad thing, just different. I ran some pretty rough terrain and they kept me protected and felt solid on rocks and uneven surfaces. If you like loads of spongy cushion, again these might not be the best choice. After my 12 miles my feet felt a little warm (possibly due to the material the upper is made of, it feels more like a plastic mesh then a fabric) but otherwise well taken care of. I would absolutely buy another pair, but my only critique (and why I give these a 4/5) is the staining that occurred after just one run. Now, I know these are trail shoes and they are meant to get dirty, but after one run mine look totally gross. It was hot and the area on the upper that came in contact with the sweat from my feet are permanently stained with sweat marks and trail dirt. I have the Zinnia/beige/black version and they already look trashed. So if you don't want to look like you've been wearing the same shoes for 10 years Id pick another colour! Otherwise the running experience was positive.

I’m a die hard brooks ghost fan- I wear them to work as a nurse and also to walk, hike with my dogs. I wanted to try a more rugged style for trails bc the ghosts get shredded on rocky trails. These aren’t close to the ghosts in terms of comfort or cushion or fit. I got my ghost size of 6.5, and these did fit- I wouldn’t size up or down. However, they seem longer and with less toe room than the ghosts. Somehow the toe box is wide but not very tall. I’m hoping it breaks in. The thing that bugs me is the lack of any arch suppprt or cushion. They are hard on the bottom so I think I’ll try inserts for cushion. I’m not running in them so it could be tbat this design feature is meant for ease in running somehow - still I should think a runner would want some cushion. They look sharp but incredibly “loud” as in bright and sort of attention grabbing which I find annoying. Why can’t brooks make shoes for women with colors like the mens ? Even one pair with muted neutral earth tones. I’m keeping mine bc I got them on eBay and can’t return. I’ll wear them but I won’t buy them again.

The cascadia 16 feels longer and is wider in the toe box and mid foot : not as comfortable as the cascadia 15. I had to return them.

I am not a runner, I am an avid walker who lives in Ghost 14. I recently started desert and mountain trails. I learned quickly that I need more durability after picking natures nail out of the soles of my shoes with tweezers! I am loving the Cascadia.. I am appreciating the stability on rocky trails and my daily sand dunes. I love you Brooks!

With Brooks, I always order a 1/2 size up (I'm an 8, so I order an 81/2). The fit is of this shoe is perfect. And I Iove the green color; it has that vintage vibe that I like. But most importantly, the Cascadia 16 feels great on the trail , really nice cushioning from rocks/roots, very stable ride, and with a very light feel on your feet.

I love these shoes. I wear the Adrenaline for street and treadmill jogging. For trails, I needed a shoe with a sole that has more grab. My pronation and odd feet (one narrowish one not so much) have made finding good comfortable running shoes tricky. I have had great success with Adrenaline and I would be able to stick with this brand. The Cascadias fit the bill and I couldn't be happier. They are stylish, rugged, my orthotics fit in them and I haven't slipped yet. I love them so much that I have tried to wear them around town yet the soles squeak, so I have reserved them for my nature hikes.

I tried on multiple trail running shoes at a local store (including the most popular brands) and found this shoe to be head and shoulders above all of them. They are supportive yet have cushion, moderately lightweight. I would have bought these in the store but they only had black and the “olive” color but the aqua color is the best of the three. I wore them on a 5 mile trail right out of the box. They were a little stiff the first few miles but other than that no extensive break in needed. Great traction, on the larger rocks, and so far no slippage on looser gravel. I believe I need gators so less dirt & small gravel enter the shoe. I wish they were in water proof.

surprised how snug the heel was, and raised so that my foot slid forward into the ample toebox, where the mesh top felt flimsy. Sad to return because I loved the exterior colors and design. Then I was glad to discover Hoka!

I ordered a 9.5 wide. These were the most uncomfortable Brooks shoes I have ever worn. I had them on my feet for an hour, until I had to take them off due to pain in my left forefoot. It felt like there was a band, or vice grip, across the ball of my foot and my left toe was in so much pain. The shoes are stiff and unyielding. Most definitely returning the shoes immediately.

It?s my go to trail running shoe. I use it for low mileage days. Love the traction and support it provides. I will definitely recommend it to everyone.

I've worn Brooks for 7 years as it's presently the brand that best fits my aging, flattening foot with bunions and OA bone spurs. I need a wide toe bed but also narrow heel. Unfortunately, my last few Brooks purchases bite my foot on the outer edge so I can't wear them for very long. I take the "shoe finder" to hone in on a pair then read what others share - that's really important to me in deciding whether to purchase. So here's my experience: I bought Cascara 16 for my cold weather walks in the woods on unpaved trails up and down hills of dirt, mud, rocks, roots, grass, and gravel. These are the best Brooks fit for my foot. I've worn them in sun, snow and rain and running through airports, on city sidewalks, and shopping in those huge super stores. Of all the styles, this is the best fit for me. My foot does not tire or ache. I can wear them a long time and cover miles! Hope I can find a compatible style for the summer weather!

I have used the Cascadia for many years. I have a narrow foot. The shoe could actually be a bit more narrow for my preference. The shoe is on the stiffer side and has great tread for the rocky trails of western Colorado. I wear a 7.5 and this shoe is sized perfectly.
