This is my first pair of performance running shoes, and I actually quite like this shoe, save for the nearly triangle-shaped toe box that rubs against my big toes and sometimes feels like it's pressing down on my toenails at times. However, after wearing this shoe, I felt like I was able to run for the first time possibly a decade. While the midsole of the shoe isn't "springy" like other running shoes I've tried, this shoe does a good job of not sapping my energy with every step I take. I didn't expect the 10mm heel drop to make this much of a difference in how the shoe feels, but it doesn't take long to get used to. I haven't had many complaints about the laces as of yet, but I do notice that they can come partially undone if you don't double lace them. I feel like I can trust the grip of the shoe, even if I haven't taken these in the rain yet. What I do have an issue with, however, is how narrow the toe box is, especially in a 4E shoe. My toes tend to spread out a lot during my day-to-day and at the gym, and if I'm not keeping an eye on it, the shoe will start pushing on my toenails. Future iterations of this shoe, especially at extended widths, need to take into account how far toes on wide feet spread. Also, can you please make more colors besides grey and black available for 4E widths? Thank you!

I have been loyal to brooks in my 7 years as a distance runner, specifically the Ghost model. I have never had any complaints until now. I work in the world of Footwear Supply Chain, so I know material sourcing costs have increased. However, you cannot market a shoe at the same MSRP as your latest and greatest model, when in reality it is far worse than any other ghost model. -Low quality laces come undone every run. I just finished a run and they came undone 3 times. clearly they went with a lower quality lace to save on margin. Take the margin hit so you stay a premium performance running product!

I purchased these for my girlfriend. She is an 8.5 Womens but prefers many of the colors and the fit of the Mens 7.5. Ghost are our favorite shoe and I have these in size 11 also. We look like matching dorks when we run.

Too small, too narrow. Not wide. I ordered two pairs, one medium width and one wide. There was no difference. Toe box too narrow for me, even in wide when wide should have been fine. Not in this model. Returned. Nice looking shoe though.

I have used several generations of ghost. I usually put them on and can go on a regular run out of the box and the only difference I feel is the new "feel" of having better cushioning. With these it was different and I immediately had the feeling that the fit was different. This was confirmed to me in an email from Brooks, apparently because of new design/manufacturing methods. They suggested an alternate model. Early on the shoes rubbed in spots where the other earlier models never did (I wear the same socks all the time). The laces were OK, but at the 300 mile mark they started unlacing when I run, so now I double knot them and it's OK. I put in hundreds and hundreds of miles on the older Ghosts and never had it happen... but the older laces were different. I still love Brooks, but this is not an automatic purchase for me anymore.

I wear a comfortable men's 43 in ECCO- and love their shoes. I have been looking for a walking shoe. Found the Ghost very comfortable in the 2nd size I tried, a 10.5/44.5/Double Wide. Based on this, I feel these run about a size short, typical for running shoes--and narrow. I give 5 stars for the height- good for high instep!- also good arch support, tho I'll be adding an orthotic. As for style, the fabric has a yucko feel to it, kinda picks my skin. But for neutral colored running shoes-- not bad at all. I add my suggestion to the company if anyone's listening, please add fun colors in wide + double wide!! :)

I’m a big fan of Brooks and have been wearing nothing but brooks since I found them in 2014. Sadly, this pair’s sole is falling apart just 2 months after I got them. The pics are of both shoes.
Truly disappointed.

I just switched from Nike running shoes. I was nervous to try something new. I have to say I really love the Ghost 14. At first I felt rubbing on the ball of my feet. Figured I just had to adjust to a new shoe. I have bought 2 pairs and just finished training and ran a great time in my recent Half-Marathon. A lot better comfort and light for me compared to the Nike Pegasus 37-38. Brooks is my new running shoe.

Great show from brooks for those of us with wide feet. The 12 4e fit and feel great out of the box.

Believe this company is starting to try to save more money than create a decent shoe for its consumers. The Brooks shoe line has gone down hill. The shoe feels cheaper every year yet remains the same price for consumers.

After about 50 miles I?ve confirmed I am not a fan of the new model ghost. I?ve had the last 4 models, and they made the toe box noticeably more narrow. I wear a 2e and taking any slight turn causes my foot to start sliding off the side of the shoe. I?ve never had this problem with previous models. As always they?re comfortable when you put them on, and the tread is holding well, but they?re too narrow for wide feet, even in a 2e.

If you are a Brooks customer there is no need to tell you how great this brand is. If you are not, treat yourself as they are amazing shoes for Running. Fit is perfect and doesn't hit my ankle bone like so many others do. 2 years ago I tried a pair on the recommendation of another family member who is a runner and I have been a customer since. I prefer to buy Made in USA so I was running in New Balance but unfortunately the Brooks shoes are so damn comfortable.
