By far the best of the Kayano Models. I have been running in Models going back to the 21's. The heel is better as well as the structural support.

First tiem owning a pair of running shoes, i was recomended this brand, but not specifically this model, however since i ddint know anything about asics and these seemed like they were their new product line, figured i'd give it a try and it beat all my expectations. I did at first get a defective pair and it came damaged but the service team gave me credit to replace the unfortunate damaged shoes and i got my replacement in a couple of days! Thank you for the great product and service! I am now a customer for life

Does not offer the support my 26s did. They are soft.

Extremely cushioned. Prefer a firmer fit or insole.

Great shoes! Lighter than I expected and very supportive. I have very flat and wide feet but these shoes fit my needs perfectly.

Personally I love them. They are a lot more comfy and responsive. The heel is basically twice as soft as the 27s. The only negative is that since it is so cushioned my feet get hotter making it more prone to blisters. They run true to size.

The gel heel provides zero support. It's like the heel was filled with water! Worst ever for so much money! Asics has really gone down the last couple of years. Bring back the NIMBUS 20!!!!!!

The color is completely different than what is shown in the pictures and no one from ASICS has an answer as to why.

I go back to the Kayano 16 and every version since. These are the best cushioned version yet! But...they run a half size too big.

I had an idea that these shoes would stand a chance of working but they really lacked the overall firm cushioning that I experienced about 15-18 years ago in a good, reasonably priced New Balance athletic shoe. I am 215 lbs, 5'11" tall with a strong bone structure and strong legs. Most athletic shoes if not each athletic shoe out there do not work with my feet. I do have a bunion on my left foot but that is not (EE width did work at one (1) time) the challenge with athletic shoes today. The shoes fit but lack the amount of firm cushioning in a neutral shoe is the challenge. A good number of us out here need better cushioning in an athletic shoe and a trail shoe for most purposes. I really hope that these comments register with someone in the shoe industry and possibly Zappos. Each of us are not 185 lbs. or less or experienced runners. Possibly would be additional business for a manufacture and the stores. I had an LLC business for a number of years as a manufacture's representative. - Tom
I'd also recommend:
not sure, possibly a light LL Bean trail shoe built up for more firm/appropriate cushioning.

Much more plush and stable than the 27s, but I do wish the 28s had more ankle support. (Same with the 27s.) I'd be very interested if next year, the GEL-Kayano 29s also came in a mid-high option. My Kayano 28s are like the 27s before them in they they're literally medicinal for this over-pronator!

I have been running/walking on Asics for a long time. So far the 28 is not the same coming off of the 26. It is bit narrower is my biggest issue. I will update since it has only been a month.

So,I have bought the Gel Kayano's since the 22's. I've liked each shoe. The 26's I liked when they expanded the toe box. I thought that was really roomy. I actually just bought another pair of the 26's not to long ago for work. I've always bought superfeet insoles for my shoes. I just felt the insoles that came with them weren't exactly the best. I can honestly say. These 28's.Are by far the most comfortable Kayano I've ever had.The shoe along with the insole feels so amazing. I couldn't believe it. Even though I just bought the 26's for work.I'm buying me another pair for work and another pair to have. That's how great these shoes are.

The last kayano I had was a 26. Loved them. These are nowhere near the support shoe the 26 was. Disappointed that I spent 160 and the heels are already cracking after two ten minute walks. These make my ankles and knees sore as they are way too soft and don't offer the support of the previous models. They also got a bit narrower. I've always worn kayanos but it doesn't look like that will be the case moving forward....

The shoes soul is very soft for a running shoe. I went to go run in this shoes and my ankles and knees were hurting in just minutes. I had to take a couple days off from running to heal. I will not ever wear them again.
