I was between these and the Brooks Ghost sneakers. I knew already that either way I was getting a great shoe. I don't buy for running, more so because when I don't wear good comfortable shoes with some decent arch support and heel cushioning, my feet get fatigued, and both the Hoka and Brooks are well known for these traits. The Hoka brand sometimes looks a bit too thick, but these Clifton's look and feel fantastic! First day wearing them was for a trip to NYC with the family and we walked probably 7 miles or better. Everyone else was complaining about their feet being tired, but I was good to go!
I'd also recommend:
Hoka Bondi, Brooks Clifton

I have two pair. One for in the house and one for outside the house. Great fit and they put a spring in my step. 10,000 steps a day, no problem. Easy to keep clean. Hoka had my extra wide size. Nice variety of colors.

These are great shoes. But they are neutral so if you pronate, try out the Hoka Arahi 6's. I found them to be way more comfortable than the Cliftons but these are comfortable as well if you don't have pronation problems. I really like Hoka's cushioning.

The white ones got dirty very quickly, and the shoe runs big. However I've loved everything about them.

Wow! Show provides awesome support for my foot so that I don't really feel my heel spurs while wearing. Very comfortable and lightweight.

Fit as expected. I'm prone to shin splints and have knee issues. These shoes have been amazing thus far.

We were told from a friend about the Hoka. My husband has wide feet and just love these shoes. Very comfortable and great for walking or playing pickle ball. Definitely would recommend them.

Use this shoe for fitness walking and light jogging. Excellent build quality and the comfort level on this shoe is through the roof! The sole is holding up to the pounding my 235 lb frame gives it during workouts. I walk/jog for an hour everyday and over the course of a month, these shoes still look and feel practically brand new.

Like the product. I plan to order again - new color. It would be nice if all the shoes came in a 16!

These shoes fit perfectly right out of the box. I have arthritis and unfortunately foot discomfort with certain running shoes just from walking. The Hoka Clifton 8s are by far the best shoes I own for everyday use accommodate my foot problems very well.

The most comfortable running shoe I’ve owned! Very light weight and great amount of cushioning. May run a tiny bit small, but not much. Better overall than my previous Hoka running shoes.

I have Morton's Morton's Neuroma in my left foot and I have found Hoka boots and shoes help me to keep its discomfort to a minimum with the help of a good insert. I also love how light and comfortable they are

This shoe provides a lot of cushion. After I got used to it, I like it quite a bit for walking, but I do not use it for running. I will buy it again as a walking shoe. The shoe fits well, because my feet are wide, I had to order the wide size.

I over-pronate big time and these shoes help with that tremendously! I have Diabetic foot issues, so comfort is paramount when I am getting my steps in. These shoes do the trick and then some!.

I use these for all my workouts. Running, elliptical, walking, rucking, and lifting. I always loved running to get my cardio workouts in however, was forced to give it up over the last couple years due to knees that are pretty much bone on bone. My son, who runs marathons and is a doctor, suggested I give Hoka a try. What a game changer for me. At 67 I'm back to running again and feel very motivated to stay healthy and fit. I'll definitely be buying more Hoka's in the future. The only small negative would be the sole material is very soft and tends to wear quickly. That said, the soft sole material is no doubt a big reason these shoes are so comfortable for me to run in so it's a little give and take I'd say. If you have knee trouble don't even hesitate, get ya some!!!
