The Clifton 8 does not feel the same as the 6's. My feet have killed me since wearing them. I have tried other inserts with this shoe but that defeats the purpose of this shoe which has supported my arch in the past. The right shoe doesn't feel as if it is made the same as the left. I definitely recommend the older version. I work too many long hour shifts to waist my money on an expensive shoe that kills my feet. Really wish they would have worked out as the multiple pairs I've had in the past of this shoe. Very disappointed.

bought these Clifton 8's since I heard they were good for walkers. I had have some foot pain and I was hoping this would fix it. Bought arch supports to go in the shoes since my foot still hurt when I wore the shoes. Giving my foot a rest and hope the shoes will help. just not sure yet since my foot seems to hurt more when I wear the Hokas.

These don't offer much support--different from previous Clifton models

Unfortunately, these did not work for me. I tried them on multiple runs and ended up taking advantage of the gracious return policy and sending back. The curved sole actually made running harder & slower, & I got blisters along the side of my big toes. I've been wearing ASICS since 2016 & will return to being a loyal customer with what I know works for me. Everyone has to find what works for them, these just aren't a match for me.

I’ve owned several pairs of the Hoka Clifton in 8.5 wide and they fit perfectly. These ones didn’t feel like a wide AT ALL and the length felt a full size short. Very disappointing for such an expensive tennis shoe. It wasn’t immediately apparent that the size was so off until I took a walk in them, so of course they cannot be returned.

I've had the clifton 6 and 7 and these are just too long. I compared them too my old cliftons and they are not as comfortable. My foot is short and wide, they are longer than previous cliftons and feel more constricted.

I run 3O miles/week and walk 15 miles/week. I was really hoping I would like these shoes because I could use a little extra cushioning on the hard surface. Unfortunately the shoes were too wide and too big. I always wear a womans 12 in my Nikes, but the Hokas were 1/2 inch too big. My husband wears a mens size 11 and the shoes was too big for him also. Sadly, I returned them. This was my first time trying out the Hokas, but I will stick with my Nikes for now. Also, I did not like the tab in the back of the heel. It looked odd, felt weird and looked out of sync with the design of the shoe.

I wanted to love the Clifton 8s, but they run so narrow. Even the wide-width option is way too narrow for my feet. I've ordered the Bondi 7s to see if they work. Please, Hoka, please make more wide-width options that are truly wide.

I started wearing HOKAS over the past year and loved the Clifton 7, size 7.5. A friend gifted me a Clifton size 8, which while "ok" felt too big. So when I reordered the Clifton model recently I purchased the 7.5 size again. The shoes that were just delivered (I bought 2 pairs) are wholly different than the Clifton 7s. They are less wide, they are not as long, the bottom of the Clifton 8 is very different in that it isn't as thick for support and isn't as wide as the Clifton 7s. I was surprised and very disappointed. I'm going to see if I can wear them comfortably but if not, I'll have to return them. I'm not commenting on the recommendation as I need to wear them a bit to see how the fit works for me. But the shoes are vastly different from the Clifton 7s. I noted another comment said the same.

I guess these Hokas are okay. With each update the sneakers get worse: poor quality, shoddy construction, cheap materials, etc. I think the new fabric seems like it will tear quickly. The colors are hideous. Pure white should always be an option. Pastel colors are for babies- or adults who have not grown up.

I have run in the Clifton since they were introduced. The Clifton 7 is one of my favorite versions due to the generous toe box. The Clifton 8 seems to have narrower toe box and a wider heel, as I experienced intense rubbing on the inside of my forefoot and heel pain from the lack of adequate lateral heel support. Unfortunately, I will have to return the 8 and stock up on the 7 while I still can.

While these are comfortable upon putting them on, the actual run was cumbersome and painful. They are very light weight shoes but felt HARD to actually move and run in them

Purchased my first pair of HOKA shoes on advise from my pediatrist for my leg and achilles pain. Purchased the Clifton 7. Absolutely loved them, the cushioning was wonderful and the rocking motion heel to toe was great, and the stability was fantastic Best of all my leg pain was gone. Wore the Clifton 7 religiously to the point that the tread was worn way down
Purchased the Clifton 8 and am disappointed with the fit. Nothing like the Clifton 7 which I think is much better. Sure spent a lot of money on a shoe that isn't performing pain is returning. The cushioning isn't there and the stability is not the same
Very very disappointed

I have a pair of Clifton 7s that were starting to feel flat, so i bought these hoping to get a little more spring in my step but i was so disappointed. Although the fit was fine, they were so stiff with little cushioning. I am going to try the Bondi 7

I had high hopes for the Clifton 8, but it just felt wide and clunky, with not nearly the cushioning I had hoped for.

Unfortunately these didn’t work out for me. I ended up exchanging them for the Clifton Edge & so far I’m very happy with the Edge. The Clifton 8 felt way too wide & unstable. My ankles rolled too easily and they were waaay too “cushy” feeling. My feet were aching like crazy & made my plantar fasciitis worse after wearing them once to go grocery shopping.

This shoes stretched out after only a month of use. My feet slips and slides around and there isn't much arch support leading to plantar fasciitis issues.
