I’m normally a 8 wide and got these both in 8.5 wide which seemed to have a slightly wider toe box than the size 8. I have really wide feet so the toe box of the 8.5 fit better. They are also slightly lighter than the Mach5, but the area near the heels were noticeably narrower for me so I’ll have to return.

These are great sneakers. I love the higher heel which provides additional support to the Achilles area which I need. I just wish they lasted a bit longer given the price tag, $140. That said, I am a larger woman and am hard on my feet. I exercise everyday and rarely sit during the day so I do churn through sneakers every 4-5 months. Anyone who saw mine and also had a pair mentioned them and said how much they loved theirs. Will not be able to afford to get a new pair every 4-5 months but will probably splurge on a pair again at some point. As usual, excellent selection, service & shipping provided by Zappos.

As a former D1 XC & Track distance runner, my feedback is to improve Hoka's overall fit for runners. The Clifton length is a 1/2 size short compared to my On's, Nike, & Adidas for comparison. The comfort is speaks for itself once you take them out for the first run. I moved up to the Clifton from the Rincon's for better training longevity. The weight differences is negligible for training purposes. The midfoot section is the biggest fault for the Clifton. The Rincon isn't perfect here either but is much more intimate with the midfoot/arch. I would be ideal for Hoka to improve their platform to reflect more curved last to minimize the void between the arch and footbed. I look forward in running many miles in the Clifton's and having them last longer.

I initially ordered a 9.5 (my usual size) which was too big. The return was free and super easy! Ordered a 9 and it's perfect. The shoe is so stable that it is taking some time to get used to but I love them. Very attractive as well.

I use these shoes for walking and working out at the gym. I was getting callouses on my feet while walking on the treadmill.

Comfort and stability. A bit bigger fit but not sure if sizing down would be prudent.

I originally bought the Graviota 4, which is the best shoe ever. I wanted to try another fit, so I took the shoe finder quiz and the Clifton was suggested. It does not seem to be as well made as the Graviota. The toe box is definitely not as wide and the cushioning seems lacking. It's not a bad shoe, just not as impressive as the Graviota, and now that I'm spoiled, I'm having difficulty settling for less.

I had my hopes built up very high for these shoes. They are great, but not near as comfortable as I had hoped for. The extremely high arch support is almost painful some days. While the shoes work, I think I would have preferred a different type.

'The fit was okay but the low profile did not work for me and it just didn't feel right when walking in them.

I love HOKAs and my feet, knees, and back are always happy when I wear them This is my 2nd pair - 1st pair was at the annual sample sale and are still in great condition, just needed a solid color now. I've had new pair for only a few weeks but already there is a squishy/squeaking sound when I walk and is very noticeable. You can hear my coming. Not sure why this happened since the shoes are only a few weeks old and have less than a few miles logged. Disappointing that I spent over $100 for the shoes to squeak.

For those of us with narrower feet, it's hard to get a good fit in Hoka. Since you make the Clifton in a wide width, I assumed the regular width would work (I don't wear a narrow in any shoes...just on the narrower side). They appeared to be comfortable so I kept them. However, after wearing a few months, I find the toe box a bit too wide, causing the shoe to be less comfortable. They also slip on the heel a bit which is causing the fabric to wear a hole. I love them but wish they fit more snuggly. And the fabric inside could be more durable.

I absolutely luv, luv, luv my Clifton 8's. They arrived yesterday and I hated to take them off for the night. I wear a wide width because my right foot has arthritis, gnarly toes, needs arch support, the list goes on and on. The new Cliftons give my toes much needed room and relief from pain. I would order two more pair while they are on sale if I had the funds. In the past I have worn Bondi's which fit me until my foot became so painful. Even a wide in the Bondi doesn't ease my foot pain. I like the new elastic band that keeps the tongue from slipping, the fabric in the toe box that expands with my foot and support. The ONLY minus I would give the Clifton 8 is that they replace the back loop with a higher heel tab like feature to pull them on. I wish that they would bring back the tab. It helps arthritic hands pull on the shoe more easily.

I've worn your shoes since 2012. I love them. You're pricing me out of your sneakers and really think you need to consider this fact. It's too bad.

Please make Clifton 8 wide in Baby Lavender color! That's what I really wanted but you don't seem to have them in Wide, please let me know if you can make them (Baby Lavendar) in wide 8.5 and I will order another pair.

Love these shoes! I have trouble with plantar fasciitis and have wanted to try Hokas but didn’t want a super thick sole. These are very comfortable! You need to wear a few times till they mold to your feet.

cute & functional! however, re: size - i am usually a size 6 but these shoes in 6 were not right - way too roomy in the toe box and the arch was really uncomfortable. the half size down (5.5) felt better with a more normal arch but i still would have wanted to try on the 5 since my heel still slips out on the 5.5s. but i don’t want to go thru the process again so keeping these! appreciate zappos’s flexibility :)

I'm a runner, and I have some joint pain in my feet. I've tried many different running sneakers and there's no comparison- my HOKA's are light, and sturdy around the arch, the heel cup provides my posterior foot stability, and the rocker bottom of my HOKAs lets me roll forward toward the front of my foot. I plan on running for many years to come and I have to protect my joints. They're worth every penny!!
