Customer Reviews Hoka Anacapa Low GORE-TEX®

I was super confused about what size to get in these because I’m pretty much a true 7, every now and then go 6.5 but not often. So I wasn’t sure if I’d need a 7 or 7.5 as several reviews mention these run half a size small. I’ve tried other Hoka styles (Gaviota, Clifton) and wear a 7. I decided to go with my true 7 and they fit me very good. I do agree that they are slightly smaller than the other Hoka styles, but personally not enough for me to size up. I could see possibly needing to size up if you are on the higher end of a size (for example, I’m a “loose 7” versus if I was a “tight 7” I might have needed to size up) or if you plan to wear very thick socks. Hopefully that makes sense and can help someone! They are pretty comfortable but they are a bit stiff of course being a waterproof material. I live in rainy Florida so I’ve been wanting a good waterproof shoe.

These are comfortable shoes and true to size. The style, though, looked weird on me--like wearing small boats. I think Hoka's are just not for me.

I ordered these based on recommendations from friends. They are very comfortable and offer excellent support. And they are waterproof!

I followed the advise of others and first got 1/2 size bigger and they floated on me. My feet are a little wide and I sometimes lean to the next bigger size--but not with these. Unless your feet are really wide, stick to your normal size is my advise. I love these shoes not so much for the style--which is fine--but for the comfort. I waited a few weeks to send a review and have been wearing these for big walks in the woods and in town. These are the most comfortable walking shoes I have ever had--and I've had a few. I feel energized in them--even after a good long while. No feet pain. Light weight, supportive and cushiony. I generally do not write reviews--but these are the best walking shoes I've ever had. I've resisted Hokas for years (the style just isn't for me) but I am now a believer.
