Nearly $100 is a lot of money for a pair of slippers, unless they are high- quality and provide decades of toasty, comfortable wear. ((Cost-per-use!). That used to be the case with the Squam Lake slippers, but no longer. The slippers used to come with a special notice. advising new wearers that the slippers would initially feel tight until the shearling material inside shaped to one's foot. I don't remember seeing that notice With my recent pair, but if I had, it would have been oxymoronic or at least unnecessary, because there is about half as much of that previously Warm and enveloping material as there used to be. . Looking at the reviews, many people commented on the slippers are much l arger and looser than they used to be. Case in point. I was hesitant to buy the slippers this year, because they just seem like too much money, but now I'm back to the drawing board of looking for a decent pair of slippers that doesn't cost an arm and a leg and doesn't leave me feeling ripped off. I would rather have paid the high price tag, and received slippers that felt great, worked great, and would last, but those days are behind us, sadly I know it's not LL Bean that is now losing sight of their values and commitment to offer high-quality reliable products. They just don't make things the way they used to! (needless to say, the "wicked, good" not-so-good LLBean slippers are going back)

Return and exchange fees. Please please please purchase a full size down! Especially if not wearing socks in them or are in a half size. I'm a 10-10.5 in most shoes, 11 in some designer ones. Based on their estimate I was an 11. I ordered a 10 based on some reviews saying they are big plus I wanted to go not wear socks in them. The fact that their algorithm says true to size must be misleading or wrong. It asks "how was length" but doesn't ask if that is your normal size. Only what size purchased. Anyone who buys and keeps it will thus be read as "true to fit". They also do not even have product measurements. So how does their size estimator even work?! I would rather them post in cm or in inches the exact measurements so I can be better informed. LLB doesn't have any somehow.

I read the recommendation for sizing that stated I should size up for half sizes so I ordered the 8. Then the packaging said they should fit snug. I decided to go with another brand.

My rating is based on the sizing on these slippers. I ordered a size based on the size of my HOKAs as suggested on the LLBean's website. They were way too large! Not a huge surprise because my feet are narrow. However, I wasn't willing to pay the shipping costs for several rounds of purchase and return to find the right size. Also, the back of the heel on this slipper is too low to stay on my foot. It would be flipping up and down with every step.

Description unclear that back is disappointingly low, more like a clog. Slip off the back of my 89 yr old mom's feet causing a falling hazard. Otherwise warm and well made. Will look for different style.

Just received the slippers, ordered my regular size, quality is very good but these slippers run LARGE. I don't wish to pay return fees so I guess I'm stuck. Lesson learned.

Comfy but I've had them less than 2 months and the seam is already falling apart.

I've bought several Wicked Good Slippers over the years and noticed the last two come lush and fluffy inside; in months, the lining goes from fluffy to flat to see-through. I will not repurchase it. Too expensive for this experience.

I ordered these and then returned them for a different version of Wicked Good Slippers. This pair was too big even though I ordered the size I usually get.

I wanted to treat myself to some quality slippers, after years of settling for inexpensive "generic" slippers. When I first received these in January I loved the cushy, warm comfort. By March or April the insoles were matted down, and even worn bare in a couple spots! I went back to wearing my generic slippers from 2 years ago, which are still in better shape than these disappointing LL Bean slippers

My foot slipped out of the slipper. While the wool felt soft and comfy, I also did feel like the bottom had any cushioning. And as others mentioned, what a silly place to put a tag: right where the arch is.

I was eager to receive these slippers but alas they were extremely large even though I went down a half size and full width. And whose bright idea was it to sew a label on the interior lateral surface of each? How the heck could such an irritant be removed? A high priced slipper with a poor design. Cannot recommend.

This is the second my pair I've purchased and I found this second pair does not have the same quality I expected. Cost engineering has degraded the quality of the whole product. I would have gladly paid a little more to get the same quality product. The shearling is not as thick and the sole is not the trademarked LLBean type of sole. It looks more like thin flip flop material. Overall, this new slipper does not look like it will last. A side by side comparison of my original wicked good slipper next to the new one showed it was not just my imagination. The width of the older slipper was wider and the sole is sturdier and thicker and more supportive. I only bought this second pair because my first pair were looking grubby. But I would rather wear my grubby slippers than this new version. I will be returning.

This is my 2nd pair, and I was planning on getting a new one for myself every Christmas. But not sure if will anymore. My previous ones lasted a full year and ordered new fluffy ones around Christmas. The two slippers looked slightly different, like there was a quality control difference - slightly different shape to the shoe and even the seam on the inside of the foot on the sole didn't line up on the two shoes. I've been wearing them since around new year's, and on one shoe the lining is wearing away already to the plastic underneath. I know you can't know how much I'm wearing them, but I work full time outside the home and it's only the end of March so - it's not that long. I'm just bummed my nearby store (Tysons! First store after the original) just closed so I can't even easily go into the store to see what they could do.

These look like nice slippers. However, there are a couple problems. Number one is that these slippers run really big! I normally wear a size 6 1/2 to 7 shoe. I ordered a size 6 and a size 7, and they were both too big. So, then I ordered a size 5. The size 5 did fit, except for the heel area. The slipper is cut very low in the back at the heel, and my foot constantly slipped out of the back of the slipper. I tried them on for only maybe 4 or 5 minutes and realized there's no way I can keep these. If they were slipping off my foot in the back now, they would even be worse once this shearling got compacted. I have now seen a few other reviews from people with the same problem. Unfortunately, I had to return them.

I had a previous pair of these which were fine and comfortable. When those wore out, I got this pair and noticed almost immediately that my foot kept sliding to the side and off the base of the slipper on each foot. Can't even walk in them. Very disappointed. Never had that issue with any other slippers. Very strange fit. Not going to buy these again.

I received these as a late Christmas gift and was excited to try a different pair of LLBean slippers (I have been a loyal Wicked Good sheepskin booties fan for decades). Sadly, the quality and design of these are not worthy of the LL Bean name. The back has no support and is too wide, so your feet slide off the sides when walking, and, worse, the slippers fall off on stairs when you lift your feet. I tried to wear them with thick socks, but there just isn't enough structure to the back and the sides of the heel for me to safely wear these slippers. I had my husband try them on without telling him the issue; he had the same problem. Very disappointing!! As they were a gift, I don't have the receipt and don't want to embarrass the gift-giver by asking for it. :( The only reason I rated them with two stars is that they are warm...but, unfortunately, I can't walk in them without my heels sliding off the sides or the slippers falling off my feet. Please renew my faith in LL Bean!

I do love, well loved, these slippers but after a couple days of wear they are so stretched out I can't wear them anymore. Well, I can, but I have to wear socks with them and I hate wearing socks with slippers. I've bought different pairs of LL Bean slippers in the past and have not had this problem, but I will be reluctant to buy them again for fear they'll stretch out too much and I won't be able to wear then.

I originally ordered a size 7M which were swimming on me. Since this slipper does not come in half sizes, and after reading the reviews, I ordered a size 6M. Initially, they felt comfortable when I slipped them on, but after walking around the house for a couple of hours, my feet feel cramped and the toes and one of my feet are numb. My back hurts as well. Slippers, unlike some shoes, should not have to first be broken in.The hard, inflexible soles add to the discomfort. Too bad I already wore them, or I would have returned them. Guess I'll have to stick with the moccasins that I wore for years.

I gave these slippers two stars. The quality 5, the color 5, But I realize I can't wear anything but leather LLBeans slippers. These have a wonderful soft lining inside but the shoe box doesn't allow orthotics. the sole of quite stiff so the effect is more of a clog rather than a slipper. So don't back off, fit/color/quality good just not what I wanted

These are a waste of $$ for me as they do not bend when I walk. Maybe good for someone else but not me. I gave them to my local Thrift Shop and hope someone can make use out of them.

I received these as a gift for Christmas. I usually wear a 7 or 7.5 woman's shoe so ordered up a size as LLBean suggested. The slipper was too long for my feet. However, my bigger complaint is that the sole is very stiff, not a sole that is the comfy sole I wanted. This was to replace a ten year old pair of LLBean slippers that had a nubby rubberized sole that was pliable and comfortable and which was ok for little jaunts outside. The Squam Lake slippers feel more like shoes than slippers. They are not cozy. I spoke to LLBean which said that it had received feedback that people wanted slippers that were good for mailbox runs. However, the only options now available are the stiff soles such as in this slipper or soles that are only leather soles such as in the Wicked Good slippers. I am returning these slippers and will look elsewhere for slippers that have a "touch" of sole for quick outside ventures but which are still soft, pliable and cozy. I think LL Bean should have more sole options than two given its long history as a manufacturer of comfortable slippers.
