I use the backpack for school and it does the job well. I like how ridged and sturdy it is.

Best backpack I've ever bought. Plenty of room for my laptop and other gear. Side pockets are big enough to fit a Hydroflask 40 oz bottle, which was a must have for me.

It's the EDC of packs, everything you need in a small package Makes for a great bugout bag also. Can't go wrong with the Recon.

My is a 9th grader. This works well for laptop, books, folders and his lunch fits as well. Lots of compartments. It is not bulky. Overall a nice looking bag.

Super nice backpack, I upgraded from the last version and I can tell all the different details that this new version has. Very versatile, and resistant. Love this back pack.

Pretty disappointed with the wimpy zippers when comparing to my old NF Enterprise back pack that I bought in 1998 (and still have). Wanted to treat myself with a new one but think I'll just give the recon to my nephew and keep using my old Enterprise with the meaty metal zippers that will never wear out. Sad how everything is built so cheaply nowadays. I'm done with NF.

Great backpack! Firm back support. I took it to Iceland with me. Super comfortable but I do wish that there was more space. The back support made the space fairly limited. Would also have liked to see quick access compartments for a phone or something.

Great for work; looks professional and sleek, yet casual. Pocket space and number of pockets are great. The two cup holders are deep which is nice and are big enough to hold a nalgene or hydro flask bottle. After spending a long time trying to find a backpack for work, I'm happy I went with this option. I had a north face backpack in the past and is still in good condition so I'm hoping the quality of this one will be just as high.

Love it, just the backpack I was looking and hoping for. Whether my needs are for school or for a hike it fits the situation. There is plenty of space for a day trip or commute to work/school. I love how my Camelbak 32oz bottle fits in the side pockets easily without disturbing the contents inside.

My son loves the backpack although its a tad small for books/binders and his lunch, wish it expanded just a bit more. Quality is top notch, this pack will last! One recommended fix for the designers is the top outer pocket zipper is at the bottom but should really be at the top because sunglasses or other items will move downwards.

I use this pack for everything from school to skiing. I have an older version of the same model that I have lived out of on vacation for several days.

Just received this pack as a birthday gift and I'm very satisfied so far. I can easily tell it's made of quality materials and have just enough pouches and places to hold my things. I'm utilizing it dual-approach as I carry this into my office daily with laptop and materials. I also plan on utilizing this on a trip to Colorado next week and will use as a day pack into Estes Park/National Park. I really like that it's not too large (I'm 5'10" and 180) and it fits perfect. Again, always super excited and satisfied with NF products and looking forward to my new and first time backpack.

Ordered this for my oldest child to go to high school, He picked it out and is very happy with it. Also didn't know that this bag has a stranger danger whistle.

I use this backpack for school, and it is perfect! It holds my 15-inch laptop no problem! I love hoq all the different compartments allow me to organize everything. The only thing I don't like is how the middle pocket is not the full length of the backpack; I wish it was a little bigger.

This really is a great backpack. The pockets and compartments are so useful and the large compartment is perfect for a laptop. There is a front mesh pouch that seems a little looser than it might but this is otherwise a great backpack.

Great backpack for commute. Great bag in general but the bag does discolor. The yellow loses its brightness.

Amazing backpack for carrying lots of heavy textbooks. I think the Borealis has better material though as this material feels a bit cheap and less rugged.

Great backpack for college, as it can carry everything from my laptop to my texts books and pens and pencils. Not to mention how comfortable it is. I walk almost 2 miles daily for classes and I sometimes forget I have my backpack on. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a lasting college backpack.
