Very well- designed inside pockets. Comfortable to wear; doesn't overwhelm my back.

Love it! Perfect amount of space and pockets. Bought it for college, but also recently used it as a carry on.

This backpack is an unbeatable product! I used my last recon for 8 years, putting it through a LOT and it lasted through everything. I decided it was time for a new backpack and there was no doubt in my mind that I'd buy a recon!

Excellent bag. High quality, color was exactly as pictured and beautiful out of the box. BUT... had to return it. Not big enough for our middle schooler. The fad seems to be to never touch your locker, so it has to hold everything. If I re-engineered it, I would make it 34L, dividing the added space between the main pocket and an additional pocket for laptop chargers and accessories.

Great day pack, plenty of room for a quick change of cloths and whatever I want to carry. Like the water bottle pockets- especially this summer. Light weight enough to use daily.

The Recon was great for my recent 10-day trip to the Baltics. Excellent storage capacity, great organization options and durable construction. The outside expandable "pouch" is brilliant for easy access and the side pockets securely hold up to 36oz bottles. The unique shoulder strap attachment points should be a new industry standard - very smart. Looking forward to the next exploration!

I like everything about it except the mesh netting on front wish it was little different material.

It holds everything that I need as a student, and I can also take it out on trips and stuff. I prefer it over the Borealis because it holds my tall water bottle a lot better.

Already in love with this pack...and finally TNF is bringing back a little camouflage for us real men. What can I say more? It's just a great pack, with cool branding and a great layout of pockets and pouches...just buy it!

This is my second recon since 2008. I'm sure this one will last even longer. My 13 inch laptop and cords fits with ease in the computer compartment. The large compartment I can put anything, but I fold or role clothes up in there. I also like that some compartments are lined to prevent/reduce scratched. Comfortable to carry.

Not what I thought it could be. Looking for a new backpack for EU trip and even around town here in NYC. Looks great. Feels great. But as soon as you put anything in the front top section it wakes the rest of the pack feel useless. As it became so too heavy that I couldn't put anything in the main section. I was unable to use it and returned it for refund. Great return policy.

This is a great versatile backpack for hiking, work, and school. The daisy chain offer you an option to add a bungee cord system while you are use for hiking. You can add or remove the bungee cord system anytime in this backpack. I bought another North Face Borealis for my dad also, although both are same price, similar design, I like the Recon design more than the Borealis.
