I am so so happy with this backpack, it's a fantastic combination of hybrid office functional for a public transit commuter whose out of the house all day, and can easily be used for a camping weekend pack. I actually tried the Recon prior to this pack and found it to be too small for my needs as I carry a 15 in laptop, an extra portable 15.6 in screen, an iPad, a couple notebooks and often have a jacket/ sweater along with typical keys/glasses/pens/cords etc with me daily. Although the main pocket isn't quite as roomy as I would like, the smaller pockets are all laid out well, and I feel confident that my electronic devices are protected and safe in the laptop dual space compartment. The shoulder straps are very comfortable, the side water bottle spaces are deep enough to keep bottles from shifting or falling out, the pack sits well on my back and feels very sturdy and well constructed. Other than wishing for brighter color options and an additional couple of inches of main compartment expansion ( I admittedly carry way too much with me daily), it's really a perfect pack for getting me through the dayI love it!

Great bag for a daily commute. With a 40L capacity, it can even be used as a personal item with a lot of space to carry stuff. I have used it as a personal item while flying carrying all my clothes and travel requirements for 2-3 days trips without any issues.

Our high school grad was really excited to receive this as a gift. Especially because it's waterproof or water resistant. Wish it came in more colors.

Best Travel Backpack Ever! I have my router from 2012 and it's still chugging along. I got this one because it's 10L larger. I do waaaay too much research on backpacks and still end up coming back to Nortface because no one compares to the comfort, versatility, and durability.

This backpack is awesome. I bought it in navy and black for each of my teenage boys to carry their heavy notebooks and gear for school. It holds up to a lot of weight and is extremely well made. We like to put a carabiner on the small strap under the logo to attach a bulky lunchbox. This backpack is a winner!

I primarily use this backpack for carrying my studies. I love how there is a laptop and tablet divider. As for the space available, good luck trying to use all of it. This backpack is a dark hole for carrying things. I used it for my travels out of country and I held onto two jackets, laptop, and a days worth of souvenirs. I love how the side pockets are spacious as I regularly carrying my 40oz hydro flask. Very durable and made to resist harsh conditions if needed.

I was looking for a backpack that would protect my work laptop and be good for transporting it for my remote job. I also needed a backpack that is good for traveling to store extra clothes. It works perfectly for both!

Everyday carry for work. Lots of room and pockets for all my belongings. Hoping it'll last me 12+ years like my last backpack.

The bag is awesome. It's super roomy, and looks amazing. More than that North Face customer service was awesome. I had a North Face bag that the zipper broke on. I sent it back to them and within a week had gotten a store credit for the value of the backpack. This is why I deal with North Face. Outstanding quality and outstanding customer care is the recipe for me to be a customer for life. Thanks Guys!

I have only used this once since I have received it. However, it has met all but one of my expectations, which I will mention later. I purchased this for my airplane travels and when I need to carry my tablet or computer along with me. It has large spacious pockets and holds A LOT of stuff!!! The padded pocket in the front was great for holding my phone and sunglasses. Everything was convenient to access, even with a full backpack. My favorite part of this backpack and the main reason I chose this particular backpack is the FlexVent suspension system and articulated shoulder straps. It makes carrying it a lot easier. It was still heavy for me, but I chose this one because it had room for everything I needed. I really love the handles, they are tough and conveniently placed. The only thing that I would improve on is to make a strap on the back that I can put my luggage handle through.
