Everything about Atoms is fantastic, however, I really, really wish they used more sturdy material on the sided of the sole.
Especially on the white soles, the side of the sole, the bits that are visible, have wrinkles, and look like they are falling apart even after a few weeks of use.
As a result, these shoes went from my "shoes to wear out with friends" to "comfy shoes for chores" because they started to look ratty, even after taking a magic eraser to them.

Pros:
1. I like the single piece (whole cut) upper pattern. This helps maintain structural integrity of the upper where numerous pattern pieces tend to deteriorate in stress and flex areas, etc.
2. I like the overall simplicity of the design. Its anonymous profile undercuts the common tendency designers have to overstate some notion of advanced concepts.
3. The shoe is comfortable.
Cons:
1. The slip on function doesnt really work. Even with lateral and medial bracing to minimize tongue rotation, the tongue moves forward when attempting to enter the shoe.
2. The pitch about EVA technology is overstated in that its not defined. There are a number of things possible in the development of various EVA compounds; density variations, introduction of rubber into the matrix, etc. The Atoms midsole/ outsole interface seems at best conventional to me.
3. The design of the rubber outsole could have gone a little deeper in its geometric resolution. It has a bit of an intern look about it.
4. The EVA sidewall on my pair is already beginning to wrinkle in places. Perhaps the density of the EVA could be spiked a bit. Recommendation question below is Yes but with qualifications.

The shoes themselves are very nice. Comfortable, good looking, and fit well. I'm deducting a star for the packaging, which is gimmicky and difficult to recycle.

These expensive sneakers are a let down. The inside upper finish on mine is rough and chafes my toes;. so I can't wear often. I have had better with other brands that are similar in materials but fit better.

Here is the challenge with walking shoes: you need to really walk in them to see how they will do but then you have, well, walked in them. I first ordered a 7.75 but they felt a bit snug so I got a size 8--my ususal size for this type of shoe. They felt fine inside but when I took them for a walk, only after a while was my right foot in pain. Of course, I cannot return worn shoes so that is the dilemma. I do have a wide toe area due to bunions so if your feet are totally normal these might be perfect.

Shoes are too narrow in the toe area but loose at the heel. Wearing in the house for a few days has allowed them to stretch somewhat and they may eventually become more comfortable with time.

A nice looking sneaker, but sadly they chafed the hell out of the back of my foot on the first outing. Will likely need to use a moleskin to break them in.

After being bombarded with ads, I finally broke down and bought these. I was excited to try them. After slipping them on and walking around, my reaction is that they are ok. They look and feel fine. Nothing special. My Nikes look and feel about the same for half the cost. And my Allbirds are more stylish. So...they are ok. Ill wear them out, but likely would not get another pair.

I loved my pair so much, I sent a pair to my mom for Mothers Day. They were too narrow; it turns out she has a bone spur or something. I hope they consider wide sizing, which is probably more important than 1/4 sizes...

I've had these shoes for about 6 months now, and not long after owning them, the sides of the soles started permanently showing visible wrinkles, which is not very visually appealing. Additionally, the sides now have some damage that looks like bits rubbed off an eraser.
The shoes are very comfortable and convenient with the stretchy laces and anchored tongue, but for the price I would have hoped for some better durability in visible areas. I probably wouldn't buy another pair as a result.

Theyre really comfortable and light. Perfect for everyday use. The sides of the shoe do unstick a little and wear kind of easily. Theyre also pretty pricy

I thought it will be the softest shoes ever, as i was impressed by the advertisement. First, you feel its perfect, but then i get tired from wearing them. At the end of the day, you feel its not comfortable.

Wear my Atoms for commuting and use a pair of allbirds for similar use and the gym. Allbirds are showing much less wear although they are about 6 months older than my Atoms. Besides that the atoms are unbelievably comfortable!

Love my Atoms shoes! The fit is beyond perfect and the minimal design is great!
However they also show signs of wear almost immediately, and are harder to keep clean than similar sneakers. The main problem is with the outsole - the material its made of is very comfortable, but also not very durable. They seemingly aged a whole year after only 2 months. A rubberized outsole (at least on the sides of the shoe) would make the shoe dramatically more durable.

Very comfortable in all facets. The issues I had were the following:
- I dropped ketchup on it the first day I wore it and even with washes, it is not fully clean
- the white edges get dirty easily and smooshed

They're clean looking shoes and it really does feel like walking on a cloud when you first get them. Generally pretty happy with them, but shocked how quickly the rubber on the soles and sides has started cracking and degrading not what I expected for shoes this price.

The shoes looked good and I loved the quarter-sizing option. Unfortunately theyre not the right style for me. My feet pronate and I do much better walking with a more supportive shoe. The very soft Atoms were comfortable to stand in but not to walk in, for me. And I have narrow feet; as with most every shoe I have tried that doesnt come in a narrow width, my heels pulled out while walking.

I love to wear them but durability is a question mark for me. After 2 weeks of normal walking around town the sole in the heel area seems seriously worn already. I dont have high hopes and that is definitely concerning for a shoe that expensive.

For my foot. I went with a quarter size hire to make them work, but they still are too narrow for my preference.
Also, $180 is a lot to pay. If they were closer to $100 and not quite as narrow, I wouldve bought 3 or 4 of them

Really love the product. Feels very light and durable. Breathable. Easy to wear. A little disappointed that they are not water resistant.
I think the only downside is the price point. It's a high price for what you get. Most people would think of buying two pairs of shoes for the price of one Atoms. So something to think about.

Shoes are nice but slightly overpriced in my opinions would certainly recommend at 130 or lower. I personally cannot wear them because the soles were too narrow. If they came in wide I would probably try them again as they were very comfortable in other areas. But like I said might be a bit pricey for most.
