Lightweight and roomy - perfect for my weekend trips.

I have several of these in all sizes and several patterns and they've been very durable. They zip closed and are handy for so many uses. Beach bag, shopping bag, weekender, carry-on item, hobby bag, day bag for travel or day trips, most anything you need to transport or carry. The part that has the top zipper folds down flat inside if you want to use it as an open top tote. The fabric and construction are sturdy but don't weigh much, and they are water resistant and wipe clean. I've even machine washed (cold, delicate cycle) one that was sticky from transporting food and it came out fine. Dried it off with a towel, turned everything inside out and dried the folds, dried that side off, and put it outside on the deck for both sides to finish air drying. ..... I also use the medium size as my "personal item" on planes in addition to my carry-on or if I've checked a larger bag. It's a little smaller than the maximum allowed for a personal item by most domestic airlines but holds my small crossbody purse and more than what I need to be immediately accessible on the plane, and some essential things in case a checked bag were to be delayed. ..... I love it because it's so lightweight. Not easily soiled and the medium fits under the plane seats especially if it's not over-packed. It has only one flat outside slip pocket and one (very useful) zip pouch inside, but that's adequate. In a bag this size it's easy to find things. ..... It doesn't have a trolley band or sleeve, but I just set it on top of my hardside spinner carry-on with the handles over the trolley handle. I love these bags! More colors and some new patterns, please.

Bean had me at red buffalo plaid. I could not resist it. It is lightweight but sturdy and a great travel tote. My go to weekend bag.

I am a knitter and this is the perfect sized bags to carry several projects. The colors are perfect for fall!

I have used the large size as carry on luggage for multiday trips, as a briefcase to hold my laptop and files, and (most usefully) as a do-everything bag for long trips and international travel. On long flights, I board with it as a personal item, holding my handbag, sweater, food, laptop, pillow, and reading materials. On the trip, it functions as a beach bag, market bag, excursion bag, and is easy to clean. So versatile and it still looks brand new after several years and countless trips. One of the best things I have purchased from Bean in the last 40 years.

I bought the red/black medium size in September of 2021, so 3 years ago. I carry it at least twice a week (gym) and it still looks brand new, honestly. Very useful and versatile tote that holds up beautifully.

I bought the medium tote for running errands and a catch all bag. I love the zipper which keeps everything inside when I accidentally tip it over. I also bought the mini tote which is perfect for a lunch tote.

These bags are so well made and carry just the right amount. They also wear forever.

We have several LL Bean bags we use for shopping. Some of the bags are over 20 years old, so I was pretty set in my preference for LL Bean's original boat and tote bags. Initially I was a bit unsure about a "lightweight" bag being sturdy enough for our use. I was wrong. This bag is sturdy and the light weight makes it much easier to use for this senior! The attractive plaid is a beautiful added benefit. I will probably buy more of these bags. LL Bean, you have made a believer!

Love these bags! Light weight but also rugged. Great for day trips or overnights.

This bag is not too big , nor too small but just the right size to hold a knitting project. And, so important to me, the zipper appears to be of good quality. The colors in the plaid make me think of fall, my favorite season. Although I haven't had it very long, I feel I'm going to get good use out of it.

I've used the smaller tote for several years. I've decided it's a great tote for weekly activities, but I could use something larger for travel. This large size fits the bill.plus it's a red buffalo plaid, which clinched the deal! The material and 'build' is sturdy.

I bought the Apple plaid. I absolutely love the colors! I will be using this no matter the season. It's a perfect everyday tote to use for going back and forth to work or just to have. I bought this to take stuff back and forth to our RV. It's super light, and takes up minimal space when folded up. It's well-constructed, and I am crazy about the colors! LL Bean please make the light tote in a larger weekender size. I'd definitely buy it. :)
