I bought the first pair for my daughter when she was in middle school. We had them re-soled as she headed off to college. Decided to by her a new pair as she headed off to grad school. She still loves them!

I'm spot on a size 6 and ordered down to a 5 based off other reviews that stated bean boots run big. I'm so happy I did, they fit perfectly, and I can even wear a thicker sock with them. The boots are well made, comfortable, and super cute.

These boots are perfect and very comfortable. I usually wear a size 8 to 8-1/2 wide. I ordered a 7 wide as they suggest and they fit perfectly. Love them.

I have purchased these boots for decades...when there was only one Bean Store and it was in Freeport! It is hard to find a boot that is this comfortable and available in narrow. My first version of these boots still said "Maine Hunting Boots" on the back. Man, I hated to get rid of those boots...and I had them repaired more than once! I wear these with medium-weight socks most of the time, though they accommodate thicker socks as well. I use them as muck boots at the barn as well as the boots I wear to side-walk with therapeutic riders. They aren't heavy or bulky, fit nicely on my narrow feet and keep them dry. My first purchase price was in the double-digits, but even with the price in the triple digits now, I still find them well worth the price.

So far, the boots are comfortable and are satisfying the need for the purchase. They protect my ankles when tromping through uneven terrain, keep my feet dry, and are comfortable. After a few times of wearing them, I can tell that the leather is softening up and getting even more comfortable. I look forward to using these for years to come! LLBean is always a company that you can rely on.

I absolutely LOVE this boot!! Its completely worth the money. I wear a size 7.5 and I ordered a size 7. It has a little extra room which is perfect for this boot. I orginally ordered the size 6 and my toes were touching the end and didn't allow any extra room for thicker socks etc. I highly recommend this boot! It is very well made!!!

Perfect - Comfortable with thick socks!

Bought limited edition red heart boots ! Went up a size to 8 for wool socks . I wear a 8.5 always . A 7 in duckboots fit perfect but I need to wear heavy socks in AK . So I went up to a size 8! Fit great room to expand for proper heat flow . Beautiful boot ! Love the

These were a present for our 15-year-old daughter. She is very happy with them, they are actually a 9 1/2.

A few years back I bought this exact same boot in a different color (red leather and blue rubber) and a pair of LL Bean shearling liners. My daughter and I wear the same size now and she is always borrowing them to go out in the snow to play (she is 12). Today, I bought her the same exact ones in blue and brown. I treated the leather with a leather conditioning/waterproofing wax that softens the leather and makes these boots very easy to break-in. Additionally, I bought the LL Bean shearling liner just like mine and they are a perfect fit. She wears a women's 7.5 and I ordered the women's 7 in a med. width. The boots were just a tad big on both of us with just the liner that comes with the boot but they were not so big that sizing down would be better. The shearling liner makes for a perfect fit. Since these are intended to be her cold-weather snow boots and will be worn with medium-weight to heavyweight socks we found the slightly larger fit good for a little wiggle room for her toes. If her feet grown to a women's 8, these will still fit her nicely with the standard insole that comes with the boot. I wear a women's 7 and bought this boot in my size. I did try these on in a 6, and even though they fit, they did not have the wiggle room for my toes with thick socks. The women's 7 was the best fit. These boots are built to last. I may buy another pair in the future but not because the ones I own are worn out. It will be because I will want a new color combination. These are wonderful boots. I love them.

I am really happy with these boots and am glad I sized down (I am usually a true 8 but ordered a 7 as recommended). I wanted a non-bulky snow boot that was still cute and could be worn in all seasons as a rain boot. I can still wear thick wool socks with them on colder snowy days (below 30 degrees the lower rubber area doesn't really keep your feet warm unless you have thick socks on) and thinner socks for cool rainy days. It makes them a truly an all season boot. I initially got the thinsulate version but returned them because they didn't fit right with all the added insulation inside. In my opinion, you can just wear these original ones with wool socks and you are all set.

Light, comfortable, waterproof, Longest walk so far has been only an hour and could have kept going. No blisters. Perfect.

Best boot ever! Even down south where it doesn't get below the 30s!

My wife said she wanted a pair of what I call "duck boots" for Christmas. I said, "no, don't. They're hideous. A friend had some 35 years ago and it looked liked he was wearing Donald Duck's butt. Twice!" But there was only one company I would look for this type of wear. I searched the LL Bean boot selection and found the pages. I realized they'd come a long way in three decades. I went through first and thought, "Huh, I actually like that one." Told my wife I found the boots on the website, come take a look. I also mentioned I liked one but let her choose what she liked. I scrolled down for her, none yet.....none ..."stop. I love that one!" Ha. Guess which one? The same I'd picked. True story. Those just stood out to me like my wife did when I first met her 18 years ago. But long story short, Christmas came and since so have several rain storms. She says she has been nice and toasty dry in the coldest rain. Tomorrow is calling for rain as well. I told her it will be a Christmas boots day. We have actually since seen a competitor's similar boot and price recently while passing a store window. It had a seam coming loose and hadn't yet walked out of the store. We'll take Bean. We did have to send a first order back due to size (smooth transaction, btw). We had to re-order a size larger. But over 15+ years, I've never had to toss a Bean product due to quality. I have every piece that still fits. And some younger person who shops second-hand support stores is likely still wearing the rest. (This form asks for a picture. I searched for a bit before I located my wife's Christmas boots. Not with her million other shoes....oh noooo. Beside her at all times in her comfy chair. Go figure.)

I adore these boots!! I wear them daily! They are comfortable, durable and cute! They are large for the label size but, the size chart explains that perfectly! So be sure to read it before ordering!

I love these boots. Definitely recommend going a size down, as they advise. I usually wear 8.5 and went with size 7. They're warm and keep your feet dry while trudging through the snow. Takes a little bit to break them in but, in my mind, every good boot does. You won't regret this purchase!

Purchased them for my daughter. Would recommend ordering one size smaller than you typically wear. My daughter and I normally wear a 9 but the 8 fits perfectly with a light or medium sock. This boot is a 10/10

i got the shoes a month or so ago. they are wonderful. they are for small-medium calf. if you are a large one, you might need to have one hole down for the laces. i walked under the rain and the water didnt get thru. i also wore tick socks as i am size 7.5 and they are 7. it is true, dont get a size up, better to get a size down. i am very happy with them and i hope they last long as they are a good investment for your feet. here in seattle rains a lot and we are between fall and winter and they are pretty warm and good to walk around. i am hoping to wear them for spring as well as sometimes is a bit chill still.

Not sure if this is helpful, but I've had my boots since I lived in Maine in 1975...They are still in awesome condition, a bit of wear on the outside of the heel but to be expected; tread with hardly any wear spots. Stitching in perfect condition all the way around. Original laces. I added a thinsulate pair of insoles years ago, and they were a big help in warmth. I feel guilty that I haven't needed another pair in all these years, so I'm buying another just to have for another 45 years! They are incredibly well made. Wicked good buy.

I ordered these for my granddaughter and she was thrilled to get 'the real thing' after having knock offs for awhile. She normally wears 9.5, but with recommendation from your website, I ordered size 9. They were a perfect fit and she says so comfortable. I was glad to hear that since it would have been problematic to have to return them. She's in a different state. I love that she loves them.

We have purchased at least 15 pairs of bean boots for our family!! Love the quality and craftsmanship of each pair. Very comfortable while being functional for a New England fall!!
