Purchased these for the wife to work around the Farmstead. Rained the day after they arrived and they were put to work immediately and performed above & beyond. May be the finest quality footwear I ever purchased. Aesthetically pleasing; excellent quality; extremely comfortable; and look like they will last for years. Highly recommended!

I ordered the Bean boots according to the LL Bean size chart. I am normally 8 1/2 M so I went with 7 M. They were way too small, so I sent them back and exchanged them for 8 M, which fits perfect with medium or heavy weight cotton socks. One of the soles was not fully in place, but no big deal, I had to place it. The shoelaces are a little stiff and short. Again, no big deal, I can buy different ones if I like. What is a big deal is that the boots are amazingly comfortable. I have yet to walk in snow, but they are waterproof in rain. I have seen complaints that they are difficult to get on because of the tongue being sewn to the boot. If the tongue were not sewn to the boot, they would be much less waterproof. I loosen the laces completely before putting them on and have no issues getting my foot in. Overall I would say if you are half-size, size down a half size, not a size and a half. The boots are worth every penny. These are the most comfortable boots I have ever owned and rather stylish as well. Cheers LL Bean.

These boots are awesome. I wear a 9.5 or 10 and ordered a 9. Probably could have gotten an 8.5 but I can wear thicker socks because they are bigger. Wore them in the snow all weekend and my feet stayed dry!

I've been wanting a pair of Bean boots for years and I'm so glad I finally took the plunge! The dark blue/black color combo is so versatile, but I did switch out the laces for black because I don't like the look of colored laces. Because I bought these at the end of winter, I have not had a chance to rigorously test them. During the brief time I've had them, they have kept my feet warm and dry. I followed the guidelines of ordering one size smaller (I only wear size 11) and the 10 fit perfectly!

I've always wanted a pair of these and finally ordered them! They are the best, very comfortable, and you can tell they are VERY well made. The do run one size big, so I ordered an 8 since I usually wear a 9. I'm so happy with them!

This is a great boot! It looks fantastic, is comfortable and definitely waterproof! I walked into a freezing cold stream with them on and my feet stayed perfectly dry! They are also great in the mud, and the rubber bottoms make it easy to wipe off dirt with a wet paper towel. Also, some reviews comment on a stiff upper. After about a month of wear, the upper softened and is now incredibly comfortable. A note on sizing: I wear a size 8.5 in sneakers and a size 8 in flats, and a 7 fits me perfectly in an UNLINED boot. However a 7 LINED boot was too tight in the toes. If I ever purchase a lined version of this boot, I would get a size 8. A note on temperature: When I originally looked for bean boots, the employees at the LL Bean store recommended getting unlined. I didn't listen and ordered a Thinsulate boot hoping it would work in both cold and warmer weather. Turns out the employees knew what they were talking about! My feet also got VERY warm hiking in 40-45 degree weather with the Thinsulate lined boots, so I decided to exchange for unlined boots. Speaking as someone who likes the cold, the unlined boot is perfect. A warm pair of wool socks will make these boots perfectly comfortable in 30 degree weather and your feet are less likely to sweat if you wear them inside.

I wear a 7.5 in a women's tennis shoe. I ordered a 7 initially and it Was 2 inches too long. I sent them back and got a 6 and they fit perfectly! Love these shoes. Very comfy and warm! Customer service is great and will send you your boots quickly should you need a size change.

As always great quality. I bought these as a 3 season boot since New England can be wet and muddy in the spring and fall but to warm for a lined boot. Its still winter and I have worn these with a heavy sock. My feet were warm and dry.

Since I am new LL Bean customer it must admit that it took me three tries to figure out my correct size. I am a size 11 with narrow feet so I ended up getting a size 10 in the mentioned style and OMG, they are so comfortable and fit perfectly. I have been finding a reason to wear them all the time. I would recommend to anyone. WINNING!!! LOL!

I settled on the blue one with black rubber bottom. It's so cute and I wear mostly blues and black mostly. I wear a 7/12 and the 7 was the right size. Going down one size would not work for me as other reviewers have said they did.

For years I had been wanting duck boots and these do not disappoint! I did order a half size smaller than I would normally wear. Great fit from the start with boot socks. Also, I put mink oil on them to soften the leather a bit...love wearing them!

I'm normally a size 7.5-8 and I ordered a size 7 and it fit perfectly. I wore these in the Seattle rain & snow and had no issues. I just find it annoying that every time you are going to take your shoes off, the shoes don't slide off easily but that's minor in comparison to the benefit of having dry feet/socks.

I have wanted a pair of these boots for years. I finally decided I was going to buy them. They were on back order when I first ordered them. They arrived last week. They are great. It was recommended that you buy a size smaller than you normally wear. The fit is perfect. You can wear a heavier sock and still have room.

My first pair of Bean Boots and I LOVE them! I actually ordered the 6" boots originally, and called the next day to change them over to 8". The customer service was AMAZING - a real person answered immediately and within 3 minutes my order was switched over. As an added bonus, I ended up receiving the boots earlier than quoted. These are so comfortable and I'm very happy with them. I did follow the sizing recommendations - I'm usually a 9, so I ordered an 8, and they are perfect. Still have a little room to move around and didn't require any breaking in period. Definitely recommend!

I have now owned my bean boots for one year and wear them as often as possible. I waited 3 long months to get my bean boots and they were definitely worth the wait. they are the comfiest boots I've owned and they keep my feet warm and dry, which is what you need on vancouver island in bc. my hunter boots have taken a backseat to these boots. the stitching around the front of the boot was a little uneven but it doesn't really bother me. i am normally an 8.5 in shoes and i ordered a 7 in the thinsulate and they fit perfectly.

I bought a pair of these boots for my 12 year old daughter. She LOVES her boots! Per the size recommendations, my daughter normally wears a size 9. I followed L.L.Bean suggestion and went a size down and ordered the size 8. PERFECT FIT since my daughter wears the thin socks. Thank you!

I received these shoes in the mail a few weeks ago, and they are fantastic! After a couple days of wearing the leather in, they are very comfortable. I usually wear a size 7.5/8 (usually 7.5) and I ordered a 6. They fit great with medium thickness socks, which I typically wear. I would definitely recommend these boots!

I love these boots so far. Have not had them long. I originally ordered a size down as ll bean suggests. Did not fit. I then ordered my actual shoe size. They fit perfect. The tongue of the shoe is a little hard to work with at first but as you wear the boots, it gets easier. I also replaced the shoestrings with paracord shoe strings - much softer and easier to work with. Overall I would buy again.

This was the 5th pair of bean boots my household owns between my husband and I. I love how comfortable and versatile they are... hence why I now have a pair for every season. I bought the brown/tan 8in bean boots when they were backordered and when they finally came in I noticed the leather on one boot wasn't looking right. It wrinkled funny and felt thinner than the other boot. The left boot also hurt where the leather lip folds into the laces. I don't live near a store and and thought the only solution was to send mine back and get right back into the backorder line. I emailed LLB, and they graciously told me just to keep my boots for now and that they would send me a new pair when they came back in stock (1 month) and to then mail my defective pair back. It has only been about 2 weeks and I just received my new pair. They are perfect. If anyone thinks their boots aren't as comfortable as they expected or might have a defect, contact LLB! They are wonderful and a new pair might be all you need, you probably just got a faulty pair. Thank you LLB!

Ordered these in women's size 7 as I usually wear a 6 or 6.5 in other brands. I tried these on today with the tall raglan LLBean socks and the boots fit well. Just right. I have narrow feet and these are a medium width. They still fit well. They are stiff but I think that is because they're so new. It is comfy in the foot area, not pinching or tight. A great boot.

I ordered the black/grape pair and love them. They are perfect for the winter train commute in Boston. The purple is more subtle in person. Since I wear a lot of black and gray, this color boot works perfectly. I've received several complements on them, too.

I got these boots in the mail last week and they're exactly what I wanted! I always wear a size 10, but based on all of the reviews I decided to get a 9. They fit great and they're actually a bit roomy. I got them in navy and I love the way they look - they're classy (well, as classy as duck boots can be) and high-quality. I've worn them twice and I've already gotten compliments on them.
