This is only the second pair of LL Bean rubber mocs I've needed to purchase in 40 years, so the quality is unquestioned. But I don't understand the sizing description. If the recommendation is to buy a full size smaller (and its been this way forever) why not just size them accurately?

I just received a pair to replace my favorite canvas trimmed Mocs that were lost in a move. I was worried the heel would flop off as there are many complaints about the loose heel. The tie can be pulled tighter and the heel will snug up nicely. These are my favorite rainy day shoes; also great for gardening.

My wife loves the boot. Waterproof, warm, stylish - perfect fit for what she was looking for in need.

Usually wear size 8 but followed your suggestion and went size smaller and the fit was perfect.

Everything that I have ever bought from LL Bean is great and these boots are no exception. They were purchased for my wife for Christmas. I am confused, however, by the size drama. My wife wears an 8 or 8.5 always. The instructions for ordering were to order a size to size and 1/2 smaller, but this didn't work. The 7 was way too short but wide enough. We had to return for an 8 in a narrow width. I have 2 questions: 1) Why not offer 1/2 sizes? 2) Why not just make the shoes and label them in the correct sizes. I wear an 11 in almost every shoe, but I also had to purchase a 10 last year when I bought my shoes. If you know that your shoes are a size to big then why not just change the sizes? Am I missing something? Anyway, thanks for the great quality and friendly service!!

Nice shoe, just ordered too big. Have to go down 1 size and a 1/2.

I ordered these last winter and I am so pleased. I also have the small batch in more fashionable colors. They keep my feet warm and dry. Very comfortable. The innersole is removable and washable. Can also be replaced. Great buy! I can navigate slippery surfaces carefully, of course with these mocs.

Great for Hurricane Season and Winter Cold

I ordered size 8 and 7 based on the reviews that these run large. I am normally an 8 or 81/2. Both sizes were too big and slipped off of my heels. I returned them and ordered a size 6 (which I never wear). These fit very well after just a bit of adjustment to the laces. I really like the color of the navy, and the best part is that I can just slip them on and go! They are perfect for muddy conditions, rain, or light/packed snow.

I love these rain shoes I plan to wear them year round and probably without socks in summer. I read a review where someone said they sized down to a wide and I tried it with these and it was perfect. My heel does not come out as some have reported. I normally wear a 8- reg, and sizing down to a 7 reg felt too tight, especially since I have a new bunion on one foot. I have some Bean boots I sized down to 8 reg (wide was not an option) leaving a little room in the length but not quite as much width as I'd like, but still fine. From now on when the wide option is available I am going to select 7-wide.

I love my LL Bean rubber Mocs/duck shoes!! These were too big, so I sent them back and got the 9's which fit great. These Mocs were a replacement for my LL Bean Mocs I have had for years and years. I love that they are made in the USA too! :-)

These are comfortable straight out of the box, no need for a break-in period. The heel cup is wider than most shoes, but there are no worries about blisters. The leather tongue is floppier than in the photo, but, eh, whatever. I followed Bean's size guidelines and ordered a full size smaller than I normally wear (as I don't like wearing socks), and they fit perfectly, I can even wear lightweight socks without an issue.

Definitely runs large, but these are the easiest to put on and take off - perfect for outdoor shoes that you want to slip into and not worry about mud. This is my third pair in...15 years maybe?

I bought these for my mother-in-law for Christmas and she loves how they fit and the ease to quickly slip them on and off your feet.

Bought these for winter use with thick socks, so fit is good. Tried other less expensive versions but had to take them back--these shoes are the real deal! Comfortable, weather-proof, everything I was hoping for! You can't go wrong with these!

You made it clear that you should order a size down from regular but because my foot is a bit wide, I ordered my regular size as i wanted to wear with heavier socks. They were way too big. I appreciate the return label and dropped off at UPS yesterday and am eagerly awaiting the correct size moc for me.

I checked with her before ordering to size 8 Medium that that is still what she wears. Unfortunately, I am having to send them back for a size 8 Narrow pair. We both realize that that is a chance you take with ordering without being able to try them on. <shrug & smile> Aside from the size Issue, my sister LOVES the Mocs. We live in a rural area and she has watched me wearing & enjoying my pair for years and she is looking forward to having a pair of her own by the back door. :) Great Products! I still have & sometimes wear my original pair of Bean boots that I bought in the mid'70s.

Usually everything out of the box fits me perfect. Ordered the 11w and it was just too large even with a heavier sock. I exchanged it for a 10w. Perfect Love all Bean products never can go wrong

I ordered a size 10 which is my true shoe size. They were way too large. Reordered a size 9 and the fit is much better.

I live in the northeast and these shoes have come in very handy this winter. They are comfortable...can wear them all day...and keep my feet warm and dry. I have a pair of boots that are over 11 years old that are still doing the job. I would imagine that these will last just as long.

These are great, waterproof and comfortable! I wear an 8.5 and have narrow feet, but the 7 Medium in these boot, so be careful on sizing. I can't wear thick socks which is fine 98% of the time, but when it is super cold the boots don't insulate at 30 or below so my feet will get cold. Overall, would absolutely recommend.

Purchased a pair as a gift for my wife. Reading the order instructions, it said they run big and suggested to order a size smaller...which I did. My wife wears a size 7, so I ordered a size 6. When the arrived and she tried them on, they were still too large for her...even with the thickest socks she has. Sadly I had to return them as size 6 is the smallest they offer. She was, lets say, heartbroken as she really liked them. They appeared very well made and looked extremely comfortable provided a correct fit.

bought these for my daughter who has 2 large dogs and lots of mud on her new lot. when she comes in from her dog duties, she slips out of her "muckers" at the back door. When the shoes dry she simply knocks the dirt off the easy to clean soles. If dog "duty" is involved, the shoe soles and uppers are washable. She wanted her regular size so that she could wear them barefoot. she had to adjust the leather ties to make them fit snugly. I have a pair also that I can't do without for the same reasons.

I purchased these for my wife, because she needs a shoe with a great tread. This product fits the bill. Plus they are toasty on her feet.

I had my last pair of rubber mocs for over 20 years until the bottoms finally wore off. I just love these for the garden; easy to slip on and keeps the water out. This pair has even better arch support than my old ones which I need for my aging feet. Great shoes
