This moc is good in size and appearance. The only problem is the heel, which is enormous. The heel is so big that I cannot keep the moc on my foot. I cannot wear it until I find a way to stuff or fill the heel. Other than the heel size, this footwear is exactly what I wanted.

I am a size 6 and I really, really want to own these shoes. Apparently, it is not to be. I have a pair of the original mocs and it's like wearing giant clogs around. Even with 2 pairs of winter socks, I feel like I'm wearing clown shoes. A previous reviewer had said that these new colors fit *so* much better and were almost true to size. I thought, "Hey, great, I've a slightly wide foot, so even if they're a little big, I should still be golden!" WRONG. The sizing is just as terrible as the originals. I ordered the navy color combo (which is adorable) and they are, once again, at least a half to full size too big. I'm not quite sure, but let's say that even when I have socks on and tighten the outer laces as much as possible, they're still flopping around and there's a good 1/2"-3/4" of extra room at the toe. They also run wide - and I have bunions, so that's saying something. Word to the wise, continue to go a size down and you should be just fine. I WANT THESE TO FIT SO BAD. Unfortunately, since I am a 6, I am doomed. I'm returning these and hoping the Bar Harbor Rain Shoes have a more accurate fit.

My old mocs were a half size. But now half sizes are not available. I chose to go up a size than down. The length was fine, but even though I ordered narrows, my mocs were still way to wide. I cinched them as tightly as I could and now they look silly. I am in Canada and it is just too bothersome to pay extra to return, reorder, try again......to what? Pay extra to return, reorder, and try again? I was very disappointed in my purchase.

I normally wear an 8.5, so I ordered a size 8 in these adorable mocs after reading that the boots ran large. Unfortunately, I found that the boots were still a half-size (~0.5 in) too long and *very* loose in the heel, no matter how much I tightened the laces. My heels would completely slip out with every step. Optimistic, I exchanged the boots for a size 7. I was disappointed to find that this smaller size was too short; my toes pressed against the front of the shoe. Also, despite the short length and lace adjustments, my heels still managed to slip out of the backs while walking. I'll be returning this second pair and won't be ordering another from LL Bean. The fit just isn't right for those of us who are in-between sizes... Other companies make half-sizes for a reason. :/ I'm bummed. These puppies are cute!

The problem I have with these mocs is not the quality of the workmanship which is excellent. The sizing is just awful. I purchased one size down from what I normally wear because this is what I did for the boots that look similar to these & they fit perfect. I normally wear a size 9, so I purchased a size 8. They were WAY too big & flopped off the back of my feet when I walked. I exchanged for a size 7. They were way too small. Exchanged those for an 8 narrow & they seemed to fit, but when I went walking through the field with my dog in one day they had rubbed blisters on the back of my heels. I gave up. I spent a TON of money on a pair of mocs that I can only wear to go out & water plants, fill bird feeders, get the mail, etc, but not for walking my dog through the field in the wet grass. Very disappointed b/c my lace-up boots fit perfect & are so comfortable. I wanted something I could just slip on & off going in & out of the house at times. I think they're just too heavy & stiff maybe. I had ordered 2 pairs in different colors. I only kept the one pair that I kept changing the sizes on & still couldn't get right. If you can get the fit right, they're probably great.

I have a wide foot and a narrow heel and these shoes have an especially wide heel. As a result, there was a popping sound as my heel came out of the shoe with every step I took. The waterproof laced boot would probably work better for me.

Be sure to order these mocs a size SMALLER! I have been an 8 med. for as long as I can remember and when I received them and tried them on, I walked right out of them. I even tried thicker socks but that didn't help. Now I have to exchange and am not happy.

I really wanted to love these mocs right out of the box, but the sizing on these are absolutely terrible. I usually wear size 8.5 regulars (but anywhere from 8-9.5 in reality), and so I religiously read all of the previous reviews, searched the internet, and watched the videos to properly size them and ended up ordering the size 7s (1.5 down). They seemed like they fit, with a loose heel so I wore them for a few days and ended up in so much pain I actually dreaded having to walk the 5 minutes to the bus every day. The loose heel caused my foot to slide out with each step and also pushed my toes forward, pinching the inside bone near my big toe. It felt like trying to keep heavy flip flops on my feet. This was with wearing thin socks, heavy socks, super heavy alpaca boot socks, and all three in combination, so it wasn't for lack of trying. After calling customer service, they recommended ordering another size down to 6 medium(surprisingly, since they already felt too small in the toes). After two weeks of constant, somewhat sore wear, these shoes have finally broken in to where I feel like they'll work out. The heel is still a bit loose, but more like a slip-on style shoe. My toes pinched at first but that is going away as the shoe has loosened up. I think it takes time for the stiff rubber duck bill to loosen up and mold to your toes. But it's crazy to expect a customer to go through all that just because you don't want to provide normal sizing! The only reason I kept them is that they are very functional, with the duck bill and complete waterproofing. The most important feature for me is that they don't get salt stains, meaning I don't have to do any maintenance on them. I'm able to walk through 3-4 inches of snow and keep my feet dry. I can't fit my really heavy socks in them yet, though so if I'm tramping through snow consistently my feet eventually start to freeze. These should be great for spring rainy weather. All in all, I can't really recommend these to anyone without huge reservations. I don't think the sizing issues were in any way my fault, but I still had to pay the shipping fee to exchange them even after asking for an exception politely, which I found pretty unfair. Usually I'm LLBean's biggest fan, but I don't really feel like that right now. The one nice feature with customer service is that they had no problem with the return, even after I had worn the first pair for 4 days. Most companies wouldn't do a return after wearing the shoes. Finally, I bought the brown/brown pair and the color is simple and classic and doesn't immediately stand out as much as the more popular tan/brown boots that everyone has on right now, so I don't match every other person I see.

the shoe fit great - wore it around the house a bit, no problems. However, when I wore them outside on uneven ground, I noticed two problems 1) top was rubbing the side of my foot, making a blister 2) on the other foot, the side was rubbing my foot. I was wearing heavy socks. Too bad these nice boots had to be returned.

Moving to the mtns--wanted good pair of sturdy shoes for dog-walking in all sorts of weather. Normally a perfect sz 11 (all my hiking boots of various brands are 11's). Ordered sz11 - at least an inch too long and way too wide--gigantic. Then ordered a sz10 - fit overall was OK in length, toe box and arch, but heel cup was way too big even with insert and my heavy SmartWool hiking socks-- feet kept flopping out of them when I walked. So then ordered a sz10-Narrow. Now shoes a big snug around toe box and arch, but heel cup again is way too big. These are some of the funkiest fitting shoes I've ever tried. All three paris are going back. I had a pair of this kind of shoe from LLBean years ago when I lived in Chicago, but when I moved to Miami 15+ yrs ago, I gave them away. Now I regret that decision-- I'd give anything to have my old version of LLBean's Maine mocs or boots back again.

I followed the sizing instructions and ordered down a size. It fit well until I decided to walk. Practically walked out of them. The heal is cut way to wide, while the front of the shoe fit well. I wanted them for walking the dog in wet or slushy weather, but I would have to shuffle along to keep them on my feet. Was using heavy socks too. Other commenters had this problem! But I'd thought I'd try them anyway. Back they go.

the sizing on these mocs is very strange. i ordered an 8 (my usual size) and they were way too big. i returned them for a size 7 and even these do not fit correctly. they pinch my feet at the toe and my heel slips. i would not order them again. not worth the $79.00 i paid.

I always have a difficult time buying slip-on shoes. I have an extremely narrow heel. Even though I normally wear 8M, I ordered 7N. Length was good but heel still slips. Have decided to try the gumshoes (low tie shoes) instead in 7N. Keeping my fingers crossed as I need something like this for an upcoming trip to Alaska.

These mocs are made well but are much too big. I bought a size smaller and the width and length are still too big. I have tried heavy socks and it helps but on warmer days they are too hot. I am constantly twisting my ankle when walking on uneven surfaces. I really think these are sized for men. I will be returning the mocs and hope that they will be getting the old sizing back.

I've worn LL Bean boots for ~40 years. In ordinary shoes I wear 91/2 to 10. I ordered tens and have returned them. I was swimming in them. Clearly I needed a 9 at the biggest. SIZE DOWN!

Sorry boots did not fit. Also, sorry that your new rubber bottoms just are not as good as the old soft bottoms you use to use. I have purchased bean boots for over 50 years and I simply cannot wear them since you changed the bottoms.

I have looked far and wide for a shoe like this. Unfortunatly due to the sizing that LL Bean has used for their boots (making all sizes 1/2 size larger), I returned my pair. I know that I cannot be the only lady with a traditional size 6 foot that wishes LL Bean would make smaller boot sizes.

I ordered these after reading all the reviews. Customers recommended ordering down a full size (I normally wear a 10 med., so I ordered a 9 med.), length was perfect. The width of the shoe is wrong in the heel area. I like shoes a bit more ample in the instep, these felt normal, not too big. The heel, is double wide. I even donned my thickest pair of winter socks to see if that would take up the slack -- it didn't help. A card placed inside the shoe box by Bean said the shoes were meant to be more ample in width and were constructed with heavy winter socks in mind, unfortunately it doesn't take care of the problem. I'm sorry to say, these shoes are being returned. FYI- The shoes are cut like a regular loafer, they really are intended for rainy days, stay away from deep puddles, definitely not designed for snow of any depth. The shoes are well constructed and look stylish.

I have coveted these mocs forever and finally took the plunge when they went on sale recently. When the shoe arrived, I could immediately tell they are a great shoe in terms of craftsmanship and quality. However, I was disappointed at how sloppy the fit is. I did look at the video and read about how they are supposed to be a bit big in the fit. However, exchanging it for a size smaller didn't help either. I went from a 10 narrow (my normal size) to a 9 narrow. The heel still slipped and the toe box began to feel a bit squished. It's possible that the 9 medium would have fit a bit better, but after two tries I am done. Both have been sent back. Probably the gum shoe would work better for me - something that laces and stays put. I just loved the idea of being able to slip this shoe off and on with ease. Especially on cold, rainy days.

Normally I wear a size 6. But this shoes is so HUGE! So, when I got this shoes, I was so sad. I can never wear this lovely colours shoes. Everybody thinks LLBean boots and this shoes are so large. Please make more smaller size for women! Size 3, 4 and 5. Not for kids size.

Loved the material and color of the rubber moc, however they were too long and flopped off my heel with each step. I am typically an 8 1/2 and ordered the size 7 per recommendations. They were still too big so they had to be returned. I was very disappointed, because I love the look of them. Maybe if they were made slightly deeper, the heel would stay in place.

This is my 5th pair of llbean mocs. This time they were way too wide in the heel. I always order down as specified, from my normal 81/2 -9 size shoe to a 8 moc. They were over 1/2" larger in the heel width than my old moc. I am going to try a size 7 and see if I can keep them on my feet. I certainly hope so as these have been my winter ranch shoes for over 12 years.

The quality is good, comfortable footbed, sturdy. I was disappointed in the sizing. I had read other reviews so ordered two sizes. Neither fit well. I ordered narrow and the toe box was fine, but the heel remained wide and slipped with each step. I was very disappointed and had to send both back. -- If you can get a pair to fit well I am sure they will last a long time!

Loved the burgundy/black color and overall style. Found them unpleasantly heavy and very very hard to fit-- wear 8 1/2 in everyday shoes, so ordered a 7 per instructions and reviews-- the left one was too short/right just right. I returned them, wishing they were made in half sizes! My quest goes on for rain shoes that fit!

The quality is very good. They were not what I wanted for gardening. They were wide and the explanation is they are allowing for a heavy winter sock. I wanted mocs to wear in warmer weather, where I only have on thin socks. I also did not like the laces. I wanted a slip on shoe, as many times I come into the garage muddy, and slip them off there. They would be more for cold and wet rather than warm and wet weather.
