Would love to have this slip on boot but need a half size...I tried 2 sizes and neither fit.

I purchased & wear a size 8 in the 8" LL Bean Boot so logically assumed that the size would be comparable for these LL Bean Boot moccasins. The size 8 is huge - at least one size too wide and too long. While sending them back to exchange for a smaller size is a minor hassle, being charged $6.50 to return them is unacceptable in my opinion. Especially considering the number of people who have had this same issue with sizing. My original order was placed quickly & using my smartphone so I didn't take the time to read through the reviews where I see now that many have had the same experience.

These mocs are so cute and classic! They do run huge and even with the right length the heel was way too loose. I could not walk without my heel falling out. They were returned.

I was excited to see these as they were just what I was looking for. I had read other reviews and ordered a size up but when they came they were still too big and I had to return them. As they were so off the wall with the sizing, I didn't want to take the chance and order another size only to have to return them again I would think llbean would address this concern as so many reviewers have pointed out the sizing issue. Because of the quality of the workmanship, which was good, I'm giving them 2 stars instead of one.

I LOVE my lined Bean boots, so I thought these mocs would be perfect for spring/summer/fall gardening and light outdoors activities. After looking at the reviews and comments, I ordered a size down, and my normal narrow width. The length is okay, but they are NOT a narrow. I tried replacing the insoles, and tightening the laces. That helped, but my heel still slides around and slips out. I added a heel cup, and tried a padded heel thingy that goes on the back. My heels still slide around!! These are NOT narrow. I can't go to a smaller size because they'd be too short. After 9 months of trying to make these mocs work, I'm finally throwing in the towel. These are not a true narrow width shoe!

I bought a pair of these two years ago to use for barn chores in warm weather. Apparently, they are not intended for actual use anymore. The upper has now separated from the lower part, making them unusable. I remember my late father-in-law having a pair that he used for daily chores for over twenty years. I thought I would be able to use these for a few years more. I guess these boots are meant to only be used as a "fashion statement" rather than as a chore shoe.

I wanted to love everything about these mocs and was thrilled that they come in narrow! But it is as if the narrow only applies to the front of the shoe - the back slips on and off like a clog (as others have reported). I had to return them because even with thick socks, they would not stay on my feet. I am hoping LLBean modifies the style in the future so that I can buy them again and keep them. It would also be helpful to offer half-sizes, as the 7 was a bit short and the 8 too big. If they could get the sizing right, I'd probably buy multiple pairs because they are comfortable and perfect in every other way.

I own the thinsulate lined LLBean boot and LOVE them. Being able to buy Narrow AA is a must. The boot is a perfect fit. So, based on my thinsulate lined LLBean boot and the perfect fit, I ordered same 10AA in rubber Moc. I thought the fit would be the same. Not the case. The heel on the rubber Moc is wide and sloppy fit. My heel lifts out so I will be returning. I thought maybe go down a size, but with a narrow foot it's important to have a tight heel fit so foot doesn't slide forward in footwear. It's all about the wide heel sloppy fit that causes me not to exchange for different size. Narrow is Narrow and the heel should be, too. Disappointed.

I ordered these for a Christmas gift. The description states they are sized for heavy socks. Why? This creates problems such as how heavy and how much smaller size for standard socks. Size the to the established sizes and let the customer decide how much larger they need. I ordered one size smaller and they are still too big. I sent them back, they were not processed for more than a week after they arrived at the LL Bean facility. I was then informed they would not be in stock till January 29. Just received an email today (January 18) they're going to be on back order even longer! The reason people shop at stores such as this is Quality and Customer Service. The quality seems to be fine but this is a customer service nightmare. Especially since it's a gift!! VERY DISAPPOINTING

My wife wears a size 9 to 9.5. LL Bean makes these boots only in whole sizes so when I ordered a 9 I was concerned that it would be too small. But even with heavy socks it was way too big. So we returned it for exchange several days ago. We still haven't received confirmation. Also, in order to enter this "rating" I have to log in. Why? So LLBean could lengthen its list of ad recipients? Too crass for me!

I read reviews before ordering and ordered a size smaller. The heel is much to Big and flops off making the moc uncomfortable, awkward and precarious walking in grass or uneven ground. I Inserted heel cushions, wore thick socks, pulled the rawhide as tight as it would go to no avail. I cannot order a AA size as my foot is not a AA. In hindsight I should have ordered by mail with a tracing of my foot or returned the Rubber Moc. I really wanted to like this moc but will now only be able to wear it occasionally when it rains and not get the intended outdoor use. I think these shoes are made for men sizes only. If you think your heel will have any chance of slipping do not order. Disappointed.

I wanted to love the LLBean Mocs. The quality was great but the fit was just very poor. Footwear needs to fit properly. The Mocs were very loose without the insoles and I tried to tighten the laces but on each step my heel would slide around. The toe room was great and the width everywhere else. I tried my thickest socks and the heels still slipped.

I really liked the shoes, but they didn't fit! Have returned them for one larger size. I read dozens of size comments before ordering, and they consistently said "order 1-1/2 sizes down." I did, didn't work. Looking forward to receiving a pair that fits.

I took the word of another reviewer who also wears an 8 1/2 shoe....and when they came they were too narrow and probably not big enough. I felt like the Ugly Stepsisters in CINDERELLA trying to get their foot into the glass slipper! I cannot understand why the sizing isn't American sizing since they are made in Maine. Anyway I sent them back, $6.50 postage and did not order another pair. Too bad too because I was really looking forward to them.

Unfortunately I did not see the comment before purchase stating that these run large. Why should the customer have to guess if they will fit. Size 7 should be a size 7. These are at least a half size if not larger. Do I know if a 6 would fit because they do not come in half sizes? No I do not. Why does it always become the customers responsibility to absorb these problems. Make the manufacturer produce the correct size or DON'T STOCK THEM!

Liked the idea of this shoe. Will be traveling to a very wet climate, and these would've been perfect. They were very heavy, which I would have dealt with, but the fit was not anywhere near right. The shoe was a little on the low side, which made them just flop around. The 'tie' is more for decoration than function. I would have ordered down, but I think the heel would still have been an issue. Returned

It would have been best to order several sizes in order to get the right width and length. I ordered a 7 Narrow and they were very wide and long. Almost as if they were mislabeled.

I read the reviews and ordered these in a smaller size then I normally wear.I didn't like the way they looked and there was no way I could wear them. I would have to go down another size if I wanted to keep them. I will be returning the pair that I bought.

Well made in USA shoes however sizing is way off. I wear a Size 7 and ordered that size. They were huge and I mean huge. The width is off too. Near back of shoe 3 inches wide. Don't care for flap or tongue of shoe either as I think it is too large. Very disappointed.

Because they don't have 1/2 sizes I ordered my size. This was way to large. Sent the those back, then ordered a size smaller, they are too big too. I am keeping them. I don't want to pay to return them again. I will put extra socks on to fill in the extra room. These boots are at least 1 size too big, if not 1 1/2 size to large.

I like the look of the shoe,but I ordered 2 narrow and it is still too wide for my feet. I have to wear 2 pairs of socks.

I have the bean boot 8 inch lace up and loved it so much ordered the slip on moc - NEVER have I had a problem with a shoe being so wide in the heel that taking a step left the heel of the shoe on the floor. I will have to return these as they are way too wide in the heel of the foot. Size ordered was correct size.

Disappointed the the traditional duck shoe is not available for women, I ordered the moc shoe in size 8 but it is too long and wide. Afraid to order 7 that the toe area will be too short. Returning them and will probably end up with a Sperry duck shoe.

First, I ordered my normal size - 9 (I am an 8 1/2 and there are not half sizes). It was very large. Second, I ordered a size 8. Again too large. Third, I gave up. I think that a size 7 would be too short in length yet too wide in width. I feel like LL Bean took a man's shoe and converted it to a women's shoe in size only. It doesn't work. Look at all the reviews LL Bean - you need to go back to the drawing board on this one.

I ordered these, per the recommendation, one full size smaller than recommended, and I was still swimming in them. Only a very thick sock would allow me to wear them but in the summer, this would be too much. A thinner sock had the clog falling off. I returned them and am hoping to get the Gumshoes that should stay on better. Unfortunately those can't be ordered as they aren't available.
