I am so pleased with this new pair as I feel like the leather is more supple than I remember my old pair was. I have a flat wide feet of size 9 and the size 9 wide fits comfortably with room for either thicker socks or thicker insole. The length is a little bit on the long side. Width is perfect.

Awesome boot which keeps feet warm and dry in Colorado winters. Love that I can drive to the gym or quick standserrands without tying laces. Insulated boot is true to size in my opinion. Uninsulated I would go down one size.

I rarely leave reviews, but I hope this helps others find their proper size, and quickly. I normally wear a 10.5 running shoe, so I originally ordered a Bean boot in a size 9, medium/normal width, based on others' reviews saying to order one whole size down. But when I tried them on, there was way too much room in the toe box, and the leather uppers were also way too roomy and bunched up for my liking. The boots fit, but I felt like I was swimming in them, and this was only going to get worse as they broke in and stretched. I then ordered a size 8, medium width, and although they felt like the right size and fit, the bottom of my right foot starting hurting pretty badly after wearing them walking around a mountain town on a long weekend trip recently.
I wondered if my feet and toes were too cramped inside the boot (even though I felt like I had enough room in the toe box and could wiggle my toes inside the boots just fine), and that's what was causing the pain, so I removed the insoles later that night and placed my bare feet on them. I could see that the insoles were the exact size of my feet, and may have even been slightly narrower along the edges of my toes. Since my feet and toes had no room to splay out on the footbed of the boots, this is exactly what was causing my pain. Most of the pain felt like it was in the bones along the bottom of my arch, so I sent these boots back as well.
I then decided to give the size 8, wide width a try based on other reviews I read. This size 8, wide width boot fit much better. At first they were a little snug in length and I wasn't sure if they were long enough, but after wearing them a few hours here and there, they started to feel better and loosen up. But after wearing them a few times around town, the bottoms of my feet started to ache again. And the arches of my feet only seemed to hurt while wearing these boots, or shortly thereafter, so I sent these back as well.
I then decided to try a size 9, narrow. Oh man, these are the perfect size! I do wish I ordered these in the beginning, but then I wouldn't have learned as much as I did. :) For me, ordering a whole size down (1.5 sizes really) in a narrow is the perfect fit. They're snug, but I like this secured feeling much better than swimming in boots that are too loose. In casual tennis shoes, I usually wear a size 10, but in running shoes, I definitely prefer and need a 10.5.
For what it's worth, I do have pretty narrow feet. They are long and skinny, and in all of my shoes, especially running shoes, I always have to cinch them very tight so that I can get them snug enough to not have any heel-slip when I run. If you're in a similar scenario or shoe size as me, do yourself a huge favor and order ~1-1.5 sizes down in the normal or narrow version depending on your foot width in these wonderfully comfortable Bean boots. I'm so happy I finally found the perfect fit!

I originally bought the plain, unlined Bean boot and figured out there needed to be some form of lining due to the cold. These gore-Tex lined boots did the trick. Good feel, warm, and comfortable to wear all day.

These are really nice boots. These are my run errand type boots as they are not warm enough for these Minnesota winters and prolonged exposure but for brief periods outdoors they are perfect. The only complaint I have is that the Thinsulate bootie is not stitched in. It just kind of hangs from the collar. I wear custom insoles so removing them pulls that bootie out. Thats a personal issue but worth noting here.

Bought these for my 17 yr old. He didn't ask for them. He was presently surprised. Has worn a few times. He said they are comfortable. True to size.

Only worn boots a couple times. So far so good. Fit fits; insulation was warm based on local temps; looking forward to years of wear.

I was skeptical that the boot would come off easy with my high instep, but was pleasantly surprised.

I happened upon a holiday pop-up with the Bootmobile in Canton,CT. Everyone working the event was had great customer service skills and helped me with my FIRST pair of Bean Boots ever! I spent the last 13 years in in Florida, so no need for them. These are the PERFECT New England boot and the Gortex liner is the only way to go!

This is my second pair of Bean Boots. I wear them during the hunting season which last 4 months.I walk 5-7 miles a day thru some very heavy cover and I like the light weight and that they are waterproof.

Sizing guide if wrong. New sizing guide says to order your normal shoe size for light & mid weight socks. After trying 3 different sizes for my son we finally ended up with an 8W for him, which is 1.5 sizes smaller than his normal shoe size. Waste of time and money to figure it out. Otherwise it's a great boot!

This was a gift to my son-in-law. Actually, it is his second pair. I think the first pair last about 40 years. That speaks loudly about the durability of this product.

This is my second pair boots. The first pair lasted 32 years. Second pair just as comfortable as the first. It is very hard for me to find a B width boot. Thanks L.L. Bean, I can always count on your products!

I'm waiting for some snow and really cold weather to test these boots out. But I'm reviewing them now anyway because these new boots are replacing my pair of LL Bean boots from 1979!
These new boots seem to have even better workmanship. All the stitching is top notch, and the chain-pattern soles are typical LL Bean quality. The reason I purchased these was to take advantage of the newer insulation now available, and the Gore Tex waterproof liner. I now have boots updated for the 21st century! These boots feel great, and the sizing instructions provided were perfect.
I'm very happy with my purchase, and it was worth the long wait.

Great boot. Had to get EE because the 8 was far too long and you no longer make 1/2 sizes which is unfortunate. The 7 EE which i cannot believe i fit into works but is roomy. I have a very high arch (size 11 if i had normal feet) but this works. Its made well, warm so far! Bring back half sizes! If you areva half size go down one size an go EE. Worked for me.
