Jacket is warm and comfortable. I might have been able to purchase a S instead of M, but I wanted it large enough for heavy layers beneath to work in our coldest temps. It will work well in both cool and very cold outdoor activity. Just one rather odd thing about it... the zipper is 'backwards' from any jacket I've ever had. It's hard to explain but the 'zip mechanism' and placket are opposite. But it works just fine.. And I'm happy with it.

I frequently fly to Europe and was looking for a jacket that is warm enough for cold winters but is light and easily packable in a suitcase or a backback. I tried multiple jackets from other stores but all of them were either to heavy, too bulky, or too tight on my hips (I have wide hips). This is the first jacket that I found that is warm, light, and fits me well.

Lightweight and warm. Best with a mid weight sweatshirt if it's windy. Wore it comfortably in 30 degree weather.

Love the fit of this jacket! It is flattering and lightweight. I am replacing a heavier, bulkier jacket with the LL. Bean one and it is such a welcome change. The maroon zipper is a nice contrast with the spunky mustard yellow. There are two logos, one in the front and another in the back that is concealed by the hood when not in use. I am very pleased with this purchase.

The ultralight is just that - very, very light and super cozy and warm. Purchased it specifically to walk my lab in cold temps with extreme wind chill. Mission accomplished! Love the pockets that zip, which allows me to take phone, puppy training treats and scoop bag securely on our walks. The deep turquoise color is awesome, and I've received raving reviews on the color. Sizing chart is very helpful and I achieved the perfect fit, using it. Just love it!!!

I can't say enough good things about this jacket- it's toasty warm, and the color (deep lagoon) is stunning- I'm constantly receiving compliments when I wear it! So glad that Bean is finally offering colors other than black, navy, and an orange-toned maroon in their 850 down line. Would love to see more beautiful blue and purple (and blue-toned plum) shades, especially in a coat- length hoodless (or detachable hood) 850 ultralight. Please do not add contrasting collars and patches, or large logos to this line, LL Bean- these are timeless classics!

Warm, comfortable, and a nice fit. The bit of contrast trim is a bonus. The only thing I'd add to this jacket is an inside zip pocket.

This petite, lightweight jacket is a perfect fit, allowing room for an additional layer if needed.
