Adds considerable warmth to my core, doesn't restrict movement, looks good. I like the pockets. Sometimes I buy Tall-L but in this the Regular-XL fits just right, falls just below my belt and is comfortably snug without being tight.

I wear it everyday. For weeks now. I did finally have to wash it today a matter of fact. It washed well and fluffed up to original loft (or more). I don't understand why the Emerald green isn't selling. Its perfect with the yellow zippers and highlights.
It's getting towards late spring in my area so I will put it away for the season unless I go camping up north.
Tomorrow will be raining and 50 so I'll be wearing this again, hopefully for a couple more days at least.
It is very comfortable. I wish the collar would lay flatter while I'm wearing it. That is my only complaint. Maybe put snaps to hold it down of make it longer so its weight would tend to hold it down. I dont know, it doesn't bug me too much but it is noticeably (alot).
Again, I love the color combination. (It just so happens 2 B my school colors, Emmaus Green Hornets) but I actually look forward to slipping it on tomorrow when its cooler.

I was passing an outdoorsy couple on a chilly night. We were getting hit with a brief, but fairly heavy snow flurry. My only outer garment was my LLBean down vest.
After a couple of 'how you doing exchanges' (I had never seen these people before) the lady (likely wife) says, 'nice vest. LLBean I see. How do you like it? Great says I. Down or synthetic? Down. Warm, super light. How warm? 850 down. Aren't you afraid of getting it wet says her male companion. No. Gore Tex. Sounds expensive. You get what you pay for. Besides it was on sale.
Well you say. This conversation sounds like baloney. But it was pretty much like I just related.
Bottom line, they were a little jealous for a reason. Me, I was smart enough to invest in my vest.
Nuff said.

I love the vest. It's warm and flexible. I own many LL Bean products and will continue to be my brand of choice for these types of items.

I have an older version of this vest and it has held up extremely well with frequent use. I got a new one in a different color. The neck and zipper have been improved. The neck is now more durable and the zipper has a storm flap. There is still a stow pocket on the inside but it no longer has a zipper on it. I miss the zipper for extra security on stored items. I really like that they both have a chest pocket for my cell phone. Another winner from LL Bean.

I purchased this vest a month ago and have used it mostly as layer under a jacket this winter. The vest is very light and warm. It has held its loft. I have not had any problems with rips or leaking insulation. However I would avoid wearing this vest as an outer garment where it could catch on things like branches .I have the Black Forest Green and prefer the darker green over some other lighter or brighter colors. I recommend this vest if you are looking for a warm and quality mid-layer.

I typically wear a chest size of 46. This Tall XL fits me very well. I purchased the yellow color simply because it was the best sale price and I was looking for a warm mid-layer. The vest puffs very well which means warmth. The length of the tall size is very nice. Both fit and warmth as a mid-layer for me are excellent.

Thanks to another reviewer's comments, I ordered the tall size for my husband who is 6-foot tall. I would not consider his height as tall, but the extra length works great to cover his derrire. Warm and light weight, this vest is perfect layer for winter activities where freedom of movement is desired. Washes well, and he likes the bright yellow chartreuse for stylish visibility.

This vest has met my high expectations for fit and comfort. Waiting for colder weather to really test it but it should not disappoint. Light as a feather and folds up nicely. Not cheap but worth the price!

The vest is just what my husband needed and wanted. I ordered the Tall size for him so it would sit a bit lower and hit below the hip, which it does...perfectly! It's super lightweight, wonderfully warm and provides just the right coverage for him. I'll purchase this item again for my adult children and myself. Highly recommended.

This is a superb piece of equipment. Excellent material, well made, and terrific colors. The vest is very warm but it is not too bulky. Easy to wear under a jacket or just around if it is not too cold.

I got this for my husband who traditionally wears XLT size when I purchase llbean shirts. This vest size XLT was a little snug on him, so we returned for XXLT. Take note.

A stylish lightweight down vest I would recommend you order up one size , I have an older one that fits perfectly with room to spare. The new one is probably almost a full size down. It was a gift and worked out OK

The vest met all expectations with one caveat. The zipper is in backwards. It zips from the opposite side.
