I like the style, but is not as warm as I expected.

I bought the spruce green sweater fleece and as far as wearing it goes, it is soft and warm and one of my favorite pieces of clothing. I've seen many shades of green, and this is a special color. I really like the zip-up pockets, too. If you're expecting a heavy, thick fleece, this isn't that - it's medium weight and nice to have on a chilly evening.
The only thing holding me back from wearing it every day is that garish logo distracting from the lovely color. It may go well on other garments, but not this one.
Complementary color brand-name monogramming would have been better. This Katahdin patch is stitched on so tightly that I am searching for a tailor willing to carefully remove it.
Who advised L.L. Bean that patching on this large, incongruous logo would be a good idea?
Other than that, it's a worthy fleece, and I'll buy more as soon as they make the logo more subtle.

Jacket fits nice and snug, is quite warm. However, how can I remove the LLBean label from the front of the item? I'm opposed to this new trend of having the LLBean label sewn on the front of clothing. Please make this an option, rather than the default.

I wear this jacket for walks in the neighborhood with the dog. The sailcloth color is light enough to be seen at dusk or on a cloudy day. It is warm enough for cool southern temperatures. The drawbacks are about the sleeves. The sleeve pocket is not large enough to be useful. The sleeves, especially with the fleece lining, are too narrow. I can't wear the jacket with a flannel shirt or light sweater - only with a plain knit t-shirt or turtle. Also, the pocket lining fabric seems delicate; hopefully, the pockets will hold up. Happy with the jacket, but not thrilled.

This jacket is a hefty fabric that feels like recycled water bottles. It's soft on the inside but the outside feels a bit like plastic, stiff and not stretchy. I bought two of them because I needed to replace the old Fitness Fleece I have worn out. Please bring back those old Fitness Fleece jackets!

Great color..Nice fit..Quality product. EXCEPT for the bright LLBean label prominently positioned on the left front chest level. I don't care to sport logos on my clothes...unless Bean wants to pay me for advertising services. If I can't remove the label without damaging the jacket this one is going back. Why not a more tasteful embroidered logo in an analogous color at hip level?

I purchased the dark green color which is beautiful a true hunter green . The zip down is true to size, I purchased a medium, I'm 5'2 154lbs.
The quality is very good and the sweater is warm but more suited as a Spring sweater in my opinion. The cold wind goes right through and even if you wear a long sleeve shirt you might still feel a chill. I love the LL Bean logo, for me it looks great just were it is. I will definitely purchase another in a lighter color.

The sweater fleece is warmer than regular fleece jackets. Would have given it 5 stars except I do not like that LL Bean puts name on outside of jacket. Takes about 10 to 15 minutes to carefully remove the LL Bean logo.

I loved the jacket but it was actually too tight (slim cut) for a shorter person. I sent back for a larger size and am awaiting new item. I will most certainly continue to shop LL Bean as the selection, prices and ease of shopping is top notch

I love these jackets (even with the patch!) but the coarse (yet soft) weave of the exterior traps dog fur, which sticks straight out due to static and is all the more noticeable. This also makes it difficult to lint roll the fur off because the fur is literally trapped. My solution is to have one light-colored "house" jacket that doesn't leave the house nor is worn in front of company or when I'm cooking. The rest of the jackets I wear to work and take off when I get home. I own 4 of these now so they are worth the extra efffort!

My son had one of these sweater fleeces and I always wanted one, and I am pleased with my purchase. I am 5'9" and got an extra large, because I don't like things tight or short, and this is a nice length. It fits nicely, looks nice, is warm, and is long enough for coverage. I agree with many previous buyers that the added label on the front is undesirable and makes it more casual, so my husband cut it out with some precision scissors. My four stars is because I didn't like having to take that risk, and there was a slightly lighter colored area on the fabric under where the tag was. I notice it, but no one else will. I love llbean and support them in many ways, but I don't like obvious advertising on my clothes.

I bought the blue sweater jacket first, and have since bought the stone color as well. Very warm and nice. The neck is a bit uncomfortable if zipped up to the top, but I should add that the zipper works easily and well.

This is a marvelously warm, soft, and comfy jacket. I bought it large because I wanted a lot of room. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it is a little tricky to get the zipper started. I have to stop, find some light, and fiddle a bit to get the zipper going. Once it's started, the zipper is fine.

Nice jacket especially for the sale price. Comfortable, warm, love the zip pockets. My only complaint is the ugly LLBean label. I will no longer buy LLBean products with a prominent label. Looks cheesy and dated - no one wants to be a billboard anymore - especially my husband and teenagers. LLBean has lost their business because of this. Luckily, I saw another reviewer who said the label was easy to remove so I got out my stitch cutter and they were right! Like my classy jacket now and am happy to tell folks where I got it if they ask :)

I ordered the full zip model in spruce. While the color was pretty, I did not like the marled material with the dark flecks. Reminded me of an old, dirty sweatshirt. Also did not like the LL Bean logo on the front. These are totally personal preferences. The fit was fine and workmanship looked good. I prefer the old fashioned tight pile plain colored fleece.

I love this sweater fleece with 2 exceptions. I had to pay to have the sleeves shortened. I'm not sure why manufacturers think that if a woman wears a plus size that she has arms like an orangutan. It's not just LL Bean but most manufacturers make the arms way too long. The other problem is that the zipper shrunk a little making the front pucker. I laundered it exactly like the instructions. I'm not sure I would buy this item again unless it was on sale to compensate for having to pay for alterations.

This is a beautiful jacket, very warm and comfortable. The medium was a little snug so I returned it for a large. The only criticism I have of it is that it is difficult to get the arms on over a long sleeve shirt. The material wants to cling.

Love this jacket. I practically live in it. I'm always cold. It looks great over a turtleneck and keeps me warm under my winter jacket.
My only issue is the description indicates that it's "slightly" fitted, however it's pretty roomy through the hips. Maybe I should have ordered a small, but the medium fits me well through the shoulders and sleeves.

I love this jacket! I purchased one, then another and I may go for a third. Warm, comfortable and nice to wear under my winter jacket when I talk my daily walk. Washes great. I agree with the others that the logo/tag on the front of the jacket detracts from the jacket's great look.

I'll have to share first impressions of the sweater here since I've only worn it a handful of times and haven't washed it yet. I really like the feel and look of it for an activewear top. It's a step above many activewear fleece tops I have or have had in terms of appearance, as it looks a bit more like a classic sweater. It seems there is a lot of debate surrounding the label- I'll say it's appropriately aligned with the times as it looks just like a Patagonia label, which is huge out here on the West Coast. I have a fleece vest I bought from LL Bean last year and the colors on the label were a more neutral tone, which I preferred, but the label is attractive enough now that it doesn't bother me. For those who hate labels, there should be an easy way to remove it if there isn't already, and instructions on how to do so (seam ripper, anyone?)
Here is what I like and dislike about the sweater: Pros: Soft interior with a more durable exterior (as compared to other fleece sweaters), nice fit, excellent color (the green near to neutral and beautiful, and the color pairs excellently with my fair olive complexion, dark brown hair, and blue-grey eyes), and great price point. Cons: the pockets, while a nice size, add far too much bulk around the stomach area and make the sweater look sloppy in that area. This along with the excessive amount of fabric around this area (would work great for very large hips or butts, but my hips at 10" wider than my waist don't come close to filling the space) make my stomach look "padded" in an unattractive way. I very very much dislike the drop hem in the back. This isn't the kind of item that is meant to look that way (drop hems are for cheap sweaters and flannels- I think of fast fashion brands or plus size apparel for this kind of thing) and it doesn't drop enough to achieve anything on my 5'9 figure. Maybe it covers a bum on a person 5'2 or shorter? I really don't see the point as it is not an attractive style, at all, it's meant for a function it does not achieve. But, I do have to say, the way the drop hem is executed is much nicer than many others I've seen, as it's gently sloping and not abrupt or exaggerated. Drop hems are a passing trend and I see LL Bean as a heritage company, so it doesn't make sense to me that they'd make something with that trend. I want something as timeless as possible from LLB, so when I see a photo of myself I don't think "Yuck, look at that dated trend!" But like I said, the drop hem isn't extreme so I'll give it a pass, but I wouldn't knowingly buy anything else with a drop hem again, so I hope LLB does away with this design (it'll be out of fashion soon anyway).
Ultimately I like the sweater a lot since the pros outweight the cons for me, but I was on the edge of sending it back because of the pocket/extra fabric issue and drop hem. It looks a lot better than many similar items I've tried on and I just adore the color and the price is right- and I think it'll last a good while so it's worth it.
For size reference, I'm 5'9, 150lb, 34b bust, 29 waist, 39 hip and usually wear a medium or large in woman's tops (large from trendy youth centric companies like banana republic, j crew, patagonia; medium from ll bean and other more "adult" companies) and ordered a medium in this top and it fit perfectly.

I ordered petite L because I'm 5'4" and find that regular sizes are too long in the body and arms. This jacket is styled a bit longer in the body than other fleeces I've ordered from LLBean. The sapphire blue is a beautiful color. I'm hoping that the knitted sweater outside does not pill.
I do not like to walk around with a prominent label, and this one is very colorful and noticeable. Luckily, I was able to remove it easily.

The knitted fabric was a surprise. This jacket is very attractive but not as warm as I was expecting. I haven't washed it yet. I wear it frequently.

I am a Petite Small. That size fits me best. The navy color wasn't perfect; would have preferred a darker solid. I also wanted it in black but it's not available I was told. Too bad. I was looking forward to a 2nd one. Good warmth for Fall. I would like to receive the L.L. Bean catalogue at my home address.
