Wanted to like this, but.....
The sleeves are tight, and actually difficult to pull on. The nature of the sleeve inside is such that there is a lot of friction when trying to pull it on. I have a thin frame, so it has nothing to do with fat or muscular arms.
Also the exterior of the jacket is kind of a hard finish, not what I expected in a fleece.
Last, I hate the garish Bean label on the upper right of garment. This is a pet peeve -- all manufacturers attach one of these things, but this one is louder than most. Other things being equal, I could've lived with that.
Whatever,

Pros: GREAT quality. Several well designed pockets. Fitted cut that is still quite roomy if you've got a few extra avoirdupois. Cons: Sleeves cut way to narrow. Don't plan on wearing more than a think shirt under this if you want to get your arms in. Collar doesn't like to stay turned down. Way too expensive. The heart wants what the heart wants. But would likely not buy again.

Got this about 3 months ago and the fleece already has a nappy look, picked look to it. This is with light wear in an office environment. More like a sweater than a fleece in my opinion. Seems to easily catch/attract everything. Collar repeatedly turns up on the ends.

I bought this fleece sweater jacket to replace an older one and because we've been so happy with LL Bean products over the years. And this is another good product. I use it for wearing around the house because I'm seemingly always cold. And it serves its purpose very nicely. *If I have one gripe it's that the sleeves are open/loose and do not have a tight elastic band in them. So, when I pull them up to get them out of the way while cooking or washing my hands, they quickly fall back down. The collar staying up takes a little getting used to and depending on how you wear your hair it might be a bit annoying.

Quality is the best. I have bought 9 of these jackets so far, 7 for gifts. Love them.

I bought this same jacket a year ago except in a different color. The jacket I bought recently is significantly smaller than the one I bought last year with a tighter fit compared to a more relaxed fit the year before. Be sure you try it on before you decide to keep it.

I loved this jacket in the women's so I bought my husband one in dark grey. Unfortunately, it pilled really badly after the first wash. Very disappointing. It is very warm, though

I'm not a fan of the outer material. Wrong size so I returned it. Also prefer a quarter zip pullover instead of full zip.

beautiful Wish that size large was a bit more generous. but an XL would have been way too large.

The wearer cannot fold the collar down. It keeps popping back up. After a while this is irritating.

Great looking, but after three times wearing it, the arm is pilling! I guess it's poor quality for big bucks.

LL Bean sweater Fleece fitted tight I normally wear xl in everything, but had to go to xxl for my sweater fleece . I had it given to me as a gift and I love the style and comfort! When I exchanged it through the mail, I asked for blue but was sent gray. I still like it, just wishing I had received the right color.

I have a Bean fleece jacket that I love that I've had for several years. If it were still being made, I'd buy another in a heartbeat. This one looked to be as close as I could get to it with pocketing and its weight. I received one this last Chrismas, and was glad to get it. However, the fit is nowhere close to the other jacket I have. A large is too big and a medium is too tight, because of where the item is made snug and where it's long or short. I would keep it if I could find one that fit. It's another of several examples of where Bean has not left well enough alone... you go back to find an item you love, and they've changed it or it's been deleted.

It is typical import by LL Bean.......Not the "Old LL Bean Quality" .....warm and comfortable in the upper 20's/ lower 30's, but not below that temperature. Can not zip or unzip while wearing gloves. The attachment to the zipper is ridiculously small. Need to enlarge the zipper attachment.

Very disappointed in this garment. The fabric looks worn, the seams are not well finished and the seams are poorly done. I have one other fleece made in the same country. It is the newest one I had and of the seven I own, it looks the oldest. I've washed four times and the there are loose threads hanging in the seams. Since you do not say where the garments are made I will buy jackets where I can see the country of origin.

I like this fleece and will likely keep it, but it has some issues and therefore I give it three starts and I am hesitant to recommend it. It runs big and for some reason it does not have a drawstring at the waist. This seems like a big oversight for a winter fleece. Also another review mentioned that there is no elastic at the wrists, which is not a huge deal, but it is noticeable. I think LL Bean needs to make some revisions and then this will be a really nice fleece. At this point, it seems like a test run.

Loved the jacket, but the sleeves hang over most of my hand. Some elastic in the cuffs would have remedied this, like an older Bean fleece jacket that I have. Loved the Eucalyptus color. Get rid of the cartoonish name tag looking logo on the front of the jacket. It takes away from an otherwise great looking jacket. Sadly, I'm returning it.

Warm jacket but sleeves cling to shirt sleeves and require pulling down the end of the sleeve on the jacket to wear. Material is not the fleecy type and a bit rough to the touch. The zippers on the hand pockets are bothersome but inside of pocket is soft. Collar does not lie down and sticks up to chafe your neck. Having to constantly push collar down. Overall, seems to be ill-fitted and uncomfortable but appears to be very durable. This is not the soft fleece commonly seen in this type jacket.Would benefit by having elastic band at the end of sleeves.

I was looking for another polar fleece jacket, but couldn't find the style I had bought for years. I tried this "sweater fleece" but it is nothing like the traditional LL Bean polar fleece. The fabric was a little rough, not soft like traditional polar fleece. The fit was right, but the fabric is disappointing. Quality could be better. Another substitution of lesser quality to replace an old favorite that LL Bean has discontinued.

Overall it's a wonderful fleece however the sleeves are disproportionately too long and do not have any sort of banding at the end.

This sweater does not keep my arms warm when the weather gets into the 40sF, which is a huge disappointment. The navy looks great on this female's body! I wear it with jeans mostly, as intended. Periodically, the zipper gets stuck at the point where the collar meets the body of the sweater. Have to get a neighbor to help me get out of the sweater over my head because I am afraid I will cause the sweater weave part (not the fleece part) to get caught in the zipper and ruin the exterior fabric; bummer.

to replace an old and pliable wonderful fleece jacket, this doesn't quite make it -- the edges of the jacket make it stiff so it is a bit hard to turn up the cuffs, zip up, and above all, prevent the collar from lying flat. If I do force it to lie flat like a normal spread collar, it doesn't stay, and the edge is darker than the fleece, making it look like an Alpine style antique.
