Great shirt. Got it for Christmas and have worn it several times since then. Only complaint: The "Traditional Fit" label in the neck of shirt chafes my neck.

Warm, soft, nice looking shirt. Winters in MN I tend to live in flannel and this is an outstanding addition to the collection. When I roll up the sleeves, they seem to fit a little more snug on my arms than some of the other LL Bean shirts I have, but nothing that is a problem.
Overall very happy and would get more of these.

Bought this for my husband for Christmas. Fits great and super soft. Fits true to size alone or with a layer underneath. Also puppy approved. Perfect spot for our new lab to nap on the chest. Will be purchasing again.

I have 4 of these flannels shirts hanging in the closet. I bought the grey stewart. My wife is not really a flannel shirt person, but when she saw this one, she commented on nice it looked. A co-worker in the office commented on how nice it looked. The colors are crisp. The shirt irons nicely. Holds its shape after washing. The only negative is the size. I bought a medium just like all the others I have hanging in the closet. The sleeves on this one are 4" longer. I'm afraid a small would be too small. So I kept the shirt. The sleeves do bunch up a little. Maybe next year's batch of mediums will be different.

I was instantly attracted to the colors of the shirt that I purchased, but after wearing it very frequently I now know why it has such high reviews! This is hands down the best flannel shirt I've worn. It is extremely soft, sturdy, and hasn't pilled yet. Did I mention the color is fabulous? I'm a woman wearing a man's shirt....the pattern is awesome!

Comfortable & warm, tasteful pattern & colors, fits well. And, of course, delivered on time. Expect to use for many years.

I'm 5'11 1/2"/ 195lbs/ 34"x32" waist/ average build and I wear a M traditional fit. I usually where a L in other brands. I find L.L. Bean has a roomy traditional fit accommodating the average guy. Great quality and classic style, I own three.

Bought three traditional fits and am pleased with the quality. The fit is just a hair roomier than I'd like but I'd rather it be too big than too small. I'm 5'11 1/2"/ 195lbs/ 34"x32" waist/ average build. I wear a M traditional fit in L.L. Bean clothing which I find fits like a L in most other brands. I suppose it's to appeal to our vain side ;)

I have owned these shirts since the early 90's. My oldest one (old style Lindsay plaid) still looks amazing. I love getting one of these every few years to add to my stock.
These shirts fit well if you get the correct size. They are cut a bit full, however, LLBean now offers a "Slightly Fitted" version of some of the shirts. They are very durable, very warm, and the style continues to be a classic.
I recommend these for anyone wanting a great, classic shirt for the winter!

When I first looked at the shirt on line, I thought the colors looked a little pale and washed out, but I had a coupon and figured I'd give it a try- I was so pleasantly surprised when the shirt arrived. The flannel is a soft, light weight, but the color is a true Black Watch plaid with a rich, dark navy and green. The fit is exactly as described, the medium worked for me At 5' 9" and a 35" waist...I think if you start going beyond a 36" waist, it may be tight about the bottom so you might consider the Large, (but then you'd have to be careful of the sleeve length being too long). This is a casual shirt, but with the right pants and shoes, you can very easily dress it up. I am very pleased with this purchase.

I bought this for my husband in the MacLeod color and it is beautiful. The colors are very bright and rich.
The shirt is flannel but not cheap and thin.
It's a nice thickness and the fabric looks quality.
My husband really likes it.

This is a replacement shirt for my son - he's worn out the one I purchased for him as a Christmas present a couple of years ago. He's on the road (drives long haul) and uses commercial washers and dryers and it still looks brand new. He wears a large and it's a perfect fit.

This could be a contender for the best shirt ever made. It fits so, well, it is warm, comfortable, sharp looking, and very high quality. After a few washes so far it looks as good as new. No pilling or anything like flannel sometimes can do. I am 6'2 190 and the large tall is a good fit. I probably could have gone with the large but I prefer my shirts a bit longer over too short. I will certainly be ordering one or two more of these shirts in different colors.

I ordered two of these shirts for Christmas gifts for two different men. Both loved the shirts and both want more! They were true to size and fit perfect. I ordered the grey flannel and it is beautiful and the material is very soft. It is a very classy looking shirt to be flannel. I would recommend this shirt to anyone.

I now have most of these Scotch Flannel shirts. I started witn two and added a few more over the next few months. The reason is simple, I love wearing them on the weekends. Not too warm or too thin, just right! Soon after purchasing them, my senior high school son starting wearing them to school This is the reason why I quickly added to my collection. He now wants to take them to college next year. Enough said:)

This is a great flannel. It is well made and durable. It is the softest and warmest unlined flannel shirt I own. A critical part of my winter wardrobe.

I ordered this shirt for my husband and he loved it. A true wardrobe staple!! I also ordered it for myself (a female) in TALL so I could wear it with leggings. I am a size Large in misses so I ordered a men's MEDIUM TALL. The length is perfect to cover my rear and front in leggings. Looks great with your favorite skinny jeans/leggings, tall boots, and a chunky scarf. LOVE this item.

First of all: wow. This is the definition of flannel. It's ridiculously warm and incredibly comfortable. The traditional fit is a little roomy, though. I'm about 5'9", 175lbs, and the medium was pretty big. I didn't want to go through the hassle of exchanging it, so I washed it in hot water and dried it for about 45 minutes, and it shrunk quite a bit. So if you end up with a size that's a little roomy, try my approach. Overall, though, this flannel is amazing. I live in Memphis, but spend the majority of the fall/winter in Arkansas on the Little Red and White Rivers. This flannel is a perfect midlayer, or even by itself on warmer fall days.

Been buying these for my husband for several years now! So glad they added a new plaid color! Some are 5 years old and still look great...no fading! Great quality!

I bought this for my brother as a gift and it's absolutely beautiful.
I love the Prince Edward red color flannel.
It's soft and the colors are vibrant and rich.
Can't wait to see how he likes it!

I've been off of flannels for awhile , because usually the day you buy it is the best it will ever look. Not so with this shirt. Last year I was tempted by the scotch plaid in Grey Stewart. I'm glad I got it. It still looks good a year later. I'm happy that the weather is getting cooler so that I can dig it out of the closet.

these are awesome. so soft, totally warm & comfy, and great-looking (FAR more vividly colorful than the website pictures). just a pleasure to own & wear.
good people of l.l. bean, please insure that these continue to be made Just as they're being made now - they're perfect. thanks.
for reference, i'm joe blow, the average man: 5' 10", and depending on which season of the year it is (fatter in the fall/winter), between 165 & 175 lbs, and the Large fits me perfectly after washing: sleeve cuffs hang around wrist area so as to provide complete coverage when reaching forward or up, and so as to not be in the way when working w/my hands, and hem hangs so as to be long enough to be tucked securely, or worn un-tucked without appearing to hang too low; a totally acceptable casual look. again, perfect.
now, a problem: there's a plaid pattern suddenly missing from this year's offerings. i can't for the life of me remember its name, but it's a fundamental, classic color scheme, as basic and necessary as the Prince Charles of Edward & Navy Tartan.
its base color is black, with (if i remember correctly), accents of red, yellow, and possibly green and/or blue. very specific, i know, but i'm sure that those concerned know which one i mean. it was there last year, but isn't here now. bean, Please bring back this classic. it's a moral obligation! bring 'em back for just one year - i'll stock up for a lifetime!
thanks.

You cannot beat this shirt in traditional fit! After all these years this quality flannel shirt simply gets better with age. I look forward to wearing it when winter finally arrives each year. You can work or play in it because it's rugged, well made, and looks good. The comfort is unmatched by all the others. It's worth the money to wear the best!
