I purchased this shirt along with a couple Wicked Good Flannel Shirts which are far superior. This Scotch Plaid Flannel shirt fabric feels much rougher than than the Wicked Good, needs ironing which the Wicked Good does not and buttons started falling of this flannel shirt on first wash. Spend a little more for the Wicked Good and will be rewarded. Would not recommend or purchase again.

I don't understand LL Bean's sizing. Literally every brand in the world's medium fits me perfectly. I'm a very averagely built guy. But these shirts are giant sacks of fabric.

LINT, WHOLLY BALLS OF LINT! For what it's worth, this material absolutely falls apart in the washer and dryer, LINT BOMB IN THE HOLE, BOOM! I'm not an expert on flannel but no way would I buy another one of these shirts, what a mess.

The grey is a great pattern, however; I returned it because after washing it is no longer soft even using fabric softener and the pocket is sloppy looking. For the price it is not worth it. Maybe a double flap pocket shirt in this pattern would be nicer and a brushed cotton for softness. At a cheaper price I would have kept the shirt due to this one pattern.

I purchased three Scotch plaid flannels in December 2018. All were made in El Salvador. Fit
was comfortable as I like it a little loose and feel was good. However, after being worn a few times each, gently washed and not ironed, they all pilled and faded. I was disappointed as I have purchased numerous items at L. L. over the years and been very satisfied.

This Flannel ended looking nothing like the photo. The colors completely dull and could hardly there was blue or green. It looked also like a dark gray throughout the entire flannel. Even the neck tag in the photo was different. Also this size was extremely huge on me and I think I need to order a slimmer size that is also not the Tall variety. I did good it 2 stars though because it is warm and soft. I double checked the tag just to make sure this was the right item and it was. Would not recommend and will be returning.

This shirt will not keep you warm in the autumn or winter.

Shirts (2) were too small and overall poorly made. Collars are small and unattractive. Cloth was too thin for winter flannel.

I have been ordering flannel shirts in Large Regular for my husband for years and they have always fit perfectly. Wash after wash, they still fit and hold up well. This shirt was a Large and was too large in the body and the sleeves were way too long. Disappointed because we both liked the plaid but the shirt material wasn't up to par either.

This shirt was larger than I expected, since I had purchased several of a similar series several years ago also marked as large which fit well. Overall the shirt was too baggy, and in particular had sleeves to long; halfway down my hands.

The shown item I ordered TA 228061 is true to my size and I liked the color too. Unfortunately, The next item HM228061 sent to me is tighter (somewhat small) and shorter than the previous one (about 1" to 2"). I didn't realize that after the first wash!. How can I return it when I've already tried on, I thought.
This is such a bad experience with L.L.Bean. I'll think more carefully in the future in case I still want to shop anything with you.

My husband has had at least 2 LL Bean Scotch Plaid flannel shirts in his wardrobe for as long as I can remember. We have been married 44 years. I'm sad to say that the two he has owned for a number of years may be his last. I ordered a new one in Grey Stewart (L-Regular) for his Christmas present. All of his other shirts are L-Regular, bur this one was too big and I exchanged it for a M-Regular. The replacement arrived in an LL Bean green shipping bag. Straight out of the bag it looked like someone had wadded it up and thrown it in the truck. I thought I could fix that with a quick wash and threw it in the machine with his other two LL Bean shirts. His older shirts came out of the dryer ready to be hung up and worn. His new one looked worse! I thought about ironing it but then I noticed that the pleat in the back wasn't centered. I'm returning this shirt. LL Bean quality is not what it used to be!

I had purchased a Black Stewart flannel shirt for my husband for Christmas, and it was terrific, so I got a Grey Stewart for his birthday in January. I washed and dried the Black Stewart and Grey Stewart at the same time. The Black Stewart came out of the dryer perfectly with no wrinkles, but the Grey Stewart came out wrinkled and with a weird wavy pattern in the fabric, as though parts of it had shrunk a bit and other parts had not. The fabric of the Grey Stewart is also not as thick. We were so disappointed, we sent it back. The quality of the shirt seems to depend on which pattern one gets.

I have owned several of these flannel shirts over the years, but the one I bought in 2019 is not nearly as nice as the one from a couple of years ago. The fabric is thinner, more prone to wrinkling, and is starting to pill after two or three washes. Is LLBean quality slipping?

I like the texture of the older flannel shirts better. After wearing twice one cuff button fell off and another button in front came loose. Will see what happens next.

I ordered 2 slightly fit flannel shirts at the same time, two different tartans.
One arrived, and it was a traditional fit.
A week later the other arrived and it too was a traditional fit. Not what I had ordered. I washed them and kept them but not what I ordered!
Colors were darker than shown in the photos online.
Roll of the button down collar was not quite right.

Purchased this same shirt about 10 years ago. I loved the shirt , but got paint on it. The shirt is still very durable. I decided to get a new one to replace it. I was very disappointed. The new one doesn't feel the same. It's not as soft and it stays wrinkled. I wash them the same. The older one feels and looks great except for the paint. The new one feels and looks terrible!!

I've always ordered medium tall shirts and the medium always seemed to fit my 15" neck without being loose looking. Ordered these at Christmas and I am disappointed as the neck is at least 16". These are a sloppy fit.

As always, I prewashed the two flannel shirts that my husband received as gifts. The Black Watch plaid left a lot of lint in the washing machine (first time I have had that happen) and dryer, and on other clothes items as well. Had to pick off more bits of lint when I was ironing it. Both this shirt and other shirt have a different feel to the flannel than other Bean shirts that he owns like this. It's a softer flannel and not as easy to iron. I compared the "old" with the new and was shocked to see that the sleeves are a whole cuff-length longer, and about the same extra length to the whole shirt. Not your usual quality. Would not order again.

I have purchased many shirts from LLBean over the years and have always been a XL. While I have gotten many compliments on this shirt, it seems wrongly sized. The sleeves are excessively long and it is a bit larger in the chest than I expected. I own at least four sunwashed canvas shirts in XL and they fit me perfectly. In hindsight, I should have orderd this shirt one size smaller than I normally order. It did not shrink up in the wash as I had hoped it would. It seems like it was cut for a Big/Tall. I would recommend this to a friend with the caveat that they order a size smaller than what they normally wear.

This xl shirt was nowhere near "true to size." It was for a gift, and I was embarrassed when the only use we could find for it was to make a tent from the material. Had to spend an extra $6.50 to return the shirt which could easily have been avoided if LLBean had only advised me.

I love the roomy fit and button-down collar on this style, but the flannel started to look shaggy and pill after only a few washings. Strictly an around-the-house shirt now.

Material and quality of shirt is excellent but sizing was hard to get right for me. I ordered a XL tall which fit good but the sleeves were too short. I then paid to ship it back and ordered an XXL tall. The sleeves fit ok now but the shirt is huge, long and fits like a dress. I paid to ship it back for a refund. If you are tall I recommend trying on in store if that's an option for you. I've had problems with sizing here before and there's no stores in my area so I don't plan on shopping at LL bean anymore.

The material was great but it fit like a shapeless tent. As you can see I am not a small person. Fit in the chest & arms. Bottom part looked like a Hawaiian Muumuu. Just get tired of paying for returns.
Normally take 2xl

Purchased your best flannel shirt several months ago and it washes up well and looks great. This particular shirt, a grade lower is nor nearly as good. Recommend purchasing your top tier flannel, as for I will in future
