I've been buying these shirts for many years and they always fit. A couple of years ago, you started making the sleeves longer so they don't fit. I tried ordering small instead of medium, but the sleeves are still too long. I returned the shirts and got a full refund except for $6.95 for shipping.

The sizing has changed on LLBean's men's flannel shirt. My husband owns quite a few of these shirts and has always worn a Large. I recently bought 3 shirts in Large, all of which were too big, especially with the sleeves being way too long. I had to return them and exchange for Medium.

I purchased two of these shirts and the fit is as expected. They are very comfortable and the quality of tailoring is excellent. However, I will not purchase them again and cannot recommend them to anyone who expects them to look wearable right out of the dryer. They look terrible without ironing and as a result they just hang in may closet. I expected wash and wear. Who expects to iron a flannel shirt?

Shirts from Vietnam are oversized in sleeve and body.

Love the color and pattern. But the size is off. I buy a lot of flannel shirts size XL from other companies. They fit perfect. This XL is more like an XXL.

Have owned these flannel shirts for more than a decade. I am not certain, but have the impression that the new shirts just purchased have a looser weaver, fewer threads per inch, or less robust tread. I am not sure the new ones will hold up to frequent use and washing like my older ones. It is impossible to discern a change to the construction from the product description on the L.L. Bean website. The addition of some specifications to the materials would be helpful and avoid disappointment when the product arrives. If you are lowering your standards of a product, let the consumer know it.

For it being a tall shirt, it is a bit short compared to my many other LLBEAN tall shirts.

I ordered three of these shirts, each in a different pattern. After reviewing numerous online reviews discussing sizing and fit, I chose "L Reg - Slightly Fitted" in favor of a less baggy look. The Rob Roy Tartan shirt fits perfectly after a hot wash and hot dry. Unfortunately, the other two shirts (MacBeth Old Colours and Light Gold) were excessively baggy all the way around - as if they'd been tailored for a walrus. Sizing issues aside, I am fully satisfied with the quality and feel of the one shirt that fit correctly. I dinged this product two stars in my rating solely due to the aggravation of having to return two of the shirts and try again with a smaller size.

Spend the extra ten bucks for the "Wicked Good" shirt....softer flannel, better drape and fit all around, really a good value. I have a much older version of the Scotch Plaid which is in better shape than the present edition. The new one also shrunk a bit in length and needs some light ironing.

The shirt was missing a button. I expect when I pay full price that the article will be in tact.

L. L. Bean seems to have joined with other shirt makers who outsource the production of their products to countries that just can't seem to get American sizes nailed down. The biggest problem with the two shirts I ordered is the arm length. Just way too long. What I fail to understand is why American companies can't, at least, send out patterns for making their products, and provide some sort of quality control. The image I've included doesn't show just how bad it is when resting at my side - just didn't have someone else to help with the photo.

I have been buying for years - Quality is not there. Shirt tail too short, cufs too shorts.
But the major problems is after washing it tourns out wrinkled. Wife hates it. Enough said.
It doesn't also seem to be a thick as before. You can do better.

The Medium fits very comfortably. The shirt does need to be ironed, otherwise I'd buy another.

I purchased two flannel shirts for Christmas. Completely happy with one as it maintained its size and didn't pill. The second shirt shrank with noticeable pilling. I like LL Bean's flannel shirts but this latest purchase and previous purchases have been hit or miss with same issues.

My husband has worn the flannel shirts for years and they have washed well. This shirt just a couple of months old does not seem to be the quality of the rest he has. It has pills all over it. Sad.

It fit fine when I got it. I read and followed washing instructions and it shrunk. Very disappointing.

Colors turned out to be more drab than those pictured; the fabric weight was fairly underwhelming; made in Indonesia. At $49, this item fairly significantly overpriced given the quality.

This flannel shirt fit as expected and the material is soft and fairly warm but it was not as thick as I was expecting. It also requires an iron now and then.

very often my long sleeve button-down shirts get holes in the elbows. my family makes fun of me! i have no idea why it happens, but I was a bit disappointed that it happened to my LL Bean flannel shirt, which is only about 2 years old, and pretty much my favorite shirt. given Beans typical quality, and the (not exactly cheap) price....I was hopeful it would last longer than that. My other one (same style but a couple of years older) suffered the same fate.

The colors of the actual shirt were darker than those shown in the internet and print ads. I was disappointed that the colors were not bright and almost returned the item. I do like Bean's flannel shirts.

I have 4 LL Bean tartan flannel shirts, of which 2 are 5 and 6 years old. These two have held there colors well and have not shrunk (washed in cold water). However, the one purchased about a year ago (Hunting Fraser tartan) has noticably faded (washed in cold water), and the other (Old Smith tartan) purchased 1.5 months ago came with sleeves 1 inch longer that the other shirts. This suggests a recent quality control issue at Bean's.
Also, design-wise, why continue making these shirts with button-down collar's, especially when the little shinkage that occurs over time pulls the collars out of shape due to the buttons?
