Even after tightening the laces, the shoe itself does not grip well. The overall feeling is very meh.

The sizing was substantially off - the shoe was extremely loose in length, a classic source of blistering as the shoe slips up and down on the heel. It was also pinching in the right shoe just behind the little toe, not from being too tight but from a misformed portion of the upper. And in general the Gel-Venture 5 was the last shoe that I have really enjoyed. That shoe was a great combination of lightness, support, and comfort. To my taste, a trail runner should not be over-padded and cushioned, that just makes a turned ankle more likely. A light and firm support is much more useful off-road. I wish I had recognized that Asics would not maintain the excellent qualities of the Gel-Venture 5, I would have bought six pairs instead of only three!

Not what I expected from the Gel-ventures, have worn them for years, last pair a Gel venture 6. ASICS changed the toe box, not nearly as generous. They suggested to get a wider width, which would not work because that makes the heel wider too. So disappointed, I hope they change them back and leave the sole of the shoe the way it is.

The quality decreases every year and we have to replace them every month.

Very uncomfortable on ball of foot area. Not enough cushioning. But is a nice sneaker

It totally different from what picture shows, when you see the picture it looks great, but it's totally cheap make shoes and hopefully will last few months

After trying out Asics' latest Gel-Venture release, I was left feeling disappointed. Despite being a fan of the Gel-Venture 7's, these shoes fell short of my expectations. The plastic material used in the construction felt cheap and the sizing was off - I typically wear a 10 1/2 in Asics, but these shoes ran large and felt like they would fit an 11 foot. Additionally, the shoe's shape was odd and reminiscent of cheap 90's/early 00's footwear. As someone who has owned and enjoyed multiple pairs of Asics shoes in the past, I was surprised and let down by this purchase. I will definitely be double-checking reviews before making another Asics purchase in the future.

I have been wearing Gel Ventures since the Gel Venture 3 and have always felt comfortable in them. I got my Gel Venture 8's and they were extremely tight and cramped my toes. I checked the size and they were the 12 Wides that I always wear. Perhaps these were a defect but I wont wear these again. Was able to find some remaining Gel Venture 7's and have stocked up !

The shoes are nice, but I have high arches and they don't help support my feet

Long time customer, but Asics now seems to be on giant cost cutting binge combined with new yet substandard styles. My last pair
