Just got these 11-28-20. My first ever trail shoe, have always worn boots, and I love them. Straight out of the box to the trail & a brisk paced 6 miles in Southern Indiana hills & my feet felt great. Great grip on the trail, rock plate works well, & my toes never hurt like they have in a few of my boots. Heel & mid foot felt secure & toes felt like they had plenty of room. Looking forward to putting many more miles on these bad boys.

Overweight 49 year old guy (6'/240) w/bad knees and hip. Used straight out of the box 5-7 days a week for a 2-5 mile hikes on mixed trail packed/loose both wet/dry and they have been great! Went true to size (11.5) and the fit is just right. Was afraid they were going to be to "stiff" based on other reviews but they are the perfect blend of support and flexibility for me. The cushion is also just right. First time wearing Topo and will definitely be a future customer based on these.

Picked these up for a quick thru of the Colorado Trail, and they performed amazingly for me! I've gone through Altras, Hokas, Obos, and my previous favorites being Brooks Cascadias, but these take the cake. After being lukewarm on my Mtn Racers these have been and improvement in almost every way; the zipfoam is way more responsive and felt great during a few break in runs, and has held up great after 500+ miles, the outer material is breathable but very durable, no signs of rips in the forefoot where I typically get them in other shoes, and the rock plate is a welcome upgrade on to the Racers. Finally the tread on the vibram soles still somehow have tread on them somehow! With a fresh pair of insoles I think I can get another 100 miles or so out of these things, but I'm definitely picking up another pair when it comes time to retire these

I was a big fan of terraventure 2. But the terraventure 3 is amazing. As a disabled hiker I have had multiple brain surgeries, multiple spine fusions and refusions, to many knee operations. Topo has changed my life. I am doing more that I have in years from road walking to hiking. My feet feel good these really help my knees, back and whole spine. I always tell people if Altra and hoka one one had a baby topo is it. Great upgrade. Thanks as always topo.

This is my 7th pair of Topos (5 road and 2 trail). My previous trail shoe was the Mountain Racer 2. Loved that shoe! Raced it from 10M to 100k. This feels like the MR2 on steroids. Same stack height and drop, with more stability and protection. It's absolutely perfect for the rocky rooty trails I run. 10/10 trail shoe for me. #sweepstakes

Before starting my PCT Thru-Hike in 2022 I ordered at least 4 different pairs of shoes from all kinds of brands & sent back 2 straight away. The Topo Ultraventures just seemed very natural with their slightly bigger (but not too big toe box) & I knew straight away those are going to be the shoe for the job. I could not have been happier with the Ultraventures on the PCT. No matter if on sand, gravel, rock or snow, they never let me down! I switched them out after about every 500-600 miles. I definitely could've stretched it out a bit more as they definitely never looked like they were done... Bought 3 pairs of Ultraventures for my upcoming thru-hike attempt to connect the CDT & GDT. Although I'm very sad about the Ultraventure being discontinued I'm pretty excited to try out the Topo Traverse in the future. Topos for the win! :) #sweepstakes

I've been looking for a replacement for my beloved Altras since they started declining in quality, and I think I've found it in these. They aren't 0 drop, which I'm a bit sad about but they're low enough that I'm happy with it, and my ankles are pretty happy too. The durability of the soles and the material of the shoe itself are clearly way above that of the Altras and I know they'll last me at least a few hundred miles more than my Lone Peak 6 did. The toe box is a true wide, unlike other brands that claim to be wide toed. I have yet to get a blister or lose a toenail in these shoes! They're also warmer and thicker than my Altras so that'll help with hiking in cooler weather.

I'm still on my first pair, since I only found out about Topo recently, but they've lasted through over 75 miles of California trails and fire roads (including 32 up and down Umunhum), 54 miles at Stone Cat in Ipswich, MA, and lots of rocky/rooty/technical miles at Blue Hills and Hale Reservation in the Boston area--probably over 250 miles total now. I don't use them for roads, but they're great on the trails *for me*. A big toebox, narrower heel, 5mm drop, rock plate, good rand coverage, great front-chamfered lugs that catch less on rocks, decent drainage, integrated gaiters, and durable (so far). I tend to rip through top mesh on other brands (looking at you, Mizuno and Inov-8, although I love you both for roads and mud/fells, respectively), and I haven't done so here. No rand or sole separation so far (QA issues may have been a factor earlier in the model's life). Earlier comments about lace slippage keep me tying carefully and double-knotting before starting, and so far no problems. I have experienced minor rubbing on the outside of my right big toe (bilateral symmetry having failed me), but I address that in advance with tape if I'm going over 50 miles--I'm sticking with size 11.5M as my final answer. I haven't noticed the slippage others have reported, but then I lace fairly tight and wear a mid-weight sock (generally Injinjis)--kind of a ski boot approach--as I like a locked-in feel. Bottom Line: They work *for me*, and I liked them enough to buy another pair that might have been the last ones available in my size in North America, plus a pair of the new Traverse, which seems to be this model's true successor (same stats, a few welcome updates--unlike the "puffier" Ultraventure 3, which looks like a completely different, Hoka-ier line). I would never say "buy" or "don't buy"--I can just say that some people really like them and some people don't, and--if you like a big toebox, narrow heel, and decently protective design for distance trail running and are looking for something new, you can only try them (er...the Traverse) out for yourself.

I thru hiked the AT in 2021 and AZT in 2022. I went through 8 pairs of shoes on the AT an 2 on the AZT. (Various brands) One pair of ultraventure pros got me through the Colorado Trail and Superior Hiking Trail this year. Great fit, lightweight, quick dry, great grip and love the rock plate! Much less slipping than with other shoes!

I love these. I wear them every day and wore my last pair for over a year. They hold up really great and stay looking good through their whole life. The only part that wore out on me was the inside of the heel.

Light, great day hiking shoe. The grip is good. I wear an 11.5 in everything, but the 11.5 felt small on me and I had to go with a size 12.

Trained for and ran a 200 mile race in a few pairs of Ultraventure Pros. Shoes held up extremely well over months of use. They stood up to desert heat to mountain snows and everything in between. The fabric on the upper is tight enough that it kept most dust out and even blocked out light moisture.

READ THIS REVIEW!!! This is my second pair of the Ultra Adventure Pros. I have to start on a negative, but will end on a very positive note. The only problem I have had with these shoes is that on the left shoe (both times) there is some delamination between the sole and the upper material. I have contacted the company and they sent me a brand new pair for free and it arrived in 1 day... Unbelievable! I was able to mend them with some super glue and they hold together enabling me to keep using them, but having another pair is extremely nice. These shoes have fantastic grip and the toe box is perfect. They feel like an Altra toe box with a Soloman heel. Great to run in (just did a 7 mile run last week with no problems) and also my favorite all day shoe. The laces stay put very well and are easy to use. They are also very tough and great for trails and off road environments. Customer service has been one of the best I have every experienced. Definitely worth a try! Cheers!

I live in the mountains of Montana and need a hiking shoe for daily use. Years ago I switched to Altra's because I have a wide foot. The quality of that product has slowly eroded and the soles were never stiff enough to handle gravel and scree. You could feel every rock and they wore out quickly. A friend suggested Topo and I am extremely happy with the fit and durability. The soles are much better designed for trail use from both traction and durability perspectives.

I hiked the Pacific Crest Trail in '19 and went through 6 pairs of shoes from different brands and styles.... countless blisters and tripping during the whole 6 month experience. This year, '22, I changed to the topo, ultraventure pro. A gamechanger for thru hiking!!! I went throughh 2 and a half pairs. Very few blisters, nearly no tripping and good grip even in snowy conditions. The rock plate was a good ad in Colorado. I liked the fact, that after river crossings they dried out pretty fast. In combination with waterproof socks perfect for snowhiking too. Thank you Topo for that product and I will finish my tripple crown next year with.... of course:-) Topo's.

I got these shoes because I wanted to try a roomier toe box style shoe and I love them. I've used them for day hikes, backpacking, and knocking around town. These shoes are super comfortable for me. I especially appreciate the light weight of the shoe. The upper is very well ventilated and keeps my feet cool, which is important to me for warm weather hiking. The sole has good traction. The sole provides moderate protection from rocks and is not excessively stiff. These shoes also drain well and dry quickly. These are going to be my go-to shoes for the foreseeable future. Highly recommended.

Awesome hiking shoe, the only one I use now. I especially like the very wide toe area that helps to prevent constantly hitting your toes on the front of the shoe on downhills.
