I really enjoy this shoe so far. Light weight, comfortable, and looks good. My only issues (2) so far is that the top on the tongue is short. It just about makes it past the laces and I fell that if I yank down on then or do the runners knot it might cause some pain/irritation. Would be nice if they tongue was a little higher and not wavy. The other (and more personal) is that they don't have a 12.5 yet. The 13 was way to big, which is weird because I have other Topos in 13 that are fine. The 12 (which I have now) is good enough for the treadmill. I'm curious to see how it is on roads and running downhill and if I'll run up against the front. Overall, I like the shoe and can't wait for the weather to get better to get some quicker road runs in.

So far this shoe feels amazing! I haven't had the issue of heel burn at all, fits very snug for me. I normally run in Altra but their road running shoes just didn't feet right compared to their trail shoes. I do get some burn on the ball of my feet, farthest distance so far I've put on them is 5 miles but I plan on pushing that. Excited about this brand!!!

I've run in and have enjoyed Fli-Lyte 3, ST-3, and Terraventure 4, and I really wanted to love these Cyclones, but, sadly, I don't. Based on about 30 miles of running in these, the shoes have proven to be super lightweight and responsive along with a roomy toe box. However, they're too darn NARROW across the widest part of my foot, and my feet are not unusually wide. If the Cyclone fits your particular foot shape, you might enjoy running in them. But they're simply unwearable for me.

Liked the upper, felt great in the summer heat. The toe box felt very refined, maybe a touch small, not enough to size up. My biggest issue with the shoe was how the Zipfoam was employed. Midsole felt way too firm, after really enjoying Zipfoam in Phantom 2. I do understand the stacks are different in the 2 shoes. If you had the Phantom 2 midsole with the Cyclone upper, you'd have an excellent combo. I didn't experience any of the issues with my Achilles other reviews have mentioned. Maybe consider a heel counter for this shoe. Knees & shins felt beat up after running in this shoe.

While the midsole and outsole are very reminiscent of V-1, I found it very difficult to get a secure lockdown in the Ultraventure 2. I have changed the laces three times in an attempt to dial in fit. The microfiber band that goes around the midfoot is tacky but the heel area and fabric of the upper lacks the ability to keep me secure. The dual density upper is fairly thick but too stretchy and hot. Certainty not the greatest choice for hot weather running. Also, the lace loops are a paracord type(new to V-2). I do wonder if this contributes to the lack of security. The ortholite insole is super comfortable but it is a LITERAL sponge for sweat and water(also an issue in V-1). I rate this shoe as a 3 because i don't hate it...however, it needs to live up to, and/or surpass V-1 to recieve higher marks. I am hyper critical of this shoe because it has potential to be awesome. A positive feature of V-2 is it's loss of nearly 1 oz in my size 11. I will continue training in it but will not be able to race in the Ultraventure 2. Please change the upper on V-3.

I've got 32 miles on these, running on the PCT here in Tahoe. Want to love them and was bothering Topo to get my hands on a pair, but unless they do better over the next few miles they are going back. Likes, wide toe box, that is shaped like my foot. Very nice. Stable, as i have broken my ankle before, I'm always concerned. This was really nice. Dislikes. Typical slippery Topo laces. Liner appears to be odd shaped and does not go back in smooth nor flat. Topo specific gatter attachment. Come on, lets get some industry uniformity. 1st run was 6 miles. Was hoping for more comfort from new shoes. The cushion was not there, better then Altra's by far but still for the stack height, and all the talk about the new mid-sole I was hoping for more. Sure Im, 195 lbs but... What i really disliked is on the bottom of both heals, it was like I was running on rails. I'll add a photo below. Its like they put too much stability control into the show or the foot bed was made out of slightly harder places in lines. 2nd run. 6 miles. They felt better. Laces are still not great and I found myself stopping a lot. My ankles and legs felt tired. 3rd run. 20 miles with 3,500 feet gain. The hardness under the heals seemed to go away totally on my left foot. It went away for about 10 miles on the right then came back. I was surprised how tired my knees, quads and ankles got. Sure the PCT is rocky but I've run this section before with others and nothing like this. No way could I have worn them for a 50k. Feet and ankles hurt the next day. Maybe Im looking for the holy grail of shoes, and I thought this one would have it. Nice toe box for my flipper feet, combined with the structure to be a stable shoe but comfort is not there. After 32 miles, I'll try them again on a shorter run but anticipate sending them back.

I was really looking forward to this shoe coming out and had high hopes. Unfortunately this shoe does not work for me. It is a great looking shoe. Found the shoe to fit short on length and tight over the top of the foot. The width is fine, just lacks volume. The worst issue was there is something in the heel cup along the back of the heel that started causing a hot spot within 3 miles. Had the start of a raw spot at the end of my runs. Might work for some folks, just not me. Returning shoes to Topo for a refund.

This was my first pair of Topo. I have been wearing Altra for a long time. I thought I would give Topo a try. I don't like the 5mm rise. I'm used to zero drop. Also don't like how it feels like you fall off the toe. Very stiff shoe. No forefoot cushion. Unfortunately, I am sticking with Altra. (I have the Topo Phantom)

Almost the perfect shoe. Unfortunately the new outsole design is hurting the outside of my foot. Where the softer part sist in the middle this creates a hard outer part that I'm stepping on. No point of having a wider toebox if the sole is buildt in like that. Should be the same platform overall that you step on. Also for a maximum cushioning it should be softer.

So much to love about these shoes! However, with love, there's also hate. The goods: The upper is right on, well mostly. I purchased half size down as other reviewers recommended and it was the right call. The fit is great, upper is thin and lightweight and once laced down its hard to beat for the price point. Obviously, the highlight is the toe box and I found it to be perfect for my foot, not too big nor too small and I have a slightly wide foot that usually lives in an Altra, unless Topo does something intriguing like the Ultraventure (which is phenomenal). The midsole had a lot more pop than I anticipated which is a good thing. I find myself cruising in this shoe, faster than I usually go and I don't find it to be overly firm as I had read in researching. Honestly, I absolutely love the the ride of this shoe. Having the thicker rubber on the outsole is another highlight of this shoe which I hope will lead to longer life (if I can get there). I used it on road to trails and had no issues whatsoever transitioning from either and felt very confident in their ability to handle the terrain. The hate: oh man oh man that heel! Ugh, my bleeding achilles are begging for the beat down to end! I've put 15-20 miles on so far and no matter how tight I lace them, I just can't seem to get the slight slippage to go away. Both heels are just absolutely raw. After the initial run, I managed my new wounds and took a day or two off and then tried again, same thing. Then tried thicker socks and bandages, same result... uggghhhhh Overall: Love the shoe, love what it can do, love the feel, the speed, love the look even. But HATE the heel. I'm not giving up on them just yet which really is a testament to how much I love them! I'm just hoping on all hope that some magical fairy comes along and sprinkles some heel healing powers on the backs of both of my feet and finds a way to get that heel right!

There is so much about this shoe to love, except the heel. I sized down by half a size and the fit was great, like a glove. However, as I tried to break them in, just walking in them led to heel pain immediately. I ran in them a couple times and just can't seem to love them. I do have a history of plantar fascitis but I've never had this happen with several pairs of Brooks and Altras that I've owned. Strange that it was so immediate. I love the wide toe box and low drop, the cushion seemed great but the heel cup is the potential deal breaker. I think I will ry a different Topo shoe to see if it works better for me.

I want to love this shoe and there is a lot to love. The upper is super lightweight. The footbox is roomy and comfortable. The lacing system allows for superior mid foot stabilization. The foam feels light and peppy without feeling bouncy. I feel a nice quick snap off of minimal ground contact. This has all the makings of a great shoe. My one problem is the heel cup. The fit and material are funky. Its slightly too rigid and a bit abrasive. The inside feels like there is a seam or something running horizontally midway down the heel. I can't get my heel locked down. On my third short run, I started to develop a hotspot. I am currently wearing size 12 MT3s for trail running and size 12 ST3s for road running. Both of those have a great heel cup and fit me like a glove. The ST3 is the most comfortable shoe I've ever owned. So, I was disappointed to find the cyclone fit was so "off." If you make the cyclone with the ST3 heel cup, it would be the perfect shoe. As it is, I can't recommend. I'm going to try one half-size down before I give up. As I mentioned, there is a lot to love here. Close to perfection but with one fatal flaw.

The only Topo that have me blisters and still does. There great for 3mi after that there's a weird punch between the side of the shoes and my lateral sole, both sides. Heels get blisters everytime I push into 4mi+. I live the first feel in the store but the pinch and the inability to really lock my heel in place mixed with blisters, literally on every run past 4mi is bad.

Well, just got these and out of the box they felt good. Threw them on without socks and took my dog for a 1 hour walk. The idiotic finishing and design of the upper wrecked my big toe. See pictures. The tongue is also really short and needs to be wider at the top as I started to get laces rubbing on my foot too. The shape is cool, the midsole feels decent, the upper needs a lot of work. And I'm being real nice with my wording here because I'm real frustrated.

I bought these after loving my Ultraventrues so much. That was a comfortable shoe and hard wearing. These however are a poor relative. I recognise that they are not the same design as the Ultraventrue but I still feel compelled to give a poor review. The shoe itself does not have a good, firm feel to it. After just 2 months, they feel flimsy and the rubber around the base has separated from the upper shoe. They wore out far too quickly for the price. Topo have been pretty good about it and replaced them but I won't buy these again. Please, please bring back the Ultraventures in a better colour selection!

So I have ordered 3 of these in various sizes. The ones that are my size lengthwise are too narrow where the stitching is. The wider men's ones are PERFECT in the width but are way too long. I would give anything for a men's 7 which they don't make. You have no idea how badly I want to love these shoesthe sock like feel of the upper is awesome. You guys are really close to perfection...but definitely not there yet.

The MT2 is what brought me to Topo, and was my favorite pair of running shoes that I ever had. The MT3 doesn't feel like it has the same quality to it. The soles are a lot more slippery, which was kind of a bust to me. I'd look at other models, especially if you are running dusty and rocky trails in California and New Mexico.

I purchased the Cyclone to potentially use as a marathon shoes. I loved the weight and fit. The upper felt comfortable but unfortunately I had to return the shoes. Didnt have the cushioning I needed for a marathon. After 6 mile runs feet started to ache. I wore the shoes for a total of 30 miles and a hole started to develop in the toe box. Never had this happen before. I guess to save weight the material they used wasn't very durable.

Just got the Cyclones yesterday and went for a walk in them. Did not get 2 miles before I developed raw spots on the back of both my heels. The heel counter has a pretty dramatic "S" shape when viewed from the side; the middle of which, caused these sores. As everyone else mentioned, the mid foot and toe box are great, but the heel counter is the deal breaker. With me it wasn't even close. I would not entertain trying these again given the damage done on a 1.8 mile walk.

I bought this shoe as it was on sale and was trying to find an alternative to Altra (i've been disappointed with Altra's quality as of late). Got the shoe today and immediately took them for a spin. Within a few feet I started experiencing pain on the outer edge of my foot (pinkie toe side). Upon closer inspection I found that the outer edge of my foot was HANGING OVER THE EDGE OF THE MIDSOLE. I bought this shoe cause I heard that they had wide shoes, but apparently that was wrong.

Sadly Cyclone was not for me. I knew it as soon as I put them on: that uncushioned heel was going to take layers off. But I gave them a chance. Liked the ride. Hated the quarter sized blisters on my heels after an easy 45 minute run. I returned the Cyclones the next day. Ordered the Magnifly 3. Night and Day difference. The M3s redeemed you, TOPO. THAT is a GOOD shoe. Looking forward to reviewing that SEPCOR.
