Born usually fits me well. They used to do European sizing and the 38.5 was perfect. That is a 7.5 in the US and the width was always good. I am a wide width and this style was a bit narrow. They will stretch and were so comfy I decided to keep them. I would love to see wide width in ] Born again.

I wear a size 5 but was having trouble finding sandals with good heel support. I tried these on and bought a brown pair. They worked great and because of the shoe design, the size 6 was fine. So then I ordered a pair in black.

I really like these, the color is what I want, the leather and construction is comfortable except that they will take time to break in. They are tight over the toes. But the sole is like my other Born sandals and I look forward to the day they can be worn all day.

Oh, how I wanted to keep this shoe. Navy sandals are hard to find, and Born is a brand of shoe that I love and own many, many pairs. However, this shoe felt better off than on. I'm 5'4", 115 pounds and wear either a 6 1/2 or 7 M, and ordered in a 7M. Barely long enough, so don't size down! In the hot summer afternoons, when your feet tend to swell, this shoe was not comfortable. I could not justify a $110 expenditure for a shoe that while it looks cute, does not make my feet feel good, or at least not uncomfortable. If your foot has a low instep and is narrow, the shoe might work for you!

These shoes have a cute style, but for the price, I'm not finding the comfort I'm looking for. They are being returned.

I didn't even try them on because instead of gold as pictured, there were ugly streaks of brown. So disappointing.

Size 10 is true to size. I had another pair of these sandals 4 years ago and the insole was leather. This model, although the same otherwise, has a horrible plastic insole, not sure how it will feel in the summer when the feet are sweating. Still debating if I should return them. Leather upper is fine, but the material of the insole is equally important for me. Too bad that this company is replacing good stuff with cheap alternatives. I still have a lot of Born sandals from the past, with the leather, and will keep them until they fall apart.

Very narrow

This is a cute shoe, but too narrow. I tried a larger size, but then the front of the leather hit my toes in a way that was uncomfortable from the start. So back they go...

I am an 8 1/2 and the 8 was too small. I fear the 9 will be too big. But they are beautiful shoes.

I love these shoes, I have several pairs. I returned this pair because the shoes are not the same color as they appear on-line. The description is "turquoise". They look turquoise blue on-line which is what I wanted. What I received was a turquoise green color.

The instep was so tight that until the suede had stretched out, it would have been very uncomfortable. Add in the lack of any arch support, and as cute as they were, I had to return them. Perfect color too.

Love this shoe - but, it is not red!!! It is more orange - just so you know. It is super comfortable.

Unfortunately, the top front edge of the shoe rubs against my big toe when stepping, so it did not work out for me. I have thin feet, so the shoes may affect another differently. Love the brand in general and the quality is top notch. Shoes are so personal, and this was just a miss for me.

I really wanted these to fit me. Love the style and quality but I need a wider size to accommodate my bunions. I had to return them.

I love Born shoes and have several pair that generally fit a little larger, and work for a wide foot. I wanted to love these sandals, but as another reviewer mentioned, the part that cuts across the toes is truly uncomfortable. If you have a narrow foot, these will probably be okay for you. The leather is beautiful but stiff and punishing - not the sort of thing one looks for in summer shoes.

These sandals were very comfortable. However, both of my daughters, who were not together, told me they didn't like the way they looked on my foot. They thought the band at the top of the foot would look better if it were smaller.

As others have written, these shoes run very narrow. I wear a standard (medium) width and these were unbearably, foot-distortingly tight and dug at the big toe. Absolutely stunning, gorgeous shoes, though, in the dark tan finish (which is a thick, stiff leather.) With the right fit, these shoes are total keepers. I'm exchanging for a size larger in hopes of achieving a better outcome. (Note one possible issue: I typically wear a barely-9.5 and these shoes are only available in full sizes. I chose 9 because that usually works as an alternative to 9.5 -- and historically, 10 has always been way too big/long on me. We'll see if that's different this time around.)

The size was good, however they came too high up in the front and rubbed against the lower part of my ankle. I really liked them but couldn’t take a chance on them softening up enough.

Uncomfortable but I have a wide foot.

Not happy that the shoes have a vinyl inner sole. Other retailers Born products have leather. Seems shady that Zappos offers a cheaper version of an otherwise great product. The vinyl is sticky and makes your feet sweat.

The shoes were scuffed and looked worn. I hope an exchange for another pair will be better.

I put them on and my husband's first words were "they look plastic" so they are being returned. I had to size up from a 9 to a 10. The 10 fit in length but overall was too large everywhere else.

I really liked these sandals, but, unfortunately, the top piece of leather cuts into my toes.

I own multiple pairs of Born sandals, and always wear a true 9. These fit in length, but the top part was really tight and the front by the toe area cut into my toes. I think a full size up would be too big, sadly.
